this, is probably on my list of my favorite cover songs of all time. AND im a really big Daniel Johnston fan. The entire point of covering a song, is to make it your own. A song that you feel something for, but would like to share in your own way. THIS IS BRILLIANT. good music is good music. and thats what this is. they did an amazing job

They took a song driven by bittersweet emotion and made it upbeat, poppy, and sterile. I'm all for re-interpretation, but when the cover artist doesn't understand whats so special about a song it the first place, crap like this results.

Damn this cover kinda sucks. Mates of States has really kinda been. I would have liked to see what they would have done with it 7 years ago. It's just kinda cheesy, and it doesn't feel earnest. These days, I think they are letting their success get to their heads.

this is a great cover, people need to remember that without a cover like this, Daniel Johnston wouldn't be able to make a living, it's what he does. Wilco also has an amazing cover of this as well.

Anyone who hates on this or compares it to anything or anyone else, really doesn't understand Daniel Johnston to begin with. And you don't deserve to like this amazing interpretation anyway. I just got broken up with, and this made me happy that one day, I will find true love. And a boy who will do stuff like this with me. Life is incredibly, cruelly beautiful. If you can't accept ingenuity, you can't accept anything.
