@lokingloking the the extra USB end just helps to supply extra power to the hard drive which allows it to transfer data a bit faster. I don't see to much of a difference,but it's still helpful and useful feature.
@lokingloking To answer your question, yes I have connected and used the hard drive with just one of the two USB connecters plugged in to my HP laptop and it worked completely fine. I easily transfered over 3,000 images from my laptop to the hard drive in about 5 to 6 minutes, and I had no problems at all! Now that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be that fast on your computer, it my be faster for you, or it could be slower, it just depends on what computer you have.
