i am absolutely in awe that production of this caliber can be achieved with a pod x3 and superior drummer. what am i doing wrong? i use an x3 live and superior drummer and while my recordings sound alright they have nothing on this! any tips or tricks to getting more out of these tools? my guitar tones never sound as crystal clear as these (they are always a little fuzzy/muddy) any tips would be much appreciated!
Sick song, i really like the ideas. I have wanted to hear songs making use of those spaced out scifi arpeggios and between this and DT Deconstruction i am very happy! Heres hoping to hear Paul with more musicians
Paul, your album has been stuck in my car for 2 months now as well as on my ipod. By FAR the best album of this year and perhaps of all time. You have finally created what I have always envisioned but no one ever did it. Words can't explain how much I appreciate your talent. Keep up the excellence. Cheers!
This is one of my favorites albums! and my favorite song! amazing! The first time I heard your album, I was impressed! not something you hear every day, really appreciate this album, I like to listen to and enjoy your music while design.
Some dude linked this vid on Ultimate-Guitar because of a poor review of that guitar he is playing....first off that guitar is great....also I'm glad he linked this...this was pretty sweet! Never heard of this guy before but he totally is great.
Hey, man! I love the tones you get with the 7 string! I'm going to be purchasing one soon and was wondering how you like schecter 7 strings? I'm going to be getting the Damien 7 since it fits my price range.
I've been self-teaching myself electric guitar for about 2.5 years now, but not yielding real results. Do you have any tips to help me improve my leads? I don't know any music theory and I mainly learn by playing along with guitar pro tabs.
can't wait to pick up that signed pack from the store :) is it available yet? I am dangerously close to gushing like an unrepentant fanboi so I'll sum it up with a psychologically healthy "awesome video man!"
And follow it up with some freaky heavy breathing noises.
Great album. Amazingly brilliant yet uniquely self stylized guitarist. Brilliant work all round. Much love.
Excelent man, nice work with this one likthis is reallye ghost in the machine, i think all here are waiting an other amazing video hehe, but is too soon cause this is really new, nice worj again, im working on fields of utopia, one day i'll upload the cover like a tribute hehe bye, cheers lml.

you should make tutorials about mixing bro.. those would be really helpful for many people like me.
@paulwardingham I forgot to ask man, what ibanez model is that? I'm thinking on getting an Ibanez RG1527 and your look very much like one, so if it is. Do you like it? If it's not, thanks anyways. :)
Genius work Paul. This track reminds me a whole lot of Scar Symmetry's "Holographic Universe" because of it's outer space atmospheric sound, which is awesome. Have you thought of doing any collabs with Per or former vocalist Christian Alvestam?
Sounds scarily similar to Scar Symmetry, just without vocals. Your style is also almost a clone of Per Nilsson's. Not a bad thing, though, as Scar Symmetry is one of my favorite bands and Per one of my favorite guitar players. Bought your album on itunes, going to give it a listen right now!
Ahhh there it is. Was really looking forward to this. This contains one of my favorite solos of your album (the one starting at 2:22) - I really like that tapped arpeggio sequence. Just can't believe how you hit all those complex shapes. Would be cool to have tabs or a lesson for that one. Just wish I wasn't such a sloppy tapper, don't think I will be able to handle it, hehe.
Looking forward to your coming album and will definitely order it. Keep up the great work!
Hey Paul,i've already heard your album and i love it,very good tunes indeed (my personal faves are assimilate regenerate,Fields of utopia and ghost in the machine)I have a little question for you,How can you achieve such an awesome tone only with a line 6 pod xt ?i mean i've already seen many videos of it but none has a tone like yours.

did the 26.5inch scale guitar really make a big different compared to 25.5inch scale in achieving heavy sound??
shuszzam 3 months ago
@shuszzam yes, longer scale length = more tension = better tone on the lower string. I own this axe, and compared it to 25.5" 7 strings.
