  • These jam drops came out amazing! Even my mother, who is the biggest sweet nazi I know, loved it! my family went through the entire thing in one day! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

  • Everything is opposite in australia, toilets, sinks, egg yolk colour

  • What do I use if I don't have baking paper?

  • YUM !

  • can i use aluminum foil instead of baking paper?

  • these are in my oven right now and I used rasberry jam:) they smell good too,but I hope the taste/result will be great as well:D

  • if you are cooking in batches how do you store the left over batter? do you leave it at room temperature? if so how long can it last till you cook it? also have the same question for left over chocolate chip batter, anzac biscuits, short bread etc. thank you

  • @ace8064 I recommend storing the batter at room temperature when cooking in batches. However, if you make up this batter and cook some, but plan to use the rest another time, cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until needed. I recommend using the batter within a day of making it. This applies to all cookie batters / doughs ;)

  • Can I use self raising flour instead of plain flour?

  • @sitibeliebsxo Please disregard my previous reply (I just deleted it) as I misread your question. You can't use self-raising flour for this recipe, as the cookies will come out too cakey - you need to use plain flour ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thank you :)

  • My grandma used to do these aswell :) I do believe she had some pearlsugar on top =) as an extra :). Good one!

  • In America we call these Thumbprints and I make them with a combination of butter and shortening for the fat content. All butter tends to make them dense, while the combination makes them lighter. You can use margerine, but the taste won't be there.

  • I just made this recipe. I use reduced sugar blueberry jam. It's taste gorgeous!! and smell soooo goooood!! Thanks you for your sharing.

  • These are in my oven right now! woohoo! Can't wait to eat them!!

  • i was so excited to make these, and when i put them in the oven they turned out flat. not in little balls. i think i needed to put n baking powder. somethings missing. im very disappointed.

  • Can you use a bit of oil besides the baking paper?-

  • @vilkas8 I recommend using baking paper, as it's the best way to stop the cookies from sticking to the tray. Oil doesn't always work as the cookies can absorb it ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Oh... Thanks for repling.

  • I just like to spread Seedless Jelly (Jam) on Whole Grain Bread.

  • i am going to have cavities by the end of this lol ^_^

  • I think you should have your own programme, you're great!!

  • WANKY xD

  • omg i LOVE your recipes! they're awesome <3 but one question though, by regular flour did you mean self raising flour or is baking powder not needed in this recipe? excuse my ignorance, i'm just a newbie :D

  • @egad88 You'll need Plain Flour for this recipe. Don't add baking powder or Self Raising Flour, as the cookies will rise and turn into cakes!

  • i made today these cookies and they are just lovely and yummy i also made some with nutella and they are so so so good i could not belive it, specially because i made them, ha ha ha, thank you again for your wonderfull recipe, you rock!!

oh almost forgot they are the most easiest cookies to make ever!!!!

  • @2010fatimae I'm glad you enjoyed them :)

  • you are so funny and profetional at the same time, i just love you you should have your very own show!! you great! And these cookies look so good!!

  • you are so funny and profetional at the same time, i just love you you should have your very own show!! you great!

  • Love your videos!! And your eye colour too :))

  • Can we use reqular sugar?

  • @TheBeautyliciouss You can, but it will take longer to cream together. Icing Sugar is quicker and easier ;)

  • i wish u were my dad your awesome!

  • Your vanilla extract looked like grape koolaid

  • your happy and cheery attitude makes my day.

  • is baking paper wax paper?

  • @gdf141 Use any non-stick kitchen paper suitable for the oven ;)

  • @gdf141 I would use baking paper because wax paper will melt and stick to your cookie sheet as well as the cookies

  • can someone convert the measurements

  • @TheDalmatian951 do yourself on google. there are a million conversion websites.

  • Can you use Jelly?

  • @cco2012 Yes - Jelly (we Aussies call it Jam) would be perfect in this recipe ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow

acutally there is a difference between jam and jelly we americans have jam jelly is another thing ;)

  • I'm going to try making this for my little cousins... I'll be using Nutella instead of jam... I hope it'll turn out great...

I love your videos!!! Makes it easier for people like me to produce delectable desserts and meals!~

  • wow my fault sorry i didnt see all of your desert videos i feel like a dick commenting on your other vid now

  • @ps3gamefreak55 LOL no worries ;)

  • Oh god. I love Jam Drop Cookies. :P my gramma used to make these with home made Peach jam.

