Did they at least announce ahead of time that they were going to shut down? I think it would be devastating to see all of those memories crushed without any warning. One more year could have been good enough to stop on but with the ending given here it just feels sad.
No ones ever a fan of change but sadly things come and go. Children animation quite frankly died some time ago. Toonami wasn't what it was during it's final few years and I believe that has to do with the fact that it always was no longer competing with the other afternoon blocks of Kids WB and Fox Kids. The 90's were an awesome time to be growing up and watching all of those shows but hey things moves on. See ya in TV heaven Tom.
I agree. Stuff moves in cycles. There are periods of growth followed by lulls and declines. The 90's happened to be a period of batshit-insane growth in animation, with influences coming in from everywhere. It was a simple case of "what-goes-up-must-come-down".
Toonami is gone, but I'm thankful for the memories. I'm sure that, someday, our kids will see something like it, and we'll be there to watch it with 'em. Until then, hey, we still have most of those shows on DVD! ^_^

If i wasnt for Toonami, CN wouldnt be where they are now. They kept going for 11 years, and for 11 years they gave what the fans wanted. But overall Toonami was the best thing that could ever happen to me. If it wernt for them i wouldnt have been so into anime. Technically they were CN. Rising Sun, Midnight run etc. All of that is what made Toonami such a legend. They even had music videos and they rated games. They had everything. But they may be gone but not forgotten. Thank you Toonami.

All I can say is thanks for the memories. Toonami was a part of my life. It was that thing at the end of the day that took all my troubles away. Action anima, I didn't even know what the hell it was until Toonami. Yes, I don't let its ending get to me, I did at first... But I did move on. Toonami was on for 11 years. Thats how long I watched it. 11 years. Zoids. Yu-Gi-Oh. Naruto. Bobobo-Bo-Bobo. IT WAS JUST AMAZING! Toonami will always live on in our hearts as long as Action Anima still plays!!!

Actually I remember several instances where Toonami was off for a period of time. So I think it'll come back, possibly in the near future. I remember toonami being taken off several times and coming back. I highly doubt that this is permanent. Cartoon Network is not going to let itself go down the shitter and risk losing so many viewers. How much you guys wanna bet it'll come back on in the near future?

Cartoon network only wants the things that makes it Cartoon network not Tv Tokyo, Viz, or TV A. But Toonami tried and they gave us their best moments. So its best to hang on to the memories and move on. (Not to Toonzai though ..)

Well there goes the highlight of cartoon network. Remember when it was on evvery day? Then only saturday nights, And now gone. Heres to eleven good years. Cartoon network is starting to rot of ridiculous shows now without this.
They had low ratings because they were trying to skew to an older crowed. They had PG-rated Naruto, they were showing animated movies like Hellboy and Iron Man, etc. That sounds great and all but they were airing this during primetime on a Saturday night. Usually older people were out during that time. And younger kids weren't going to watch that stuff. So who was really watching? Hardly anyone. Moving to Saturdays and trying to target to an older demographic was the kiss of death to Toonami.
I grew up with this block! Ever since I was 3 years old I started watching Dragon Ball Z. If it weren't for this I would never be a fan of anime or the tomboy I am today. *Sniff,sniff*
Though I must admit, they really screwed up in 2008 when they started airing little kids' anime, and I started to stop watching it after that...

There were some exceptions but thats what Toonami was good at. there were anime that people wanted so they gave it to them but eventhough Cartoon network told them to edit anything that seem "not for children" they still went on and showed the shows anyway. But as the years went by they started to lose funds from CN and eventually they faded away to their last brodcasting.

this is horrible. i remember when toonami first came out. i used to watch it every day when i came home from school. miguzi replaced it a few years ago and moved toonami to saturday nights only. i always hoped theyd bring it back to weekdays but much to my dismay that didn't happen and the broadcasts only got worse. naruto kept it alive but now that these filler episodes are being aired there's a dramatic decrease in viewers. thus, toonami is dead. i still hope they might one day return..

Actually I remember several instances where Toonami was off for a period of time. So I think it'll come back, possibly in the near future. I remember toonami being taken off several times and coming back. I highly doubt that this is permanent. Cartoon Network is not going to let itself go down the shitter and risk losing so many viewers. How much you guys wanna bet it'll come back on in the near future?

Cartoon network only wants the things that makes it Cartoon network not Tv Tokyo, Viz, or TV A. But Toonami tried and they gave us their best moments. So its best to hang on to the memories and move on. (Not to Toonzai though ..)

Toonami should have their own channel featureing their OWN anime and etc. they're better than Cartoon Network. Toonami was the reason why Cartoon Network had so many ratings back in the earlier days like Zoids, Gundam, DragonBallZ, etc. Now CN is just as stupid as CN Real, the only thing now thats holding onto Anime is Adult Swim Saturdays. Sheesh Toonami, had game rating, music videos, and a MINI SERIES. c'mon now...I miss Toonami.

They had low ratings because they were trying to skew to an older crowed. They had PG-rated Naruto, they were showing animated movies like Hellboy and Iron Man, etc. That sounds great and all but they were airing this during primetime on a Saturday night. Usually older people were out during that time. And younger kids weren't going to watch that stuff. So who was really watching? Hardly anyone. Moving to Saturdays and trying to target to an older demographic was the kiss of death to Toonami.

There were some exceptions but thats what Toonami was good at. there were anime that people wanted so they gave it to them but eventhough Cartoon network told them to edit anything that seem "not for children" they still went on and showed the shows anyway. But as the years went by they started to lose funds from CN and eventually they faded away to their last brodcasting.

this is horrible. i remember when toonami first came out. i used to watch it every day when i came home from school. miguzi replaced it a few years ago and moved toonami to saturday nights only. i always hoped theyd bring it back to weekdays but much to my dismay that didn't happen and the broadcasts only got worse. naruto kept it alive but now that these filler episodes are being aired there's a dramatic decrease in viewers. thus, toonami is dead. i still hope they might one day return..

1)A theory of Toonami's Cancellation is because of Jewish ppl that eiter payed or forced cn to do so.
2)Another theory is because They were getting less viewers and cartoon network need more time for they're idiotic shows.
