  • love it

  • thanks dude. Worked like a charm.

  • Do you know the name of the part that is under the screen with the orange sticker on? I need a replacement and cant find one.

  • where did you order your screen from? im looking around, but a lot of reviews i have read are not good. so i need a reputable vender. thnx

  • @rquintero7 Like $90 on ebay

  • Nice video, man...but why do you pronounce bezel like gazelle?

  • @lungfixer also, he pronounces it inspirion. Like there's an extra i in there. Otherwise, great tutorial.

  • i have an interesting issue with mine, and this is the first i have ever encountered this issue, it seems if the backlight faults, the laptop will remember the panel. I need to find out how to make the laptop forget the screen since the faults have been resolved.

if you know what Im talking about, Ide really like to know how to clear whatever from the laptop. If I sound dumb to whomever, it simply means you don't know what I mean and have no experience with this.

  • Great Video. Very straight forward installation. You were right about the bottom of the bezel being a little difficult to remove but I got it! Thanks again

  • fyi, it's inspiron not said "inspirion"

  • THANK YOU DUDE! You just saved me £100 in visiting techies!

  • If I have a column 1 inch thick that is white with a few colors and a row that is 2 inches thick that changes colors as if it is trying to display what is on the screen, would a new lcd fix that?

  • Thank you thank you thank you!! I installed my new screen per your instructions and its beautiful!!

  • where did you order the new screen? my 1525 has a bunch out pixels that just blacked out near the center of the screen. it happened after i came back from the airport so im thinking it was the xray stuff they do

  • My new screen did'nt come with an inverter board. Is it safe to take the one from the old one and use that with the new one?

  • Where did you purchase the replacment screen? I found some online but the back looks different near the top and there was no invertor box on the bottom.

  • Great video, so i can just buy a new screen, install it and its works! Nothing else has to be done i.e is any software things i have 2 do?

  • @stevierobb09 Yup, it's strictly hardware, nothing software related involved

  • Hey thanks for the video. Just dumpster dove for a 1525 and all it needed was the screen replaced. I did not know it was that easy. Wow!!!!

  • is it possible for me to replace a glossy lcd for a matte screen?

  • just to say cheers, video was really helpful when my dad and I were replacing my laptop screen, thanks again :)

  • Can you makea video on how to replace a Dell Ins. 1525 time and date battery?

  • would this also work with the 1545?

  • wow..much easier then the way they say to do it at the dell website. go figure!

  • does it work for the inspiron 1545 version

  • my bezel thing wont come out i dont want to break it

  • Does anyone know if the Inspiron 1545 bezel is the same as the 1525 cuz mines is broken

  • my dad stepped on my screen and it started out as a small bubble, but it spread to all the edges and is starting to "grow" inward...is that the screen broken? or is it the backlight?

  • @casey9540 if their are signs of cracks..its the screen for sure...my broken lcd screens tend to start tiny and expand to where it takes up the whole monitor.

  • i replaced mine w this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanksss sooooooooooooo much :)

  • i have a 1720 model with the 1440 by 900 display and it has dead pixels i wanna get the 1920 by 1200 display can i do that without changing any software?

    thanks!:)

  • I replaced my screen in my dell inspiron 1526. When I tested it, it came right up. I waited for windows to come up then I turned the power off. After I put the brackets on & put it back together, it didn't work. Did I damage it? or do you have any suggestions?

  • Good video...my Dell 1525 popped a screw out of the right bottom and now will not close and the hinges are popping out....any suggestions

    Thanks!

  • This was great thanks. Saved me the £50 that i would have to have paid for someone to fit my replacement screen. Really clear instructions that were so easy to follow.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks, This video really helped me to quickly get access to the lcd screen and replace a backlight power inverter (ants got in it).

  • My GF cracked her monitor and bought a whole new computer and gave me her now old laptop. Thanks to this video I was able to take out the cracked LCD and purchase a new one online. Thank you for the post.

