Great video. love russian trains, especially the diesels, despite the pollution. Loved them since 1995 when my wife and I visited Russia and took a trip from Sct. Petersborg via Moskou to Vladivostok, Greatest trainride in my live. Try it if you can!!!!
Actually that is a latvian train made in Latvia - it's made in RVR - riga train factory(basically owned by russians). The simbols on the side of that train - PV are shortening from "passenger train" in latvian :)
Yeah.....this is some great footage! Reminds me of when I met my wife in Novgorod, russia.....there were trains everywhere and we even rode one to her mom's flat. I remember waking up early in the morning and hearing one train after the next go right by my wife's apartment.....freight and passenger. The whistles were so unique... Railroads over there have been a huge part of what made the country great I think.
