  • Oww.. man it's very dificult to make scratch in the Xponent, I bought one and I can't do it, you're fkn awesome!!! Do you know somewhere to take a good tutorial to learn this? Cheers from Brazil

  • @gugafumero - you dont have to take a tutorial for this. just adjust your sensitivity settings in the software under the scratch settings and practice and have fun. 1

  • dobrła mudżian

  • its very good tool im getting this tomorrow :)

  • dude ur shits sounds awsome ive had my xponent but my shit sounds NOTHING like this...ur really good dude no lie. im trying to learn more.....GUIDE ME IN THE PATH O WISE ONE. lol

  • @krodmarine - I enjoyed the Xponent so much when I had it. I remember experimenting and tweeking the settings to get the scratch sensitivity where I wanted it at. Other than that, it was about having fun. Peace out and have fun with it.

  • Yo Reggie where could i get that record you are playing, also how much the pcdj software cost you?

also Dj Reggie thank you for your help on making a decision to purchase one

you have the website for that pcdj software u are using ?

  • @rlafontant88 - I download ALL of my music from the web. That is why I switched from vinyl to digital. I grabbed PCDJ from a torrent site. Any torrent site will host the file you are looking for.

  • yo Reggie you to nice boyyyy!!!!!

am thinking about purchasing one just fun never dj in my life

could you please be my master.

  • @rlafontant88 - LOL! I just sold mine but the xponent is a beast when it comes to mixes and scratching. I would say purchase it.

  • @TheReggiereg1 yo Reggie y sold it ?

u are using virtual dj as software did you purchase where could i get for free master mix.

  • Way better than me. Good job dude.

  • what is that button your hitting to the left of the crossfader, and what does it do?

  • @JordanAnsell - called the transformer button invented by dj grandmaster flash back in the days. Some will call it a que button. However, its a lazy way for me to transform scratch, this button brings in the music when you press it and when you let up, the music goes away.

  • You got skillz bro!

  • :/ the scratch sounds too digital.. thanks for the preview

  • @amandaearl44 - excatly! You cant compatre these to analog turntables. Thanks for commenting.

  • Man you got mad skills.

What are you preferences in Torq?

Everytime I try to scratch, it just sounds like garbage.

  • @loumiin - Thanks! I just uploaded a vid and I put the preferences. I wish I had more time to practice. Make a vid and post it to get some honest feedback. 1

  • hey reggie, I was wondering about picking one of these up. Have u had any problems with urs?

  • @DJShortgino - For the most part, I have not had any problems. I am now using pcdj vj with xponent.....and it is sooooo sick to mix/scratch videos. It gives me a whole new perspective on the xponent. 1

  • BEWARE ppl who want to scratch with the xponent they rnt built for it an they wont last!!!! i went through 2 before i jus gave up. The fader isnt built to take the abuse of scratching and jus dies after extended use, same with the platters. both my fader and the top of the platter are literally useless now. another heads up the headfone jack is plastic and it only takes one sharp tug to pull out. i use mine as a trigger now. i think if ppl want this, compare it to cheap cdjs.

  • @chooby3000 - WOW! What kind of mixing/scratching were you doing? The xponent is a sturdy controller. Sure the case is plastic but just how hard do you have to press the platter. The platter is so responsive that I barely press it. Cdjs is a pain because you are tied to making cds. Thanks for your perspective. 1

  • torq xponent are sensitive jogwheel?

  • how is crossfader and jogwheels in xponent?? Is it easy to control them?

  • @AlienCommunity - The crossfader is stiff and the platter is small. If you are use to turntables, this will be a change for you. However, you can do what you need to do. 1

  • @TheReggiereg1 Can I do flares, crabs, transformers and other techniques with this thing? Because I want only to scratch I don't like mixing. Or should I get new cartridge for my technic 1200 and new mixer? What do you think is better? I don't have much money to spend, thats a big problem for me. What is best controller for scratching like xponent?

