@ThuSkyline theres a difference between taking logo and taking tune. i should know i play guitar myself, what noel did was take the tune out jumble a few notes round and played it in a different tempo, its not like he covered it or anything and its not like its note for note.

Yea, I play too. Since I was 13 (I'm 19). And everyone in their right mind knows that Noel has a habit of ripping off melodies. And considering this is just 1 of the cases where he's done that, I'm pretty sure it's not by accident.

Something that struck me odd was how he, of all people, got pissed when he thought Green Day ripped off Wonderwall. The logic of this man astounds me.

Writing new melodies over old chord progressions has been a very common thing in music since the jazz era. Haven't you ever heard of a 12-bar blues? You can literally play one blues progression over and over, but every time play a new melody that was written over that progression. Please, everyone complaining about this being a "copy"...don't.

This song has so much power when it is played slowly like this. The live versions are all played too fast in my opinion and the song loses something as a result - the first drummer was the best one they had - Im sure they had their reasons for sacking him but his feel and tempo were spot on and the drummers who were in the band later never matched it. Id give my left nut to play drums in Oasis and could instantly bring back the vibe thats been missing for a while - give us a call Noel.

@ozbt63 Tony McCarroll played the drums on this track. Oasis have had a lot of other good drummers since - Alan White, Zak Starkey, Chris Sharrock. What makes it so good is he played for the song, great sound, simple and straight down the line.
