  • saw these guys like 20 times within a 3 month period back many many years ago and finished up with a holloween show in houston at the summit! what a night!

  • Gotta love that tower beside Emerson. The Frankenstein's monster known as a MOOG! .....err......I suppose that makes it a Moog's monster. Anyway......

  • mmmm my like song!!!!

  • Oh, how I love this song...It reminds me the beautiful times of my youth, the 60's and 70's. Greg Lake had such perfect and clear vocal.

  • This is just awesome, beautiful music by a group that was truly talented! The "stuff" on the radio today, doesn't hold a candle to this beautiful music! Peace to all, BobbyK

  • FALTAN PALABRAS PARA ..........EXCELENTE !!

  • Fucking best song in the world!!

  • balmy nights in san diego. never far from the ocean. really nice . need to go back.

  • I saw ELP (Emerson, Lake & Powell at that time) in the '80s and then again in the '90s. This looks like it might be from the '90s. Sounds like it, too, since Greg's voice has given out a little in recent years.

  • Fantastic singer/songwriter and musicians. These guys had it all, too bad more folks can't experience and appreciate this genius.

  • One of the best songs ever!

  • Greg Lake. His face was posted all over my bedroom walls when I was 16 (1974). His voice was was and is like cut crystal. I was the end all absolute groupie fan at 16 and I still love ELP at 53. Favorites are the FTB, Fuge and Trilogy from Trilogy, The Sage from Pictures at an Exh, Jerusalem and Tocata from BSS and pretty much anything. Love em!!

  • I saw them in concert in 1991 or 1992 Springfield MA

  • @irishmike1961 Why do people like you even check out these videos. All you seem to be interested in is the artist appearance, which has nothing to do with anything. It would be so refreshing to view a video of a classic rock artist without seeing moronic comments like yours. Thanks for posting this telqen23

  • is great the sing

  • greg lake should change his name to greg ocean...fat bastard

  • @irishmike1961 I will tell you what.....you tour, write, produce, sing, play, and go through all the hassles that go with all these things...not to mention being fantasic at your craft at age 60 and you have the right to judge this mans weight....you know what....no...even then, you dont know what has driven his weight up. Greg Lake is a icon of Prog, folk, and Rock....

  • @BluStile3 now i will tell you what...BLOW ME ASSHOLE

  • @irishmike1961 I bet you're a real beauty. Not.

  • @annikee59 AND I BET YOURE A CRACK WHORE

  • @irishmike1961 I don't have to bet- you just proved it yourself, you're an asshole.

  • son como el vino

  • Excellent song remember me when I was young

  • One of my all time fav songs EVER!

  • What a melancholy beauty this song has! My all time favorite ELP song.

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to t least 5 video's. Dont let the spirit of rock n roll Die

  • @BubbaGump0722 You say tomato, I say TORMATO , Yes.

You say seven nominations, with zero trophies, i say RUSH.

You say bullshit idol worshiping, I say not in the rock and roll hall of fame yet?

But i love ELP and Bubba Gump's Shrimp and Grill. Happy Valentines 2011.

From this point on, backwards and forwards, baby.

  • very true the smoking is poor. just miss his old tenor, got the albums if i wanna listen. 21st cntry schizo man couldn't be good for the ole pipes.

  • This song is just so amazing! Always loved this one!! EL&P sure put out some great songs and Greg's voice is amazing!! Takes me back to better days. This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself! Missing those days forever!! ☺♥

  • what year is this from? i'm sorry, love Lake to death but man does he look like he ate 2much. the vox is shot too., an octave deeper. he is like most his peers. Ian A, Plant, Gabriel,P.Collins,Elton John. The road: drugs, drink, and overtouring. ruins vox.

  • @kristoscan He's a smoker, too - and a lot of their material would have shredded a lesser singer's voice years ago. He never too it easy on his voice on stage.

  • I could listen to this song fifty times a day, every day, for the rest of my life. Actually... I could listen to ANYTHING Greg Lake sings fifty times a day! xo

  • @LolasTubular I'll second that! ♥

  • @LolasTubular

from the other side of the earth Im totay agree w/ U

  • There might have been things I missed But don't be unkind It don't mean I'm blind Perhaps there's a thing or two I think of lying in bed I shouldn't have said But there it is You see it's all clear You were meant to be here From the beginning Maybe I might have changed And not been so cruel Not been such a fool Whatever was done is done I just can't recall It doesn't matter at all You see it's all clear You were meant to be here From the beginning
  • Too bad Greg let himself go, still has the voice though great performance

  • Fabulous, thank you for posting this it's awesome......

  • soave

  • actually it's very good, they are just older.

  • Too bad there's not a recording of this when they were young. Not very good in my opinion.

  • @marcmgm

But there is, it's on Trilogy. From 1972. Or do you mean live version? Don't know about that, probably, but I generally don't like live things.

  • Wonderfull version!! To bad Greg hasn't aged very well... :( He used to be really good looking... Anyway, they still turn people on with their music!! ;)

  • I love Kieth's solo in this song it really changes the mood of the song but in a good way. I love ELP. They rock.

  • great song

  • if anyone knows where i can get the chords&lyrics i would really like that! I have to have this one to play on my ukulele. Aloha

  • @pinehead1001 Yeah go here triple w. guitaretab. c-o-m. Tabs w/lyrics. EZ song to play. It was the 1st song I started playing again after injuring my finger 25 years earlier. I love ELP

  • I love this song

  • Every top thumbs up goes to i played my song at this ones Funeral. Okok that's heavy. My 10 yr old son died, I wont use that for thumbs. How about we agree this is the best live rendition Ive seen of a beautiful, clever, moving studio version In a Long time. Can we get a thumbs up for anadmiring, excellent commentary?

