ive been wanting to see a recap of terryanne singing her signature song he touched me.DAAAAMMNNNN she rocked it that night baby girl could sing i remember dropping my moms good plate watching her and putting away the dishes thanx utube
Terry Anne had just recovered from viral pneumonia in time for the pageant and did not ride in the Boardwalk parade. She was honored by her USO troupe filled in for her in riding the Miss America float and rested for the final evening.
Terry Anne had become ill in late August while leading her troupe in Honolulu.
It was the same illness that put Richard Nixon in the hospital that July.
@dennismk12002 that is so true...and she was still recovering from that pneumonia by pageant time. That's why she struggled at the end of her song, "Maybe This Time"....it was because of her pneumonia and not her talent. She did a great job considering she was just out of the hospital two weeks before the 1974 pageant.
Always nostalgic to see clips of old Miss America Pageants - the greatest of all American traditions. Terry was one of the best. Thanks for making it available.
i always thought Terry Anne got it all first time around...WRONG...she tried for state title in 1967 and lost!

That song-not as familiar as "There She Is"-is yet another Bert Parks classic.

Jonro i must disagree with you with the word "did." She still walks in radiant beauty. Not uch has changed.
