  • and again in the name

  • most litrs about truth are liars

    niggers

bulshit artists with no long standing trruth

    dia again . black ass

  • It's a shame, a lot of people do not know what this song is about, and do not know about the MLK reference. Great video!

  • As somebody who lived through that era I can say that MLK's accomplishments and courage far outweigh the negatives (skirt chaser, manipulative, controlling, obsessive)-I don't believe that one-dimensional people are capable of great achievements on the scale of his

  • Blessed may you be whatever realm you grace with your compassionate and courageous spirit, Reverend King. No words can express my gratitude for your sacrifices and those of the people you inspired and continue to inspire. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo <3

  • Very powerful with the combonation of the song and the images. Thanks for uploading.

  • Wow, great song! :D Let's try not to forget Dr. King's messages; he was WAAY ahead of his time. :)

    Peace~

  • "...Free at last, they took your life, but they could not take your pride" Always brings a tear to my eye

  • this man, one of the key people of the 20th century brovo u2!

  • Perfect video tribute to MLK with the song that was written for him! In remembrance....

  • R.I.P. Mr. King, a true hero in my eyes

  • My favorite line: "Early morning, April 4. Shot rings out in the Memphis sky. Free at last, they took your life. They could not take your pride!" His life may have ended that April day, but his spirit lives on, even today!

  • I post today FOR HIM! The people of a different color where I live continue to degrade themselves further & further by their actions. They opress themselves by their life styles & their choices. We HAVE TO teach by example, teach your children the right way so they may carry the msg. Be one or get out of the way or leave the country. we are AMERICANS ,not Asian Americans, African Mexican just AMERICANS. educate yourselves constantly or shut up. Peace to us all. Rick Wichita Ks.

  • I would like to think Dr. King would be happy to see the progress made in America.

  • Great song honoring two of my most loved historical figures, Jesus and Martin Luther King Jr. We must still strive to make MLK's dream come true!

  • Happy Birthday, Martin! I wish, you were alive to see what America is today. Your a legend, Icon, Inspiration always. Rest in piece! fly high IN THE NAME OF LIFE <3

  • Gob Bless you MLK happy Birthday Martin Luther King

  • God bless you, MLK. May your dream live on.

  • remembering the Reverend Dr. on his day

  • I have a dream...that this sweet earth be respected, and all those who tread upon it, do so with love and peace.

  • a great man, Dr. King, honored in song by a great Irish band

  • I wish that we just had one or two around today with one tenth of the conviction and COURAGE of this MAN.

  • RIP MLK, your dream will live on.

  • How can 16 people hate this song, if you hate this song then you have no love in your heart.

  • ONE MORE IN THE NAME OF LOVE! GANDHI, JESUS.... etc. Humans kill those that try and help them, there never needs to be a devil, we are evil enough all on our own.

  • We need leaders like him today, those who will do the right thing, not just those looking to get headlines... :(

  • Thank you for posting. My dad is 68 my niece 21 myself 47 and all generations are so moved by this. To think this band wrote this in their early 20s. Going to MLK conference in Detroit on the 11th of this month...wish U2 could be there to perform this. That would be awesome!!!!

  • a teacher put this on class xD

  • long live dr king, fuck the kkk & racist

  • @freddieprize AMEN BROTHER!!

  • An Irish rock band made a beautiful song for a American hero...and yet these American rappers just talk about money and asses.

"FREE AT LAST, THEY TOOK YOUR LIFE, THEY COULD NOT TAKE YOUR PRIDE" MLK RIP: U2 legends

  • @ftwfckyea not tupac, but sadly he was taken just like MLK :C

  • @ftwfckyea I also think that the American black community hasn't had a leader since the Reverend Dr. or Malcom X. At least a leader of their caliber.