  • hey ya.... love you videos... i was wondering if you have any recipes for a banana cake or a carrot cake... thanks!! keep the videos coming!!!!!!!

  • @hadasarbit22 Yes, I did Banana Cake recently - check out my other videos ;)

  • could I use like melted chocolate or peanut butter instead?

  • @MrButterworth24 Sounds like a plan ;)

  • I like creaming butter and sugar together, the end result is yummy. xP

  • Your sweet, I wish you were my dad :P

  • I love your videos!

  • if i dont have that type of suger can i use white suger instead?

  • Good vid!

  • My mom used to make these all the time when I was a kid, she called them thumb print cookies. Looks so good

  • Is there a particular reason why you mix the sugar into the butter first instead of the flour?

  • @heelrunner It's called "creaming" the sugar and butter together. It helps to get some air into the butter and makes the cookies lighter and more delicate ;)

  • You really shouldnt show this recipe. Its dangereous. Im really an "out-of-the-oven" kinda guy, and these look so delicious im gonna burn my tounge to pieces=(

  • @Ffojt I somehow never burnt my tongue, but both my hands have burn marks. Haha.

  • is there any special reason why you let the cookies cool down in a wire rack? im new into baking.

  • @123peche as they cool on the wire rack, the cookies firm up ;)

  • is there any special reason for letting the biscuits cool down in a wire rack? im new into baking.

  • I love you....could you please say the amounts in american measurements too?? Pretty Please??

  • @katgrrrrl99 If you go onto Google, you can search for a "Australian Metric Conversion Chart" which you can download and print. Then you can do all your own conversions ;)

  • <3333

  • If I bake them w/o the jam, can I use chocolate when they're done?

    I know I'm naughty...

  • @Lighter1222 Yes, you can replace the jam with chocolate :)

  • well... i so want to learn cooking now:P

  • Omg, I think you are a genius.

  • can we use grape jelly/jam?

  • @dinosaurfreak13 Sure - you can use any flavor jam you like ;)

  • I did these last weekend and they didn't last 5 minutes, in fact they hadn't even cooled completely before they'd all been devoured! Absolute success and I'll be making them again for sure. Thanks David!

  • I used to make these with my mom! They are so good

  • Things look so yummy! I'de love to bake these for my parents ^.^

    Thanks!

  • everytime i watch you cook i want to jump through my computer screen and eat all your food! hahahaha...mmmmmmmmm yyyyyuuuuummmmm.

  • so when u bake it looking at the video does the jam harden up???

  • @maplepoon When they first come out of the oven, the jam is scolding hot and semi-liquid. The jam will firm up as it cools ;)

  • Mmmm, reminds me of Ben&Jerry's cookie dough vanilla ice cream :-P

  • yum

  • We made these a couple of weeks ago for my DP's morning tea, and they were a huge hit! Never thought to use icing sugar in a biscuit recipe, but hey, it works! Thanks again, David!

  • i love it!!I'll do it tomorrow or some other time

  • great the song of the intro , it looks very delicious, i want one.

  • The first OnePotChef recipe I tried and unlike most things I try and bake, it came out a) Edible and b) Looking like food! Thanks!

  • @badongism LOL I guarantee all of my food is edible and looks like food hehehe

  • Make a book OR type up all your recipes and offer them as a "book". Email it to people ,I will pay for it.

  • way too much butter and sugary stuff.

i gained 10 pounds just watching it.

  • @orangedac It's totally healthy as it contains fruit LOL

  • I agree with the CHEF!

  • @orangedac -- I agree! absolutely healthy!

  • *Thank

  • hank you for recipe. The cookies turned out perfect. David, you're the best!

  • @asdfgh0786 Thanks - glad you liked them ;)

  • I too made these biscuits last night, they were very tasty and yummy with Raspberry jam .Thanks a lot David

  • @brk2005 mmmmm raspberry jam sounds lovely!

  • I made these last night they were very good. My husband and I ate way too many of them lol.

  • @RavenCK That always happens with these hehehe

  • for a different twist add some custard powder to the dough ... DELICIOUS!!

