the riddim is found as a preset in the Casio MT 40. You can check on Ebay. Ive seen some circuit bent ones that can do some great stuff but those get expensive.
dude i was thinking the same thing the first time i ever heard this riddim i also think the joy ride riddim sounds alot like the sleng teng riddim i think it actually might be the same notes but played different
naaaah man,..... the origonal bassline was as dope as it was when it was an ORIGINAL ting... yu didnt NOTHING fresh...go baclk to tha drawing board PLEASE!!! this had some potential for a REMIX ting!
I just found this out today, and posted a comment mentioning it on this video. Didn't even bother to scroll up and read the other comments, you definitely know your history.

I believe Tony Asher was the one who did all the keyboard work in the studio?

King Jammy however just produced the riddim... originally it was made by Noel "Foodie" Davey, as was "Tempo"

numerous artists used this riddim in the 80's, as per usual. theres even a sleng teng resurrection riddim that came out a few years ago
BlackJays 5 years ago
This was actually the default bassline on one of them casio keyboards from the 80s. You can look for Cutty Ranks, he's from that era.