  • @eisenkreuzmusik Malcolm X towards the end of his life left the Nation of "Islam" on his trip to the city of Mekkah,he exposed elijah muhammad, farrakhan and the rest of them and payed the price with his life...but towards the end of his life he dropped the whole black movement thing because he converted to Islam, and met pale white skinned Muslims in Mekkah and was mesmerized by the brotherhood by people of all nations and races uniting under one cause, regardless of skin color

  • @ftwfckyea thats why rock will never die

  • I am from BOSNIA and I simply love this man.

    RIP DR.KING

  • Amazing. He was amazing. Whoever dares kill him when all he wants is peace and equality should suffer, burn, choke, die, when they return where they came from. Martin Luther King is a legend. R.I.P, Martin Luther King.

  • @KaijuKing yes thats true but he wouldn't want that ether for them he just wanted everybody to accept differences and come together as one it wouldn't be peaceful if they had to die to it would just be creating a bigger problem peace consist of suffering if you don't suffer you really can say you have had peace in your life so i understand where your coming from but you also got to understand what martin wanted....

  • @ashley101verve I understand that my sister posted the comment and shes 10 so please understand where she is comming from/

  • Sainthood!

  • Both are Capricorns ,M.L KING 15 january,Jesus 25 decembar:))Maybe becouse:))

  • This song is about M.L KING really.Any idiots not listen the text and say it s a song about Jesus.

EArly Morning April 4,shot rings out in the Memphis sky.

Day when M.L kING was Killed!

  • @Ennzo51Mr It's about both. Bono is a deeply religious Christian who works references to Jesus in most of his songs. Yes part of the song is definitely about MLK (he may even be the main subject of the song) but he's definitely comparing his martyrdom to that of Jesus. The line "one man betrayed with a kiss" is quite obviously a reference to the story of Judas's betrayal of Jesus to the romans. So yeah, the song's about both.

  • @Ennzo51Mr its about jesus and MLK

i think it is saying that MLK was doing what jesus wants us to do

  • @Ennzo51Mr I think it makes parallels between Jesus and MLK. They both sacrificed themselves for the good of others

  • #OccupyWallStreet !

  • Check out the new MLK song "FULL JUSTICE" on Youtube. Get ready to be inspired. Watch it now!!

  • i dont think this song is about dr. king. in some of the lyrics he talks about Jesus.

And its funny how people called the 14 or 15 people kkk or illuminaty followers. where is the love in that? thats just hate right there.

  • god rest this mans soul

he was a smart man who wrote a brillient speech

  • 14 true KKK's sons of cumsuckers!!

NO+SANGRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am proud to be American and of Irish & Mexican descent. I love my people, Love everyone. this song is so powerful, meaning full my 8 year old brother whenever we are in the truck we blast it with the windows down we all rock out he sings!

I saw Hollywood U2 the other night, this was soo siick!

  • What a beautiful song. I feel motivated and invigorated everytime this song played. So powerful!!!

  • Yes, Whitey can look into another person's eyes and see the humanity that resides there. And, if Whitey shows caracter, they will treasure it....

  • One day all of us getting a job will set us free.

  • PRIDE in the name of love - U2

Born This Way - Lady Gaga

Am I messed to love both artists?

  • @zhangvict1 It's a little odd...

  • @zhangvict1 i love all types of music......less rap....but raps ok.......LOVE EVERYTHING FROM COUNTRY-ROCK-METAL-POP......unintentional rhyme.........

  • Terrific!

  • MLK and Ron Paul...There are good men and then there are great men! Vote for Freedom and Liberty! RON PAUL 2012...don't forget your pride!

  • @elchistosoII

Please don't write dumb shit on an inspirational video like this. Who spells the Ku Klux Klan with a "c"? 14 persons? You mean "people"? Cut the conspiracy crap, get educated and make a difference...

  • @elchistosoII some even speculated king was a mason.... just saying...

  • @elchistosoII the kkk still exists? I thought those fuckers were extinct.

  • This is so awesome! I love this...please check out my MLK version :)

  • AHORA FALTA UN LIDER LATINOAMERICANO EN E.U. PARA DEFENDER LOS DERECHOS DE LOS EMIGRADOS ALLA Y SE UNAN TODOS. SI LOS NEGROS PUDIERON, PORQUE LOS LATINOAMERICANOS NO?

