Like i said ive had and tested both and my gen 3 was faster...im at 500 rwhp sae now with baby mods...in my gen two id need baby mods plus ported heafs...love them both though..hope to own a gen5 if they ever come out
ive owned a gen 2 and a gen 3 ..1/4 mile tested them both..gen3 trapps about 2-3 mph higher than the gen 2..try 120 mph trapps on average for my gen3 and 117 mph trapps on average for my gen2....
Gen 3 is better in every single way..
With that said the gen2 is easier to get good ET's in...You can shift at 5600 rpms and still get a 117 plus mph trapp...Gen 3 you have to shift at 5850 or 5900 rpm's to get a 120 plus mph trapp...Very easy to hit redline needing to shift so high..
1st off gen 2's were all underrated especially from 96-99, those were 500hp Drive a gen 3 vs 2 back to back and the gen 3 feels sluggish and tame Elaborating on the manifold change, in 2003 the intake manifold was changed to a single throttle body, which choked the low end power.. Jamie Furman, states that he could never get a gen 3 into the 11's, where he has owned several gen 2's , all different years, stock (down to the tires) was in the11's he averaged mid to high 11's on stock tires.
THE BETTER OF THE TWO WON THAT RACE HANDS DOWN!!

@nsxandviper
Bet my 2002 Viper RT-10 with cold-air ntake and Belanger exhaust will push it faster than an stock SRT10.

@ItalianMan2007
Very interesting. I believe it. Thx

Actually Gen 2's are quicker than gen 3's a manifold change to the gen 3's killed all the low and power, they fixed that in 08