  • @AlienCommunity - you can do all of that. It's just a different beast. Personally, I would buy the new cartridge. Used xponent is about 300 stacks. I use to have 1200's so the xponent allows me to remix/ scratch/ mix/ video mix and so forth. I will be posting more very soon so stay tuned. 1

  • @TheReggiereg1 Thanks for your fast reply! Please post some scratching videos with xponent

  • @AlienCommunity nooooo dont get a xponent jus buy new cartridge trust me!!! if ur desperate to scratch with a midi controller look at the vestax vci range, theyre still pants compared to ur 1's an 2's tho..

  • @chooby3000 I changed my mind when I read your comment, I'm getting new cartridge and... what mixer do you recommend for scratching? Rane TTM-56 or Vestax PMC-05? (TTM-57 too expensive for me)

  • @AlienCommunity id have the vestax but thats just personal preference, iv never owned a rane but ppl seem to either love or hate the crossfader on em. yeh id play it safe an get the vestax seen em goin pretty cheap lately an u can always bang a new fader on it

  • @AlienCommunity if you're looking for a unit that is capable of advanced scratch techniques then you're really only limited to the VCI-300, and the 100 will even suit your price range and needs. There's no way you're going to be able to crab on this thing. It's a bit of a cop out to be pushing the cue button to cut. No offense Reggie, but those aren't real transformers!

  • @WadeWestTv - I'ts all good on the cue button. I am not a scratch dj at all.

  • its not meant for scratching haha

  • @buzbee1991 - What are you talking about?

  • Nice to actually find a vid of some1 scratching on the Xponent, rather than some wannabe pretending to scratch to a backing track (strewth!) Looks like you could well get the hang of Midi scratching it if you were still getting used to the Xponent when you made this vid. I don't scratch, but seeing you fiddling shows the responsiveness of the wheels well. With all that crabby abuse on the Crossfader, has it had any issues as yet - and is the XF replaceable? Thanks for this vid mate, v.useful

  • Hey Reggie, just got this bad boy on Friday.....awesome!!! I scratch hamster, so good to know I can config fader to suit my style!! Like the tx button, but rarely use it. Just used to the fader I guess. It is different to 1200s, but this is probably the closest yet that midi controllers have to offer the b-boying world!! AND BOY, IS IT CLOSE!! just love the fact I can crab on it!! keep doin' it, Reggie!!

  • @hairbear2705 - LOL! that is what I'm talking about. I have yet to really dig deep into all of the things you can do with the xponent. I am trying different applications to see which one I like best. Upload some vids when you get a chance. 1

  • @TheReggiereg1 Yeah, just finding my way round it too. I don't think I've had a day yet when I haven't been on it!! Just a good thing I work, or I'd never leave the house!!

Will do some vids shortly. 1

  • @hairbear2705 - ha ha! I know, my wife gets mad when I spend too much time on it. I just purchased a roland sp 606 so I am working on combinbing the two to make the ultimate remix machine.

  • hey how about the fader??you just merely using the botton to have sharp cutz?i currently reviewing xponent coz i looking for dj console for my vdj software...

  • Word! If you look at my other videos, I am using the fader more. It was just a vid when i first purchased the xponent. I like the xponent because of the size of the platter, ease of use, ability to hear the other song in your head phones, and how reliable it is when scratching. Good luck!!!

  • Hey Reggie, sick scratching, I also want to start scratching, so I wanted to know if you can send me the Scratch Pack that you uploaded, plz.

    Thanks!

  • No doubt and thanks! I uploaded a couple of videos with the link included. I will also be adding more scratch packs very soon. 1

  • hey i really like your scratching skills. i have an xponent too and was just trying to experiment with scratching....do you think you could send that scratch sample pack my way also? i would really appreciate it

  • @mrgordon271 I just uploaded a scratch pack. Check out the download link.

  • Great, thanks so much. Did you make the one used in the video, or does it have a specific title (so I can purchase online). Keep up the unreal mixes man.