  • @onixplata ele ablava por todos los humanos

  • MLK is the truth.

  • they took his life, but not his pride

  • i think it could be Jesus too because of " one man betrayed with a kiss" and Jesus was betroyed by Judas, right?

  • @pezzzado31 Jesus should have been a really cool guy, its been said somewhere, that he used to kiss Maria Magdalena on the mouth, and at that time, that was not very common.

  • @markoctavio i dont thinks so about Maria Magdalena but ok

imagine a Jesus confernece it would be nice

  • im white, its horrible how we have treated african americans in this country... glad to see U2 getting it. MLK's dream will never die! we are all sons of god and brothers of the USA... we need to appreciate what black people have gone threw and treat each other with equality and love... what a great inspiring song

  • @adub4ever well U2 are irish not white american so they feel no guilt only respect

  • This made me cry. Simply beautiful. God bless Martin and Coretta King forever.

  • Brilliant video; in fact, it sort of actually feels much like a U2 music video because the music is so very fitting.

  • Hermoso video la verdad me agrado la combinación de las imagenes con la canción de U2 y de Marton Luther King. El fue un gran guerrero de luz, un emisario de la nueva generación de paz, amor y luz.

Beautiful video, really I'like that combination between pictures, videos and the song from U2 and Martin Luther King. He was a warrior light, and emissary for this new generation of peace, love and light.

  • God Bless MLK.

Visit holylove.org; it is the word of God.

  • Love this video. Only thing wrong is at the end it erroneously cites this song as havning been released in 1988 when it was actually on their 1984 "the Unforgettable Fire" album.

  • Classic song about an inspirational human being!

  • WE ARE ALL THE SAME, NO ONE IS MORE THAN OTHER!

  • I like the Civies & Cole version it's the one I grew up with

  • I remember his furneral. On tv. I was very young. Kennedy was just shot. This man got shot. Not that I was so young here. Now at an older age and understanding things. this is a total tribute from bono to MLF. I will not let the african/american society believe that we did not in fact love this history, or Martin Luther King.

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!

  • @blambo45 donkey fool spaz...ya might be a .....

  • @blambo45 donkey fool spaz...ya might be a .....redneck

  • @blambo45 you make me ashamed to be human, much less white. that means we have got something in common.

  • the line is.."ONE MORE in the name of love"..showing MLK followed in the footsteps of other great leaders before him who tried to make a difference in the world (God, Ghandi, etc.)

  • @miketb42 It is What more. It is not one more. Look it up, including U2's own website, it is what more.

  • @MichaelRunninger Happy Birthday!

  • Martin Luther King was a king of justify ..

  • RIP

  • 362,225

  • He might have lost his life on April 4th but they did not take his "PRIDE"

I love U2 makes me proud to be part Irish/American!

  • April 4! This is better than the original U2 video.

  • + 4. April 1968. Rest in Peace Martin Luther King. This song is for you.

  • This video gives me goosebumps. Awesome tribute.

  • a great man ! same as nelson mandela !!

  • it's actually "one man in the name of love"

  • I dont want to sound like a kill joy about this song, cause i love it,s meaning, but Dr Martin Luther King as a man of God and his teachings, would not have any PRIDE in his heart... he would of died a "HUMBLE" man, he had no PRIDE to take.... All i'm sayin is that Dr King preached Gods word and pride is a sin in the bible... Sorry Bonno

  • Comment removed

  • @jussyboye actually bud, this very same question was brought up on,mtv news,in bonnos book, and when conan o'brian interviewd the edge.(u2 member!) see,(self) pride is a sin,but they were refering to,martins pride in,his race, god, love, his country, and humaninty!! they could take his life, but not his pride in those things or his love! get it? the message rings very true! love, pride, and peace!! beautiful message! for a beautiful man! in the name of love!

