  • Enjoying this a lot. Hitting the spot for me right now.

  • thats what i call talent not this stupid guys like rihanna or justin bieber

  • How could any drummer keep up lol?

  • Was impressed!!!

  • I love those intro's where it just holds a note for a bar or so in Drop A. It's just so fucking perfect. Great playing! Also, loving the RGD2127Z.

  • is this only recorded with line6 x3? dont you use any 'extra'?

  • Damn....you change modes so freaking fast....you're awesome Paul!

  • Holy shit! Those licks are extraordinary

  • Holographic Universe?

  • This song makes me want to play Super Smash Brothers.

  • 03:37 awwwww X.X

  • i am absolutely in awe that production of this caliber can be achieved with a pod x3 and superior drummer. what am i doing wrong? i use an x3 live and superior drummer and while my recordings sound alright they have nothing on this! any tips or tricks to getting more out of these tools? my guitar tones never sound as crystal clear as these (they are always a little fuzzy/muddy) any tips would be much appreciated!

  • Holy shit the dude from Shaun of the Dead kills it

  • Fuckin' love it. Best instrumental/shred album I've heard in years.

  • You have excellent phrasing. I love your style. Great song.

  • Hey man, awesome tune you got there! What camera did you record the video with? :)

  • Wich pickups do you have on your Ibanez?

  • This is great! I definitely here Jeff Loomis in your playing, which is a good thing! :D

  • Any plans on adding vocals to your songs? :D

  • Any news of new album>

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2 Currently writing and recording the new album 'The Human Affliction' right now!

  • @paulwardingham Yay! Teaser?

  • Sick song, i really like the ideas. I have wanted to hear songs making use of those spaced out scifi arpeggios and between this and DT Deconstruction i am very happy! Heres hoping to hear Paul with more musicians

  • Thanks for posting this video Paul. Surely the best instrumental album of 2011. Really looking forward to the next album.

  • @arcallaw Thanks very much! \m/

  • This is an awesome song. Subscribed!

  • You are gonna be a onemand for the rest of your life..

Noone is capable to play something insane as that!

    Thumbs up bro :)

  • If you and Per Nilsson had a baby, I think the world would explode from the awesomeness! You are amazing! 5*

  • 3:31-3:42 just looks unreal

  • Compliments Guitar Hero !!!

  • i have your cd ... and i totally become your fans ...

could you please tell me when you recording ,,,, how do you set the nosie gate ??

because i can't hear the nosie when your finger move on the string ,..

  • Absolutely mindblowing. :-)

  • SOMEONE GIVE THIS GUY A CASTLE AND HORSE!

  • Are those the stock pickups in the ibanez?

  • Beautiful. I wish I could play half as well

  • @MrFrancescosmusic Thanks very much.

  • Damn! This was fantastic. Glad you chose metal to express yourself. Hope you get all the support you deserve. Cheers from Portugal!

  • @MalefactorCarnal Cheers! \m/

  • Paul, your album has been stuck in my car for 2 months now as well as on my ipod. By FAR the best album of this year and perhaps of all time. You have finally created what I have always envisioned but no one ever did it. Words can't explain how much I appreciate your talent. Keep up the excellence. Cheers!

  • @darkinglory wow thanx man!

  • This is one of my favorites albums! and my favorite song! amazing! The first time I heard your album, I was impressed! not something you hear every day, really appreciate this album, I like to listen to and enjoy your music while design.

  • Insane playing , what scales are you playing 2:43 - 3:06 ?

  • Some dude linked this vid on Ultimate-Guitar because of a poor review of that guitar he is playing....first off that guitar is great....also I'm glad he linked this...this was pretty sweet! Never heard of this guy before but he totally is great.

  • Your sweeps are insane

  • Fuck i hate when players like him dont are very know , or are underrated , Paul u have my support , one day u will be a god.

  • what program do you use for mixing?

  • did the 26.5inch scale guitar really make a big different compared to 25.5inch scale in achieving heavy sound??

  • @shuszzam yes, longer scale length = more tension = better tone on the lower string. I own this axe, and compared it to 25.5" 7 strings.

  • All this time playing seems like a waste, I'll never be this good. Fortunately I have about 60 more years to practice.

  • You my friend are a real master !! im eager for your next vid ! :)

  • Hey Paul, what did you use to record this video? and you other videos for that matter

  • I love how you're really good at tap shredding without needing a hairband on the first fret, awesome.

