@ichirootaniguchi they got popular with their videos back when they were on imovie, I'm sure they've moved on by now though to final cut like you say.
Does the firmware of the DLUX improve image quality comapred to the LX5 is the question nobody has answered anywhere online that I can see. I would like to see side by side JPEG & RAW comparisons of the 2 camera brothers...
The $300 price Ive concluded is worth the extra money. I'll be stepping up to the Leica big pro sensor. I will be shooting in RAW and the software included will help enhance RAW photos. Also the Leica firmware seems cleaner than the LX5. Since I consider myself a photog the extra money is worth the long term investment use of this camera. If a was just an amateur snapper I would have went for the cheaper LX5...
I don't understand why anyone would buy this. Why not get the LX5, it has the same features but is cheaper and it looks better. The LX5 has a nice grip on the front too which makes it easier to hold.
hey, just wondering. How easy are these compact "dslr" type cameras to use in full manual mode? I guess I prefer manual, and I noticed there was only turny knob thingy, so it seems a little inconvenient for full manual. But, it looks like it takes great pictures.

hi i know it's a bit random but what would you suggest to buy:
d lux 5 or v lux 30? n why in short
thx
nana10lv 6 months ago
@nana10lv I purchased the D-lux 5 over the V-lux 30 because of the following:
1. RAW format
2. f2.0 Aperture
3. Lightroom 3

Why the D-LUX 5 at the review doesn't have that silver ring around the second section of the lens you may see in other D-LUX 5??
