@linoleumcarving If it well composted you probably could, composting builds up a lot of heat this kills bad stuff in the poo, while still retaining nutrients.
@linoleumcarving The food that you're feeding them isn't organic - they aren't eating animals and plants to produce organic material...the additives and hormones and preservatives in regular dog food are not good for feeding plants.

so u water twice a week? i think i have been watering too much...do your plants ever get blight? I have had that problem recently but i heard u can mix few heaping teaspoons baking soda in 3 liters water, when sunny spray leaves til drenched, wait 2 days do again and that kills it..then mix half and half strength of low fat milk in water and spray the leaves again, fertilize, compost and the plants will be saved. I am going to try it after all this rain is over.
Tomatoes are aggressive feeders. Their root depth would be the same year after year, thus depleting the nutrients available at that depth. Rotating crops allows the nutrients to replenish themselves.

WOW! i have never thought of tricking plants before. love the videos, learn new things all the time. wish i have my own garden after watching these videos.
you can get dwarf fruit trees and put on the backyard patio,, i have 2 dwarf peach trees, they only get 6 ft tall and about 6 ft across and make a lot of peaches.... or you can grow in a pot, we grow tomatoes in pots all over the place,, experiment with different plants in different containers,,, most important have fun...
too many plants in that pot man. a 1foot pot is cool for one plant, when u pull up the others be careful of the roots and use a liquid fertiliser when u re-plant them, should be fine!
QUESTION:Hi I started my tomatoes indoors about the middle of March things went slow but they are still inside no flowers yet but I have a clump of plants all about 10 inches tall now very healthy looking and I'm concerned about the crowding (10 plants in on 1 foot diameter pot lol ) should I leave them or pull some out and if so how do I do this without damaging the root system ??? help !
Love your videos - straight to the point and informative. Gives me confidence to have a go myself as you don't complicate things or pad your videos out with unnecessary waffle.
Shall keep coming back to your videos for advice and inspiration! Thanks - keep up the good work!
Do you grow Heirloom tomatoes? Offspring from F-1 Hybrids (seeds from your first generation tomatoes)do not grow to plants that have the same vigor and disease resistance. Good setup!
please show us your soil ! all the way down.
thank you ,, its nice to see a video thats well down keep it up

Are they heirloom?? That is the only type you can harvest there seeds becuase they pollinate themselves...

that was a great tip about starving them, I can not wait until spring/summer to give that a go.

The only thing I feed my tomatoes is Horse manure, and plenty of phospahte
when I first plant, I find this works for every thing I grow.

@kokonutbaby1-- use 3% h2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide). It kills the blight.

Ahha! So THAT'S how it works!
Starve the plant of food (but keep watered)until it flowers, then feed it well so it produces lots of fruit.
These vids are great.