  • Later on today, I will go to your page and give u a download link. I believe I have volumes 1,2, and 3. I will zip them and upload. Excellent pacs to practice your scratches. Peace out and be on the look out later on today for the links.,

  • No problem....no need to purchase anything. I will give you the link. The one I am using is dj rectangle utimate battle weapon vol 1.

  • @TheReggiereg1 much love for uploading this fam. you in spired me to start scratching again. do you think i could get that link to that scratch sample pack? again thanks and peace

  • @fetishb - I've been inspired to get back into as well. I wish I had more time. Check out my other scratch vids and you will see the link. 1

  • @nakjr I could not upload rectangle....its blocked. I made my own...i also included a download link.

  • Outstanding man! Sounds awesome! I'm currently running an Xponent with Traktor Pro. I'm mostly into electro/club beats but would love to get into some scratch stuff but always was worried about midi controller limitations. You've deffinately proved it's more than possible!

One question: I would love to know where you got that scratch sample pack? I would LOVE to get ahold of something like that! Thanks in Advance!

  • Thanks! I've tried several dj applications and settled for Torq. As far as the scratch pac goes, I am using DJ Rectangle battle records (mp3). It's a must have for the digital record crate.

  • I also make my own scratch pacs in acid pro.

  • @nakjr I uploaded a scratch pack for downloading...check it out.

  • that was awsome ......this is gonna sound stupid but im new to the whole dj thing. can you explain to me what you are doing when u scratch and hit tap the button next to the crossfader? thanks

  • Not a stupid question. That is the transformer button. Normally, dj's would just use the crossfader. The transformer button is basically a mute button. When I hit the button, I get sound, release the button, sound is off.

  • thanks so much ! now I get an idea how to scratch

  • @davidgtr I uploaded a scratch pack so you can practice. select the download link

  • thanks alot for your help!!

  • No doubt and more to come soon

  • wow with a netbook, good stuff Reg. Note the scratching with the xponent sound is better and much more responsive with traktor, but i like torq better overall.

  • I have not used Traktor. I thought about using the PCDJ to experiment with video mixing. Thanks for the tip.

  • dope stuff reggie. May i ask, how do you have your jog wheels set, nudge, scratch? I have my nudge set to a 5 and scratch set to a 6. Feels a bit loose.

Also, looking at the video your music isnt even moving, how are you accomplishing this? Dope stuff man keep up the good work. I'm learning from you!!

  • I've been checking out your vids too and we learn from each other. I will follow up with you on my jog wheel settings because I am on my other computer. The music wav form is moving. The right platter is set to a loop and the scratch wavs are very close together (one scratch after another). I will be posting more vids soon so keep it locked. When you get a chance, post some more vids yourself. Peace!!

  • You are using acer aspire one with 1 GB of ram? The software comes with the controler? Software fix on the screen i try use virtual dj on aspire one not fixed on the screen. text is smallest. I Think take one these for start again it´s good? Works on aspire one without delay or crashes? please send a feedback. aspire one + xpoent is verry portable.

  • That is the laptop I am using. I purchased the controller from Craiglist and the latest version of torq would not work on such a small screen. I kept getting error messages. I went with version 1.5 and my problem was solved. The latency problem can be resolved in Torq software. Aspire One and Torq 1.5 is very portable with NO CRASHES EVER!!!! I would feel comfortable performing in front of hundreds with my current setup that you see. Peace!!!!

  • My model have only 1 GB of ram. - AOA 150. I will try a hackintosh. need replace wireless card. and up to 1.5 RAM it´s maximum. actually im using mixx with linux. no have many resources like a torq. I have ubuntu on it. need windows or mac to run torq no torq for linux.

  • this was the best scratch video i seen for it yet what net book are u running torq on

  • I appreciate that. I am using that Walmart special.....Acer. It responds well with no issues. It handles Torq like a champion. Peace!
