I use a Project mix in Logic and Ableton.... the main volume 'level' data pot is possibly the worst I've ever come across..... it's just damn awful....
It's obviously a data pot rather than variable resistor .... so generates data at a specific resolution... now the faders seem to be really high resolution... the volume level pot however might as well be like off, medium,..... and .... well, lets hope you've not got a big sound system...because.... well it's flat out....!
hi, i just bought the m audio project mix, and i do not know how to make it work with pro tools 7 m powered, is it the same configuration as you show on your video? appreciated your help by the way cool videdo
hi, im about to buy a digidesign command 8 CTRL Surface and i was wondering if it works with premiere pro CS4, im new to this work and i study know for it... thank you and excuse my english...
I'd recommend asking someone that owned at least one of those 2 products, as we own neither. Digidesign user forum is probably a good place to start. good luck.
thank you anderson for showing off your pmix/io loves your video. you killed me in the end with the vegas-demonstration mode...wow motorized faders...love it
hey, im thinking about getting the i/o project mix, i was wondering whether it worked as an external sound card or the latency would rely on my desktop or laptop's soundcard.
yes, among other things, Project Mix is a big multi-channel external soundcard, and will take over audio processing duties from your laptops little built-in soundchip.
Ha! yes. In the editing (bed) room at the time, the lighting was terrible and you couldn't see the gear very well, so we setup a (very) temporary rig to shoot this.
How do you do automation of the volume & pan using the ProjectMixI/O in Vegas? I can adjust the volume but can't seem to get it to record the changes in the pan/volume envelopes. help!
Does any1 know if this is compatible with Ableton Live 6 or 7?
Im currently running Live 5 but would love to get this Control Surface/Interface in order to run ProTools M-Powered and upgrade to Live 6/7 later. It says the DAW must support Mackie Control which im sure the newer Abletons do.
I have the ProjectMix running protools m powered & The recording time clock is running crazy, its not steady..like stop & go..Anyone know????Ive tested the interface on another system & thats not the problem...Please help!!!
M-Audio has a user forum and a tech support hotline, so does Digidesign. Both are better places to get tech help than the comments section of a Youtube tutorial video. Good luck.
it's possible to record more than 8 channels with this product? i used to record 24 channels on protools m-powered, can i play all channels at same time ?
Nice demo. Stuff like this is great for people just getting started. The marketing idiots who write descriptions of their product online just leave you baffled with their jargon. One short clip like this speaks volumes.
of course, but it's not going to let you record audio into Reason, because Reason has never been able to do that. . . the best bet would probably be Pro Tools M-Powered with Reason rewired into it, that way you could record audio tracks/vocals, and use Reason at the same time.
I tried looking on the command 8 and the digi 002 and it has no 8 pre amps that the projectmix have. well, maybe I'll consider M-powered anyway. Thanks and more power!
The "mixer" is an integrated audio interface and HUI-compatible control surface. Its name is in the title and description of the video, as well as every other sentence in the video.
hey i was wondering if you could help me out with my project mix. for some reason i cant get the far fader on the right to move. And to control the main volume. Everytime i try to set it it pops right back down.
Thanks for this creat constructive video! I just got Sony Vegas 7 by mail today :) the mailman caught me by surprise. I own M-audio Firewire 410 but plan to buy a project mix in the future.
What mic is that? How much does it cost? Is it a crap mic that has the sound bouncing off walls and stuff? Where did you get it? I really need a good Microphone!
The mic is an M-Audio Solaris. We love it. It is not a "crap" mic in any way shape or form. Highly recommended. For pricing, etc, use Google. - - good luck.
Wazup man... I have a question... Do you have any video card for working with 2 monitors? It's because I work with VEGAS and I really want to know how to work at 2 screens... If you have any card, can you give me any suggestion? thanx man
we did more than one take of him recording ADR, I thought I matched the recording and playback takes . . . but it's possible that they're different instances. The ADR playback shown here is a real un-manipulated ADR from one of those 2 takes either way. . . not the original audio from the taping.
yup. That's why we made the vid. Using these two together isn't a documented thing (at least not that we could find), we just found a way to make it work like clockwork, so we shared.
hi im new at this so i dono how to get ma videos up on there wen i do the sound of my video comes up any weys if any one can help me hola btw do u need that key board thngy to be able to do stuff on vegas 7

Follow the instructions in the ProjectMix manual for setting up in PT. You use Cubase mode for Vegas, you use ProTools mode for PT.

I might buy this M-audio device instead of a Mackie controller, having seen your presentation and know that this device has more functionality.

the number of tracks PT can play back is controlled/limited by the software, not the hardware.

It's a FireWired interface, you HAVE TO connect it to a Windows or OS X computer - that's the point.

Compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered, Pro Tools LE needs a piece of Digidesign hardware present, doesn't it? What about the Command 8?

Hows the latency on the I/O's? Especially the midi. With it being firewire and all.
monnie110 4 years ago
Audio buffers go down well below 256 samples, so latency isn't an issue for us.
