Nobody thinks of Curtis Blow as the Godfather of rap. The Hip Hop community call Gil Scott Heron the Godfather of rap. And when it boils down to it it was either Gil Scott Heron or The Last Poets.
I'd agree to a degree,he's is a founding father...first with major record deal..AND first 2 sell mad units with street cred..but umar bin hassan and gil are the godfathers but james brown was the grand godfather...peace
