I live in Canada & some stores won't even accept 100 $ bills so hopefully this will make a difference. I did see on the news someone dropped theirs on a heat rad and it shrivelled up so it appears they melt pretty easy. other then that they seem more durable for every day wear and tear. I have yet to hold one and just heard about it on the news today. they sure look cool. hope they make smaller bills like this so I can save one in case they change their minds
Has anyone tried having a wad of these bills?? IT SUCKS. There slippery, dont fold well, and they tare easily once they get a lil nick in the side. I think they want us to hate them so we'll be more willing to switch again to US or North American currency...
Also, when the smaller notes are released, there are going to be ALOT of cashiers whose tills are going to be short...these things are just too damned slippery
Dont look through the window on the bill's its a retinal scan.....! It also has GPS tracking in it so they can fallow you around and find out just were your spending all your money! There going to do it one way or another take a look at your bank card its got a chip too huh huh? WELL THE NEXT BIG CONSPIRACY!!! CANADIAN MONEY IS OUT TO GET YOU!!!!!!! LMFAO
its really ugly and it feels terrible, worthless. also they stick together and they don't work in many counting machines. I really wish they would leave things alone
the secure facter where you where you hold the biil up too your eye and look through the maple leaf.. there are suppose to be the number of the bill if it 1100 it will be 100 if 50 it will be 50 , 20 so on and on.. but i have a couple 100 bills and i look through all of them pu my to it right up to the light and there where nothing there..... does anyone else see anything when they look through the maple leaf when you hold it up to your eye???? cause i sure didnt.. did you ... W T hell
Lol a guy paid me with one while I was at work and I played with it for like a minute easy before I gave him his change. That 100 symbol in the small window is harder to see than I thought though, it has to be in like sunlight, because i couldnt see it with the fluorescent lightbulbs
This is Unbelievable !, not only will the 99% of the people out there living in their Ipod induced coma's !, no longer be able to burn their paper currencies to at least heat their homes when the economy collapses !, they will die from toxic fumes when they try it ! ! !
@smashvillenashville they are coming out with the rest of the bills (5,10,20) later i think they will be coming out with them all within like 3 years but im not sure
@smashvillenashville in 2012 there will be 50's and in 2013 theyre will be 20, 10, and 5 ... a sheet with the info came with the money that i got from the bank
I know People that play poker with hundred dollar bills and sometimes they drop cigarette ashes on a paper bill and nothing happens. Will these plastic ones melt or shrivvle up if heat hits them????
Yay now we are a decade behind Australia. I love how they say about how it costs 18 dollars to make this money. Here's a thought, if it was actually worth anything, shouldn't it cost 100 dollars to make 100 dollars? Or is this a concept thats become odd? Were that the case, banks wouldn't be printing em out like crazy and making our hard earned dollars we earn today, worth garbage in 10 years.
The Maple Leaf security feature isn't there. Try doing what they say, put it up to your eye and look through, you'll see nothing. Where is the denomination?
I have a few bills, and I think the WinDOE is very hard to use. Definately not working well with CFL light source. I tried with my single bulb kitchen light - and think I saw it, but maybe it's because I wanted to see it so bad, that I saw the top half.
I think it's awesome..... and not to bash the usa, but as a business, in Canada, i hate taking american money, it's all the same color, there's no black light fibers in it, to raised lettering, in a dark bar, you'd have a hard time telling a dollar bill from a 20, and i'd rather not take them as a business owner, i don't think canada has a problem with conterfeit bills, but once in a while you get 5, 10s that feel thin and you wonder... .
@Jenniferhockridge yeah american money bugs me too. We just got a ton of these new bills in our tills at walmart. didn't get too much time to look at them though, had tv's and 3ds's to sell lol.
I saw my first plastic 100$ bill today. All the security features are there except for hidden numbers. We were several people and none of the things we tried showed the numbers :S

@Pilotobe Damn right first thing I did when I arrived in Australia when to surf with my wallet in my suit I just forgot... twit as I am that I also had Canadian money in there (that one was gone but only 50 dollars versus 300 dollars OZ cash so not a big deal)... first of I've also learned that I was a horrible surfer lol.
@MrJaketoronto2004 Ha, ha, ha, ha, = ) I have to admit, I am horrible on water as well, despite the fact that I am Aussy, So. I swapped my wet suit for head gear and started to fly . . . got more success in the air = )
@Pilotobe I swim like a rock and all my practicing on my Iron board didn't help for my surf on water LOL. So you grew yourself a pair of wings and flaps over kangaroos LOL...

They will survive the washer, a dryer, but not ironing.
Also, any cut or nick and these things tear far too easily, right in half.
The edge-wear on these is terribly.
No way they'll last twice as long: they stretch, distort, and wrinkle; permanently.
