  • very nice!

  • these bills look gay

  • I live in Canada & some stores won't even accept 100 $ bills so hopefully this will make a difference. I did see on the news someone dropped theirs on a heat rad and it shrivelled up so it appears they melt pretty easy. other then that they seem more durable for every day wear and tear. I have yet to hold one and just heard about it on the news today. they sure look cool. hope they make smaller bills like this so I can save one in case they change their minds

  • @faithbringshope the new fifties are out in march and i really dont like them they crease fold in your wallet

  • "This female here" lol Does he think this is for the National Geographic Channel?

  • its like Romanian Money so its not so innovative ! Ibut I am glad to see we are using the new Ideas

  • thats like impossible to counter fit xD

  • am I the only one getting turned on by the lady touching that bill.

  • 5:26 to 5:34 close your eyes and let your imagination run wild ;)

  • Has anyone tried having a wad of these bills?? IT SUCKS. There slippery, dont fold well, and they tare easily once they get a lil nick in the side. I think they want us to hate them so we'll be more willing to switch again to US or North American currency...

  • worth more tham american bill!!!!

  • Im from Canada and i dint touch one i only saw and im going to haft to use one before i hate on it.

  • I touched one the other day, it feels fake as hell.

  • Cocaine will never be the same

  • I can see a lot of eye infections to start up like an epidemic

  • i'mnot down with putting it right up close to my eye, thats interesting and creepy

  • Also, when the smaller notes are released, there are going to be ALOT of cashiers whose tills are going to be short...these things are just too damned slippery

  • They are terrible in terms of "handling"; faaaar too slippery which makes it much more easy to miscount ...not good when making a purchase.

  • Dont look through the window on the bill's its a retinal scan.....! It also has GPS tracking in it so they can fallow you around and find out just were your spending all your money! There going to do it one way or another take a look at your bank card its got a chip too huh huh? WELL THE NEXT BIG CONSPIRACY!!! CANADIAN MONEY IS OUT TO GET YOU!!!!!!! LMFAO

  • @josee73837 I cant see anything either I tried a lot

  • @MrLightning432 - Yeah, I couldn't see any numbers either! I tried for quite a while this morning.

  • Lol a guy paid me with one while I was at work and I played with it for like a minute easy before I gave him his change. That 100 symbol in the small window is harder to see than I thought though, it has to be in like sunlight, because i couldnt see it with the fluorescent lightbulbs

  • i got to hold it yesterday

    i tried to rip it

    didn't work :(

  • We finally made our money good just like Australia. Tough and waterproof! If only Canadians were not so stressed and more laid back like aussies!!!

  • You know yeah they look cool and all but just like every other bill SOMEONE will find a way to counterfeight it.Yeah it'll be harder but give it time

  • Here is the really weird thing about the new Canadian 100 dollar bill.

    youtube.com/watch?v=vcDgLovPs5c&feature=plcp&context=C2b38eUDOEgsToPDskJ6MP07m6KT44tg2c1zRK0N

  • @smashvillenashville they are coming out with the rest of the bills (5,10,20) later i think they will be coming out with them all within like 3 years but im not sure

  • @smashvillenashville yea they look beast i cant wait!

  • @smashvillenashville in 2012 there will be 50's and in 2013 theyre will be 20, 10, and 5 ... a sheet with the info came with the money that i got from the bank

  • @caseycurran Gotta Collect them Pokemon !!! LOL

  • They're unfoldable. We won't use them case closed.

  • @mynameisjohnandihat Their fold-able.

  • @mynameisjohnandihat

You can fold them, they just don't really crease.

Source: The one we have in the safe at work to see them

  • I know People that play poker with hundred dollar bills and sometimes they drop cigarette ashes on a paper bill and nothing happens. Will these plastic ones melt or shrivvle up if heat hits them????

  • Yay now we are a decade behind Australia. I love how they say about how it costs 18 dollars to make this money. Here's a thought, if it was actually worth anything, shouldn't it cost 100 dollars to make 100 dollars? Or is this a concept thats become odd? Were that the case, banks wouldn't be printing em out like crazy and making our hard earned dollars we earn today, worth garbage in 10 years.