  • jeff loomis meets Per Nilsson...

  • lul?! Instrumental Scar Symmetry :D:D:D

  • Hey, man! I love the tones you get with the 7 string! I'm going to be purchasing one soon and was wondering how you like schecter 7 strings? I'm going to be getting the Damien 7 since it fits my price range.

  • @JohnWeible I'll give you my opinion if you don't mind..The Damien kind of sucks, lol get a blackjack ATX 7-string it will be worth your while.

  • I dunno why .c but this song made me happy :D

  • what programs do u use to add, drums and background music?

  • @Ibanez1237 Hey there. I use Logic and Superior Drummer software. Cheers!

  • Hello Mr. Walsingham,

I've been self-teaching myself electric guitar for about 2.5 years now, but not yielding real results. Do you have any tips to help me improve my leads? I don't know any music theory and I mainly learn by playing along with guitar pro tabs.

  • @lainiac2012 Train you ears to improve your leads most importantly. Also mastering alternate picking should imporve you alot

  • Dude, you literally had my feet stomping in excitement at around the 3:00 mark! Awesome work, it just gets better every time I listen to it!

  • i cannot believe ANYONE is able to play this all the way through... my hands would implode 20 seconds in to it..

  • hey paul what video camera are you using?

  • this is insane :O 110% awesomeness

  • Can you possibly make a video of your tone on the POD X3? :D

  • Will you do are tutorial to talk about recording metal guitar or mixing ??

your works was so good ..

    i can't imagine why the line6 x3 can sounds that good ..

  • @neo69hk that would be fucking awesome lml

  • @neo69hk The POD HD500 doesn't sound bad either. You should try it mate!

  • Do you mind me asking what type of make and colour the paint is on the wall behind you?

    I really like it!

  • amazing! what model is that?

  • hey paul ! youu use eq in the lead and rhythm tone? and what kind of reverb for the tones in the pod x3 live of curse? :)!

  • @ljevaine Hey. Yes there's some eq, mainly in Logic. Reverb/delay is added in Logic, but when I use just the pod I use the ping pong delay.

  • Metal man, pure metal. well done! \m/

  • holy crap, I just wet myself like 26x whilst watching this...

  • That main riff is very catchy. I like the synths very much, too. I am glad this doesn´t sound like that what everyone is doing.

  • Im guessing youre super influenced by per nilsson...this shit is absolutely genius....SUPER CLEAN

  • Are you a wizard?

  • Comment removed

  • God damn, You are the next Tosin Abasi.

  • I'm 30 seconds into the song, and I've already decided to buy it

  • Kinda reminds me of Scar Symmetry.

  • yeaaaah man this is amazing i can only wish to be as good a guitarist as you one day! both in playing and song writing!

  • sounds just like holographic universe

  • the best tone i ever heard

  • at last some metal solist keep going bro !

  • awesome stuff man

  • Perfect...

  • excellent job mister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lml , i have a question, which do you prefer? the Loomis or the 2127z???? :O

  • Stunning guitar mastery!

  • can't wait to pick up that signed pack from the store :) is it available yet? I am dangerously close to gushing like an unrepentant fanboi so I'll sum it up with a psychologically healthy "awesome video man!"

And follow it up with some freaky heavy breathing noises.

Great album. Amazingly brilliant yet uniquely self stylized guitarist. Brilliant work all round. Much love.

  • @TrikQuestionS Thanks a lot man. Yes the pack is available from the store. Cheers! \m/

  • Awesome, reminds me of Scar Symmetry :D

  • Nice stuff you got here!

Hey Paul, I was curious: how would you say the new Ibanez compares/contrasts to the Schecter? Anything you like about each one over the other?

  • Excelent man, nice work with this one likthis is reallye ghost in the machine, i think all here are waiting an other amazing video hehe, but is too soon cause this is really new, nice worj again, im working on fields of utopia, one day i'll upload the cover like a tribute hehe bye, cheers lml.

  • Brilliant mate!

  • This is awesome!

  • OMG YOU ARE AMAZING !!!!!!!!! :')

  • Hey man you do fantastic work, could you explain your recording process.

I use one of those audio interfaces but when i record distortion guitar it always sounds flat and dull with a hissing sound.

  • wish i had your playing and mixing skills paul. i heard that you have used pod farm for your tones which is amazing cuz you really got an amazing tone.

you should make tutorials about mixing bro.. those would be really helpful for many people like me.