  • you saved me almost 500 bucks..my LCD screen was going out and too it to best buy they were going to charge me anywhere between 400 - 600 bucks and it would take them 3 weeks to fix..im bout to buy a replacement screen and install it myself thanks for the vid

  • @danielson0206 where did u find the replacement screen from? and how much

  • @rquintero7 online on google shopping I spent 110 buck for the screen and converter

  • where is the video card?

  • Just needed to tighted the bolts on the right hinge of the screen, but still, this helped me a lot.

    Thanks!

  • can i still do this same instructions for my E1705?

  • does it make a difference if it has a webcam?

  • @okienana50 No :) It's just a small thing up top held in by 2 screws.

  • @okienana50 The screen on mine is jittering/shaking any ideas why or what I can do about it?

  • Great video! It was good to see a video answering my questions that wasn't made by some 12 year old or by someone with an accent I couldn't understand, lol. Thanks again!

  • my laptop fell and the screen does seem to work but only if i shine a light on it. what is exactly the problem and what do you propose i do?

  • @PrincessTohru1 Broken backlight, I'd recommend buying a new screen as replacing just the backlight is torture. You can get around $40 one ebay for a screen with a dead backlight, so resell the broken one!

  • Thanks for the How To - saved us some money!

  • Would you give me a cookie if I got your windows pass right? xD

  • I had to tape the inverter to the back of the sreen, because the screws wouldn't go back in. You think it's safe?

  • Hi thanks so much for the video.

If I purchase one on ebay how would I know if its the right screen? Would screens from other dell models fit? Do you know what other models would be compatible? Because I have been searching ebay just under 1525 and the results have been scarce. thanks so much.

  • Dude I like the video and the way you explain things but you spend so much time outside of the focus of the camera I cant see some of what you are doing!! Can you please do this over??

  • MY Laptop is broken. this shit isnt sturdy @ all. and i took of it pretty well

  • Excellent video. I successfully replaced my Insprion 1525 screen with one from Ebay (cost me ~$140 after shipping and customs) thanks to this video. I did have to do one additional step - I had to unscrew the inverter board from the bottom of the old cracked LCD and then use scotch tape to tape it onto the bottom of the new LCD so that it could be hooked into the system board. I had to use scotch tape because the mounting screws were positioned differently on the new LCD.

    Thanks again. Cheers!

  • Yea Im installing mine now, and I was like wtf, wheres that step?!

  • @charhito I had to do the same, rofl. Is it holding up good in there with the tape only? You had any problems?

  • @miketh2005 Yep seemed to work fine. I have since sold that computer, so I can't say how it holds up long-term, but I dont' think there are many forces acting on the inverter, so it should be fine.

  • great video mate, will follow your steps, i have a question, do you reccomend the lcd screens on ebay or is it taking a chance?

  • It's pronounced insperon

  • Excellent video! I would like to ask you a question: why did you have to order it with an inverter? I'm about to purchase a screen and am wondering if I should buy it with an inverter too. FWIW, I cracked mine with the pressure of my thumb as I was trying to lift my computer from the desk (yeah, I know). Part of the screen displays everything just fine, so it seems my inverter is running OK (?). Would greatly appreciate your comments.

  • You wouldn't need to get one with an inverter, but notice how it's mounted. Mine was riveted, so you'd need to pop it off, file down the rivet popups, then tape it down. It's just a little bit of extra work, I got one with the inverter bec it was a reasonable price :)

  • All I really want to do is remove the bezel. But it seems to be stuck on hard along the bottom and I don't want to snap it.

  • hey thanks for the video, i had to look everywhere to find a replacement video without having to pay 80 bucks at a computer tech. but how did u know what exact screen to purchase?

  • I bought one from eBay seller laptopservicecenter (I'm not affiliated with him, or eBay, but he does have more). I bought one from someone else before without an inverter and it did not work with my inverter.