  • Proud to be Canadian :p

  • I have it =D

  • Gone are the days of leaving your money in your pockets and washing your pants, welcome the days of going swimming with money in your bathing suit.

  • Just like paper...."it is not worth the plastic it is printed on!!!!"

  • The Maple Leaf security feature isn't there. Try doing what they say, put it up to your eye and look through, you'll see nothing. Where is the denomination?

  • can an american buy one of these just for keeps?

  • @gary4poker Of course, just wait until they entirely phase out the old versions, then go to any bank and ask for currency conversion.

  • They look and feel great, the problem or so I've heard is they catch static making them hard to separate. cashier.

  • I have a few bills, and I think the WinDOE is very hard to use. Definately not working well with CFL light source. I tried with my single bulb kitchen light - and think I saw it, but maybe it's because I wanted to see it so bad, that I saw the top half.

  • I think it's awesome..... and not to bash the usa, but as a business, in Canada, i hate taking american money, it's all the same color, there's no black light fibers in it, to raised lettering, in a dark bar, you'd have a hard time telling a dollar bill from a 20, and i'd rather not take them as a business owner, i don't think canada has a problem with conterfeit bills, but once in a while you get 5, 10s that feel thin and you wonder... .

better not crack when we're sleddin, ha ha

  • @Jenniferhockridge yeah american money bugs me too. We just got a ton of these new bills in our tills at walmart. didn't get too much time to look at them though, had tv's and 3ds's to sell lol.

  • i love the way the lady handles the bill (L)

  • I got this bill today!!!! so awesome

  • I saw my first plastic 100$ bill today. All the security features are there except for hidden numbers. We were several people and none of the things we tried showed the numbers :S

  • @44Sara44 Im having that problem too x.x n iono if the bills are suppose to be exactly alike cuz i found 2 points where my bill is different from the one in the vid xx

  • @Bebe2k5 i spotted 2 differences as well :O the hidden numbers and in the silver part at the top there are 3 rows or writing and mine only has 2 rows...

  • These new bills look cool, I wish I had a wheelbarrel full of them!

The new $50.00 "plastic" bills will out out next March (2012).

  • this is not for limit time offered right? so pretty.

  • Canada is the leader in making pretty money

  • @marrrrrrks I'm a, an American and i am not making fun of your money

  • @brianmenendez

    haha fair enough

  • Why are they saying its 'innovative'? Australia is using this type of notes for the past 15 years!

  • @Pilotobe True but they are not as beautiful that's for sure

  • @MrJaketoronto2004

Beauty is only one`s point of view, its the real value that is the measure = )

Either way, glad that you can come and join the team = )

    Cheers

  • @Pilotobe Hey no prob I still love going in Australia and change my cash in plastic money :)... first time I did that I found it cool now we have our own.

  • @MrJaketoronto2004 Cool = )

You must admit that is cool to test the bills under water to see if the colour will fade

  • @Pilotobe Damn right first thing I did when I arrived in Australia when to surf with my wallet in my suit I just forgot... twit as I am that I also had Canadian money in there (that one was gone but only 50 dollars versus 300 dollars OZ cash so not a big deal)... first of I've also learned that I was a horrible surfer lol.

  • @MrJaketoronto2004 Ha, ha, ha, ha, = ) I have to admit, I am horrible on water as well, despite the fact that I am Aussy, So. I swapped my wet suit for head gear and started to fly . . . got more success in the air = )

  • @Pilotobe I swim like a rock and all my practicing on my Iron board didn't help for my surf on water LOL. So you grew yourself a pair of wings and flaps over kangaroos LOL...

  • @MrJaketoronto2004 Something along those lines . . . . I prefer flaps rather than wings, but a combo will be fine as well = )

  • looks like inflation

  • Hm pretty misrepresentations of our very own promissory obligation we have to each other which is merely the evidence of our very own promissory obligations we have to each other that indeed doesn't equal our labor & production we have to each other as our natural promissory obligations do :).

  • new 100 to be released next month!

