  • Waldo Stakes and Ken Mason test the Sonic Wind ice racer at Bob Lazar's "Desert blast" In the late 1990s. A valve hung up during the firing and the 2,200 lb. thrust LR-11 rocket engine pulse fired instead of running cleanly. Stubborn people would not keep away from the vehicle because they were drunk or jut plain dumb but the vehicle firing scared them away like children. Conclusion: Real rockets are real scary!
