kept him dead in Angel because it was such a selfless thing how he let himself die to save the world and finally redeemed himself and so that should be that so thats its beautiful and not just a passing thing.
The act itself (dying) doesn't become less beautiful or heroic imo because how was Spike to know that his death was only temporary? How did know that he would return as a ghost a few weeks later? As for how the (to begin with) the writers doing Angel made him a little less serious and a little less outwardly in love with Buffy than what was necessary is another story. In the end though, it worked out nicely.
I too always wanted to see a Spike and Buffy video to this song. I think this song is exactly how Spike probably felt for Buffy. Especially since Buffy told him he is beneath her.
"She is Like the Wind" is such a beautiful song. I wish Patrick Swayze the best with his cancer.
