@DamianProgrammer DarkBasic Pro seems promising, I've seen good results from people (although DX9 is the only supported DirectX for it. OpenGL, no sir, DBPro only uses DX9). Visual Basic on the other hand >.> If there were a library for it, then maybe.
@TokXilChaos Game Maker can't be used for the latest technologies either. I think Game Maker at the most uses DX8 for 3d. XNA can use the latest versions of DirectX. (If not it can use DX10 at least.)
maybe his first game in XNA but he certainly made other games in other languages like C, C++, VB or PureBasic ( did you do DarkBasic ? )

@LetsBlob Game Maker is easier, but XNA is far more powerful and can be used for Xbox 360 games.