  • so genius

  • some really creative guitar playing going on here! what tuning do you use?

  • @trigardonAQ He tunes to standard, with the 7th string on drop A!

  • @paulwardingham I forgot to ask man, what ibanez model is that? I'm thinking on getting an Ibanez RG1527 and your look very much like one, so if it is. Do you like it? If it's not, thanks anyways. :)

  • @Sickz666 It's an Ibanez RGD2127z. It's great.

  • Jak tak dalej będzie - za niedługo Paul Wardingham będzie nie tylko na YT, lecz może wypłynie o wiele dalej :) Życzę mu tego.

  • sounds like something scar symmetry would do

  • magnifique!

  • Awesome playing!!!! which guitar is your favourite the loomis or your ibanez?

  • @AusGuitarist94 Cheers! If I had to choose I would say the Ibanez.

  • awesome man

  • You are beyond amazing, sir. Very talented skills you possess! :D

  • Holy shit... I wanna have your skills >.<

  • Truly love your album, got it the minute i heard it!

Question though, about recording. Do you use your real amp for recording or some amp simulator like POD farm, axe fx2 or something?

Also for the drums, are those real drums or do you use a midi keyboard or EZdrummer? Thanks alot! :)

  • @Sickz666 Thanks man. For the album and this video I used the POD X3 Live. The drums are done using superior drummer. Cheers!

  • October 1st? Off to get Ghost in the Machine! Awesome video by the way, great inspiration :)

  • @ShredReviews Thanks very much.

  • @paulwardingham AWESOME! What synth vst's did you use on the album?

  • @progreggae Cheers! I used Logic and a Yamaha CS2X synth.

  • got the same guitar-->it is a Shred Monster, incredibly easy to play and geniusly designed. Keep it up Paul and please post more videos:)

  • when you're writing a song, do you try and compose a solo and play a rhythm to follow it, or is it the other way around?

  • @assfuck37 It's different every time but I'd say usually the other way round.

  • Great!

  • so incredibly perfect.. amazing, also i have the album and its awesome

  • intro reminds me of Holographic Universe by Scar Symmetry.

    Awesome song!

  • i jus found out about you like 5 seconds ago...im highly impressed paul :)

    awsome track

  • Genius work Paul. This track reminds me a whole lot of Scar Symmetry's "Holographic Universe" because of it's outer space atmospheric sound, which is awesome. Have you thought of doing any collabs with Per or former vocalist Christian Alvestam?

  • any insight to the tapping lick around 1:45? SO COOL! thanks

  • awesomeness right there

  • Amazing..Simply Brilliant!

  • Killer...

  • Great stuff Paul! this entire album is just killer from start to finish!

  • you, sir, are a badass. no doubt.

  • i am speachelless...i wish that i will play someday as half as good :D amazing music.

  • i am speachelless...i wish that i will play someday as half as good :D

  • looking great and sounding better! props man!

  • You're so incredible! Best playing ever! And great song as well, I've bought your album.

  • Sounds scarily similar to Scar Symmetry, just without vocals. Your style is also almost a clone of Per Nilsson's. Not a bad thing, though, as Scar Symmetry is one of my favorite bands and Per one of my favorite guitar players. Bought your album on itunes, going to give it a listen right now!

  • that´s awesome mate !!! :)

  • fuck man that's awesome

  • Can you tell me what that guitar is called?

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2 Hey, he is playing a Ibanez RGD2127Z Prestige =]

  • Ahhh there it is. Was really looking forward to this. This contains one of my favorite solos of your album (the one starting at 2:22) - I really like that tapped arpeggio sequence. Just can't believe how you hit all those complex shapes. Would be cool to have tabs or a lesson for that one. Just wish I wasn't such a sloppy tapper, don't think I will be able to handle it, hehe.

Looking forward to your coming album and will definitely order it. Keep up the great work!

    Seb

  • Hey Paul,i've already heard your album and i love it,very good tunes indeed (my personal faves are assimilate regenerate,Fields of utopia and ghost in the machine)I have a little question for you,How can you achieve such an awesome tone only with a line 6 pod xt ?i mean i've already seen many videos of it but none has a tone like yours.

    Keep up the good job.

    Cheers!

    Rod

  • dildomonkey

  • Excellent Paul :))

  • I have been waiting for the past few weeks for another video! This is pure excellence Paul. Can't wait to get your next cd \m/ keep it up man!