  • @kcsinify Sounds good - I might try that next time :)

  • these biscuits look lovely, looking forward to trying them, by the way, I love your presenting skills, the cadence of your accent is great, love your channel : )

  • @honeyflowerchild Thanks - glad you liked them ;)

  • Just tried it for my gf and she loves it!!!...Her favourite jam is Raspberry so i didnt use strawberry... Thanks so much!! =)

  • @branjobu96 Raspberry Jam is great for these - I'm glad you and your gf liked them ;)

  • shit, i hate watching this when i don't have the ingredients and i'm starving! i can't stop watching! torcherer!

  • @mebeluvined That's always a nightmare!

  • I make these for Christmas every year, except I don't add powdered sugar. That might be good to add though. Maybe it will make them a little sweeter, teehee.

  • @HomemadeCafe Yes, it does make them slightly sweeter - plus it's quicker and easier to cream it into the butter ;)

  • I'm sorry to bother you with such a question but 200g of butter/marg. how much would that be say in tsp./cups? <.<;; I used 1 cup of marg. they came out soft and chewy rather than lightly crunchy with a soft middle...not that I'm complaining or anything! XD But what would be your estimation on how much I should use?

....also what type of eggs are you using? They look red-ish orange to me....O.o? All my eggs are yellow-orange, so I'm curious!

  • @misswarchan 200g of Butter would be about 3/4 of a cup (roughly)

I just use normal generic brand eggs. It's possible the lighting and the camera have slightly altered the colour. They are usually fairly orange yolks though ;)

  • I don't have any plain flour. What would happen if i used self raising flour with this? Would it screw up or just go a bit puffier?

  • @MMEggman Self Raising will make them slightly more cakey rather than crunchy. So if you are ok with that - go for it ;)

  • My sister makes these for Christmas every year. She calls them thumbprint cookies. Yummy!! Best a bit warm with a cup of coffee, tea, cocoa, whatever you fancy!

  • @gcarped I was enjoying them with a nice cup of coffee earlier - heaven!

  • YUMMY :P Your very charming ;) I would eat anything you cooked or baked!

  • @cosmobud Right? David is my new best friend. (Well, a girl can wish, right?)

  • @cosmobud Why thank you!

  • Thanks for the great recipe, here in the United States we call them thumb print cookies.

Will try your recipe sometime. Thanks

  • @sazara123 You're welcome ;)

  • I'm personally not a fan of adding the jam to them, so what we do is put a hershey kiss in right after they come out of the oven

  • @Benboy207 Wow that sounds yummy - you can also drop a mini marshmallow in the hole - really really nice!

  • can i use white sugar instead? I don't have icing sugar..have to walk 30 minutes to the grocery to get it?

  • @unreasonable2 Use castor sugar if you have it, otherwise plain white sugar should be ok. I use Icing Sugar as it's easier to cream into the butter (and quicker!)

  • lol that "see ya later" sounds so sexual

  • @LoftyProduction LOL you should hear me say "hello" then hehehe

  • David where have you been all my life? LOL These biscuits bring back such good memories for me, used to love eating these! Thank you so much for the recipe I can't wait to start making them!!

  • @hilaryduff1991 180 degrees Celsius ;)

  • These are fabulous cookies. My granny made them all the time when I would visit her.

P.S. I made the Puff Pastry Pies (I used pork/bacon in one and chicken/ham in the other) for a friends birthday party this weekend. I made them in appetizer size (the size you made but cut into four more smaller pieces). They were a hit!! I had leftovers and the birthday boy insisted he take the rest home. How could I say no....lol. Thx again for another recipe that I enjoyed making and eating....yummmy :)

  • @THERANDOMNESS84 The jam won't burn, they aren't in the oven long enough ;)

  • like like like umm j'adore

  • @alleunamme978 Merci ;)

  • Oh YES!!! They look delicious!! I'm going to have to go and buy a jar of jam now especially. :)

  • @bReNtOs1236 Thanks - glad you guys enjoy my videos :)

  • lol put your thumb into the balls, nice simple recipe I'll be sure to try this one.

  • @aloo20 I was wondering how long it would take for someone to find that bit dirty LOL

  • why did you use margarine? personally i prefer butter, is more healthy, will it make a difference if a use either one? oh, thanks for answering people's comments, that's why your one of my favorite bloggers.

  • @valer123451 I used canola-based margarine - which is generally healthier than using full-fat butter. I chose to use it as it's already soft, while butter takes a while to soften. You can use either with no real difference in taste. Just remember the butter needs to be soft before using it :)

Thanks for watching and commenting ;)