  • dentro de poco lo asan como lechon......los años no vienen solo , maestro igual

  • Time is a wicked warrior, it spares no one...I smoked my first joint tooling down the road with 3 of my best friends jamming down on this tune. Two of them now have passed over and years since I've seen the other...Youth that is not wasted is a wasted youth.Words so true.

  • 2 of ELP run and keep fit one does'nt, guess which, Greg you are fat and it is bad for your heart!

  • ... great mix of lead --> rhythm guitar and drums --> vocals --> synth. Fascinating to hear see ELP in their mature form

  • Thanks Ken..........<3

  • If anyone is musical minded you can download the score for this song (9 pages, guitar tab)

One fo the most beautiful voices in R&R can't reach the loudest notes anymore. Great guitar work, as ever.

  • ALWAYS GOOD, ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL...timeless beautiful vocals by greg lake, great guitar part...wow i will always love this song...takes me back...thanx for the video...

  • I was at Cal Jam 1 and Cal Jam 2, the music from the 70's was and is the best

  • i wasn't a big emerson, lake and palmer fan but this song was HUGE in my books...

    thanks guys!

  • Nothing like listening to old timers do their thing beautifully...

  • ELP is one of the most progressive band of the era. I saw them live years ago at Oakland. Front seat.

  • The Best Band of the Universe!

  • @pollaris18 You're right........and if they are not the Best.......I'd love to hear someone better.

  • @raljazz The original lineup for Yes is just as good or better. I know I'll get a ration of shit for that comment but just listen to the first two Yes albums or Yessongs the live album before making a judgement. Some songs were played out way too long but the tightness of prog rock clearly shines through. Great performers in both groups. I really don't play favorites. Just listen to good music.

  • @TheGunslinger5854 It's people like you what causes unrest. Why can't you just like both of them?

  • @twangglor Listen to both groups and make up your own mind.

  • STILL GOOD AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.WISH I COULD PLAY LIKE THAT.FROM THE BEGINNING.

  • There was the Fab 4...then THESE GUYS!!!

  • Grandes, fue mi primer recital y nunca voy a olvidar aquella jornada gloriosa...

  • from a guy of 43 who was sexually abused as a 12 year old, i heard this tune @ 14 and had hope. All 3 of these guys just had a gas, and I love em"

  • @MrDjmacd Shit dude, I'm sorry for what happened and I think we're all happy that music helped you, as it helps us everyday even if what happened to you is way harder live...

    Peace!

  • To me, one of the most beautiful songs ever...........

  • i danced to this song for my wedding this for my late husb. brings back so many mem. it is hard to litsen too

  • Wow. Someone preserve this for the ages. This is probably the best ELP post on You Tube.

  • Hey Greg, look out. These earbuds are causing hearing loss to many musicians. You better get back to regular speakers/monitors or you will be unable to reach high notes in the future. Hi everyone, there is no return when hearing is damaged.

  • Esta música no deja emocionarme, ada vez que la escucho es igua,l y ahora tambien les gusta a mis pequeñas.

  • Great song...................

  • I love ELP but man...my girlfriend alerted to me that Greg Lake has a head as round as a full moon...not that its bad but I think she's right...hehehe moon face

  • still gives me goosebumps

  • I just heard of Emerson Lake and Palmer and I wonder how did I never hear of these amazing musicians before. This song is way too awesome. This is beautiful.

  • Finally the definitive version of how to play this song. I've spent 30 minutes listening to hacked up versions by wanna be's and found this gem. God Bless Youtube.

  • Wicked!! so refreshing to hear real musicians...thanks for posting.

  • Awesome stuff! My ELP fav.

  • All I need Is a Fine wine and a good hit of Ganga and I,m all set! Thanks for sharing !

  • It's an amazing song, I love it, but in this version, the added synth strings take away some of the unique sound. And Emerson's hand is in a weird pose; was this when he had a hand injury in the 90s? He only uses 3 fingers...

  • Every time I watch this video, my fingers start to twitch with a mind of their own, in an effort to see how Mr. Lake does what he does to make this song happen like it does, every time.

  • You know me, the Sinatra fan, but this is absolutely an incredibly good live act of a good song. I must have listened to the studio version of this song on the radio hundreds of times on the radio, as wel as the Trilogy album a few times, but a great live act of a good song by any good artist, especially the original artist, is always a pleasure.

  • At last!

  • SUCH A dreamy song....

  • Incredible Musicians..

Gre Lake, Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer.

    Amazing all around!

  • Incredible musicians:

Greg Lake, Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer...

    Amazing all around!

  • Si. Los años los mejoran... Son casi contemporàneos mìos, escuche esta canciòn cuando tenìa 17 años... Todavìa me maravilla esta banda. Gracias por postearla telqen23!

  • Cool song :)

  • Greg Lake is an amazing musician and ELP was one of my favorites growing up in the 70's. They were the epitome of rock bands from that era and their music will be immortalized as the stuff of legends.

  • Exelente, que buen musicon, este ees un grupaso y este tema es de los clasicos de todo la vida.

  • Que Bestia hermosa...que BaNdA!!!

  • what year is this concert filmed? looks very recent. TY. great tune!

  • For me it'sthe most beautiful song i ever listen!

  • @ARRRIERE For me too. It brings me lots of memories from my childhood since my parents used to listen to Trilogy back in 1979.