  • thanks for a fantastic video ! i love u2

  • I love this song - superb images & everything toaccompany it too. Thanks. :-)

Just one small thing though - is Bono really singing "*What more* in the name of Love?" Or are the lyrics actually "*One more ..*" or even "Once more in thename of love " as I've always thought? Not that its important just curious.

  • MLK the man <3

U2!!! forever, legends come play so cal.

Makes me proud to be part irish ^^^

  • Every time I hear this song,my hair on my back still rises, and dream, One day, One day. Love will conquer all.

  • @loveshackartandphoto Same feeling!! Exactly!!

  • Great video, touching, but why are there not more pictures of MLK & the Kennedy's together, especially Bobby Kennedy:)

  • Brilliant video of a great man! Not a perfect man, nor a saint, but a man with faults like so many of those we see as being the finest to grace mankind (including the Kennedy brothers, Ghandhi, Mandela, Sagan, DaVinci, my son & father, and GMDL that top my list), make this world a better place! Their powerful messages teach us to be compassionate, tolerant, accepting (to truly listen to each other's message in spite of our faults) so that we can move forward together in unity.

  • Dr King was a superb specimen of a man. A man way ahead of his time. He had great dignity - and yes - pride. No other single person through out history did more to try and unify the races and bring eqaulity to America. His assassination was a disgrace to mankind. But, it did wake white America up, brought it to it's senses! Or better, shamed them into change!

  • My favourite person of all time. I don't think Dr King had a bad bone in his body. You can see it - study him - it's there in the expressions, the mood, the eloquence of which he conducts himself. Not a bad song this to describe him. A dedicated proud man. An example of how men should act towards their brothers and sisters.

  • Amazing video, beautiful dedication to a truly amazing man. "What more in the name of love?"

  • danielohim love the vid and the music but could u put the words martin luther king said in ENGLISH

  • Let me just say that I am thankful that the niggers made this a holiday where we Whites can get the day off in the urban areas, where we Whites can at least spend that day away from the niggers and liberals who want to glorify this dope smoking commie woman beater.

MLK was a communist as well as a whore! He must also be a hypocrite since he deems himself a "man of God"!

  • The lyrics of this song are perfect for describing Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he accomplished. It shows how influential just one man can be on the world.

  • @al74312 amen! god bless MLK for making a difference.

  • The lyrics of this song are perfect for describing Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he accomplished. It shows how influential just one man can be on the world.

  • If there were more people like him, the world would be such a better place.

  • This video does a great job of showing how brave and inspiring Martin Luther King was. He really made a huge difference.

  • I can't imagine having the bravery it took to do what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did. Standing against those police with their dogs, water canons, nightsticks, and eventually a gun. Brave, brave man.

  • Dr. King was an extremely brilliant man who was not afraid to stand out and tell the world how things should be. This video portrays him almost as a Jesus-type individual; one who trusted in people and spread his beliefs knowing what his fate would someday be. He's an absolutely inspiring individual who died to make the world a better place.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. was an extraordinary individual whose dedication and fuel for African American rights reiterated this country's proclamation of freedom for every individual. This song highlights the impact that one man's vision can have upon the world.

  • reli and pop e format what up!

  • What a selfless man. Willing to risk and give up his life for his country and mankind.

  • Yes is a band with great lyrics I put U2 up there with thier lyrics as well. And phenomanol music. Thanks U2 and thanks for posting.

  • Martin Luther King was an amazing African American. He was very strong minded individual and helped others fight for freedom. For this I'm very grateful for his pride for black Americans.

  • my teacher showed us this today

  • MLK's principles of passive resistance and patient demonstration should definitely be used even in our own daily lives to stand up for what we know to be right and stand against what we know to be wrong.

  • ♥ Respect!! ♥

  • Wonderful song ..wonderful man!!

    Respect!!

    xoxo

  • screw all u racetards that thumbed this vid down! u just prove MLK's msg. to be more louder n bombastic n that his words hold as strong as all the ppl that liked this vid!