50 to be released in March '12

    20,10,5 to cone in '13!

    Can't wait!

    source:Bank of Canada

  • Who cares if it's a paper or a polymer, it's still a counterfeit, whether I print it or the government prints it. Just because the government has a monopoly on counterfeiting money doesn't make this piece of paper/polymer any more legit :)

  • @KA3AXCTAH2030 well said, too bad more people didnt realize this

  • i like the current bills here.

  • A great idea! And the bills will last longer because of the material. I've read they will last 2.5 times longer.

  • The Canadian Mint does NOT Print Canadian Paper Fiat Currency. The Canadian Mint (MINT's) Coins. You might want to do a little more research on Who or What entity prints the Canadain Bank Notes on behalf of the Government of Canada. What you find out might surprise you.

  • are they out yet? like if i ask a bank to exchange my hundo

  • polymer is stronger..

  • This will over take Americas economy!

  • These bills look soooo sexy

  • The Mint doesn't make paper money, the Bank of Canada does. I learned that on a grade 5 field trip.

  • At 5:38 it's obvious that the braille dots are still a feature even though I didn't hear it mentioned. That's a good thing. As for counterfeiting, the counterfeiters largely target the smaller denomination bills because many retailers (small business esp.) don't accept $100.00 bills. Perhaps this will change with the new bills? The last generation of bills wasn't easy to counterfeit but black light checking was needed.

  • WOW. So much money at 4:00. :O

We've had polymer notes in Australia since about 1992 though your new notes look pretty interesting esp. the metallic imagery on the transparent area. Has Canada been experiencing increased levels of money counterfeiting?

  • @ironsword7 Yes, there is a counterfeting problem here in Canada especially with the 50 dollar bills.

  • this is gunna be LEGIT!

  • if these are made of polymer, what are the effects of water on the bill?

  • @comscomscoms14 made to withstand water

  • @comscomscoms14 They are supposed to be machine washable according to hype. I don't know how well they do in a high heat clothes dryer.

  • Good Video - 1 thing - The Bank of Canada designs and issues Bank Notes. Not the Royal Canadian Mint.

  • @30daytrial No... it's definately the Mint

  • @CoLPrductions - you are wrong. I work for the Bank of Canada. The mint make coins, not Bank Notes. - google it.

  • That's a really good idea

  • I love how canadians feel they're all special and modern for using polymer notes. Australia's had Polymer notes since 1988. on your moose canada.

  • @KeenanChad i love how you don't put a capital C in Canada, but you put a capital A in Australia... shows how anti Canadian you are.

  • @KeenanChad Except Australian bank notes are fucking ugly.

  • As a Canadian I find this outrageous and disgusting. Many people dont know or forget that a major component of BOPP is petroleum.

So instead of using a renewable resource (Wood Pulp) we are wasting a non-renewable product in an age when we are supposed to getting away from our dependance on oil.

I will be taking every bill I get to my local MPs office and demand paper in protest.

  • @blubuddha13

I do agree, but I'm wondering just how strong these bills are. Do you think that maybe they will last longer because of the polymer, and that this will mean creating less in the future? I guess in that sense, this is a good idea. However, I don't agree with using polymer. I think that they had a better idea when using hemp as a component of the bills. It was stronger, and it's sustainable.

  • @StickItOutTillTheEnd Dumb people who don't know hemp has no THC would try to smoke the 5 dollar bills when they come out at the end of 2013.

  • @blubuddha13 Have you read the Life Cycle Assessment report on the Bank of Canada's website? They claim that polymer shows improvements ranging from a 29 per cent to a 60 per cent reduction in environmental impact.

  • OVER 9000!!!!! sorry... it had to be done....

  • i want one just to keep bc it looks so cool!!

  • sick bills

  • Im a Canadian and I think the new bills look great! I like how it shows Canadians useing new technology in there money!

  • @willy289 i think i would have to agree with you it is interesting

  • did you make this yourself, you have a great voice

  • @MrThePlug thank-you very much

  • @MrThePlug no he didn't the bank of canada did

  • @MrThePlug cept after 2:52 of course
