Aww! Ginger was the most adorable guinea pig! They just grab your heart with their eyes and nose and cute little noises. RIP to her. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose mine :(

awww cute i just got a guinea pig yesterday lol my mom came with a bag of mcdonalds.. i opened it and it turned out it was a guinea pig i had wanted one for my birthday but got it early anyways shes 3 months old and is soooo nice she licks alot and purrs alot to lol shes such a cutie but i was suprsied that she was that friendly i thought she was going to run away alot but she doesnt hheehe she has white hairs on top of her ehad that look like devil horns so i named her lucy XD

@artVision913 she bit me a few times, but it never drew blood. They like to nibble on things, so sometimes it happens. But it's not painful at all.

@artVision913 lol they will bite you at least 400 times in their lifetime on accident and you will laugh at there tiny teeth tickling you when they bite! no they will not make you bleed unless against abuse.

@artVision913 they can bite, but i guess thats just until they get to know you aftwrwards they can nibble you hard.

it hurts but not blood, they rarely bites and thats why they are better pets than hamsters for example

@artVision913 they don't bite you with you know a bad thought (unlike for example some mistreated dogs do :'( ). if your hands smell tasty, they first sniffle at it and than they might bite (but not painful^^) :D

@artVision913 I know your comment is old, but, I heard that guinea pigs rarely bite humans out of anger. They tend to be very gentle animals, and very social.

There's a reason why they're recommended for children. LoL.

Ironically, hamsters bite more than guinea pigs, and hamsters can draw blood; But guinea pigs are very shy and gentle. =)

@artVision913 usually no, but they do tend to nibble on you. i got one case where she kept ripping in the towel, and then because i didnt react nibbled me in the ear... not hard just enough for attention.

My first guinea pig's name was Ginger; he was male, and I gave him the name because he was the color of gingerbread. :P He lived to be 10 years old and was just the sweetest thing alive, always ready for a cuddle. My experience with him cemented my love for all guinea pigs. :)

@litlmouse Yeah, well if you think that's something, I too had a guinea pig named Ginger that looked just like yours! It was funny, when she laid on her side, she looked like one of those brown and white cows! She was huge!! :) But she was so cute, just like yours. I used to call her Squeaker. Poor Ginger. After having her for 7 years (guess that's old for a guinea pig) she died on Christmas morning of 07. I miss my Ginger. :(

I think they usually live to about five or six. But Ginger was seven when she passed away.