  • Thank God vermin like Shockofgod like to hide behind their keyboards and therefore have no real impact or influence on anyone. Imagine the horror if they did :(

  • A great song for a great man.

  • Thank you U2 for a great song for a great man.

  • i had a dream...all night...crazy dream

    think i'll have another

what more, in the name of love

but by the substance of his character

  • To say derogatory comments about a man who did his best to change a country, and who was great enough to have a national holiday for the celebration of his life and work just makes you look like a fool!

  • "America is essentially a dream"

    Truer words were never spoken.

    Keep dreaming.

  • Ten people need love.

  • It was funny how I could mute the beginning and still understand what he was saying.

  • Thank God for MLK he is awesome

  • @shockofgod

streetpreacherusa disagrees with that and he has more christballs than you ;)

  • @shockofgod

In the video you made about coughlan616 you skipped his question about you doing password phishing on purpose. Coughlan asked you about your phishing schemes and you fast forwarded like a mofo.

  • @allianceofdemons

Why can't you morons just enjoy some good music and stop fighting?!

  • @vadennotbaden

    offtopic much?

  • @allianceofdemons

    misspell things much?

  • @shockofgod

Guess what! I found some old videos about your shockawenow channel and the videos you deleted on shockofgod. I like it when people have mirror channels of you :P Once again, shocky boy BUSTED

  • @allianceofdemons check your fbi file. My friend Mark Thomas helped me find out that you are in big trouble. Good luck getting a job. That church burning you did is a serious matter.

  • @shockofgod

LoL wut? Does he even exist or is it one of your other made up friends like your sky daddy? You've been sucking the gawd cawk for quite some time.

  • @allianceofdemons Check your fbi file.

  • @shockofgod

You don't have one on me and I have one on you. BUSTED shocky boy. By the way, if you get your channel suspended soon, then keep in mind that it is YOUR doing because I now reported you for stalking. I recorded your comment where you said you know where I live and that draws the line. If you get your channel suspended soon, it is your own gawd damn fault. Bye bye sucker!

  • @shockofgod You do realize that AoD is more than one person? FAIL.

  • @UberUberLegend91

There is one comment he made that is no longer here because I reported it. He basically told me that he uses his fbi friend to find out where I live.

  • @shockofgod Do you even know what the FBI does? You threatened Vogter w/ that same line and he doesn't live in the US.

  • @shockofgod You should check yours. Remember the Phishing of 2008 and 2009 does that ring any bells Shockyboy?

  • @shockofgod

ha u mad u mad. Good to know that you are butthurt after the bust. It's only a matter of time before your channel gets banned once again. A fail troll like you doesn't belong on this website.

  • @shockofgod You must realize how ridiculous this is! Not believable AT ALL & so soon after you've been exposed!

#1 IF 'M Thomas' DID get info via the FBI, you wouldn't give out his name.

#2 If the FBI had info someone burned down a church, they'd be in jail.

#3 Only jobs with law enforcement, jobs handling large amounts of cash & jobs having access to sensitive personal info about clients do background checks.

I don't blame you for not showing that face, please continue... for the children!

  • Dr. King was a radical when we needed one -- radically non-violent and adamantly peaceful. I remember him from my early childhood, and I really believed in the message of hope he spread. Even at 10, I wept when he was killed, because I knew people would be angry, filled with rage. But amazingly, his words and work live on, and that's something to be glad about.

  • Great song from one of the alltime great bands. Back when they were at the height of their powers.

  • Pride (In The Name Of Love) - U2 [Dublin, Ireland] - No.33 on 12/1/1984. 5 weeks Top 40 - "AMG pick. A tribute to Rev. Martin Luther King." - The Unforgettable Fire (Island)-1984.

  • Wow what a fitting tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. the song and the images fit so well together for a long time i had no idea that this song was written about him but good job well done

  • I have a friend who hates black people and even claims that he knows a black person that is racist against his own kind...I think he is a moron...
