Obama will invite the robber barons over to sit down and have tea and a polite chat :-(
Hillary will organize a commission to study the robber barons and then delay taking action against them for as long as possible in exchange for donations from the same :-(
Edwards will punch the robber barons in the jaw, knee them in the balls, and force them to stop sending jobs to China and poisoning the environment :-)
Obama seems like an empty suit, just slinging catchphrases without specifics and without any idea of how to implement things. John is willing to FIGHT, and has proven he can fight in his law careeer.
Thank you John Edwards, for speaking for all those working men and women who toil away in miserable and unsatisfying jobs every day for a pittance.
What really bothers me is when people say that, because he is a successful lawyer, he cannot speak for working Americans who struggle to get by. That is bullshit -- he is out there speaking for us every day; and he speaks for us quite well.
If Obama is your man, then go to his vids and talk him up. Why are you cutting and pasting the same negative comment in all of Edwards' videos? How would you like it if someone found an unpopular vote Barack made, and a poor decision he made and pasted it all over his vids? Edwards knows he has made mistakes, he even says when he's wrong. You can find this type of stuff on any candidate. Is this all you got?
I really do like what he said about special interest groups. . . however, when Dems start talking about inequality ("Two Americas"), the first thought that comes to my mind is, "Oh great, more taxes." Dems have always tackled inequality via tax revisions. That's nothing new. Why can't they find an innovative, new way of NOT bringing the rich down to the level of the poor, but bringing the poor to the level of the rich? THAT would be a feat.
"bringing the rich down to the level of the poor" - what a revealing comment! You are probably one of those who envisions "the poor" as black criminals.
Not everyone can be a millionaire, because then being a millionaire would mean nothing. At the same time, if a small group of people are getting astonishingly rich while everyone else struggles, it is a real problem.
Not at all what I meant.I promise that. What I mean is taking from the rich to give to the poor via taxes. Frankly, it doesn't matter whether being a millionaire means anything. It matters that people live at a higher standard of living.Lowering the rich's standard of living to bring the poor's standard of living up is not new or innovative (granted, not that having 50 cars is all that important, but they still worked for it).
What I'm proposing is that the government find ways to have the poor's economic situation improved without dimishing the rich's situation at all. The rich MANY TIMES (not ALL of the time) did take BIG risks to get what they have. I know really rich people who were really poor at one point. But, they sacrificed homes and their savings accounts to make big risks, and now they're hugely rich.

If You're Thinking About Voting For John Edwards...
...First ask yourself these questions.
Did you know that John Edwards acted critical of offshore tax shelters for the wealthy in 2004 and then in 2005 he worked as a consultant for the Fortress Investment Group whose hedge funds were incorporated in the Cayman Islands?
Do you agree with his vote in favor of the 2001-2002 bankruptcy reform bill which has hurt many lower income families in this country?

When originally conceived, the income tax was only to apply to the most wealthy citizens (during WWII).
