Its a privilege not a right to step foot on the deck that represents larger things than ourselves. Here is something that no one knows except for the ones there that morning, the "band" ran up onto the steps of the chapel and threw a memorial board that listed all the alumni that have died in the Middle East over the past years and spit on it. I feel sorry for any of you that pity these liberal pices of shit.
I was there on the parade deck that morning. I saw that mob of disrespectful assholes parade down our avenue. It was all fun and games until THEY crossed the line by throwing up obscene gestures mocking us as if we were Hitler Youth. They rushed our Parade deck and we as proud cadets stood our ground and drove them off. If a knob, sophomore, and a 1st semester junior can't cut the parade deck, there is no way in hell we were gunna let them do it.
We invited them to our campus and they mocked us. Why should they deserve any respect? They paraded down the Avenue of Remembrance for those who died serving their country, mocking The Citadel and the military and making a lot of very innapropraite gestures. Why in the hell should they receive any respect? I have no problem with them expressing their right of free speech, but I draw the line when they disrespect people who died to keep their rights of freedom of speech and defend their freedom.
I can't believe you ladies let those pansys come into your house and get away with that nonsense. If they'd have tried that at A&M, or hell, even at Texas, there wouldn't have been enough left to send home in a sponge.

Story? What kind of story do you need? When the Marching Owl Band tried this kind of happy H.S. on the Aggies the Corps came out of the stands and ran those hippies out of the stadium! They're probably still running. They certainly haven't tried to repeat the experience. I say again, Carolinians are long gone on the road to yankeefacation.

The PUB had instructions to go to Wilson field (football practice field) which is outside of the campus.Instead of taking the instructed route to the field,they chose to pass through Hagood gate and proceed to Avenue of Remembrance (apparently, this is the M.O. of the PUB at other campuses where they stir up "enthusiasm"). This explains why there were no Citadel escorts.They didn't count on the Corps' response when they were disrespecting this revered avenue.Go Dogs!
Just remember, Citadel cadets/alumni/fans....this time next year, the Citadel will show the upper hand when it's Citadel @ Princeton. Let's show them what a REAL COLLEGE BAND is all about!!!

No hearsay here. I attended the Citadel vs. Princeton game on Saturday, and was present at the campus before the game. The Princeton Band showed an egregious disrespect for the Citadel and its Cadets. The Cadets showed great discipline by ONLY booing the band at the game. The Citadel is a college made up of individuals who believe in honor, country, and brotherhood.The Princeton Band members present on THAT DAY have much to be ashamed of. According to the script I saw, it's supposed to be an ice-chipper (as part of a punchline to a joke about Sarah Palin's coldness). Guess they didn't form it very well. There was nothing in the script about Santa Claus - no idea what that was about. Probably a little improv by whoever was on the field.
Seriously, I was at the game and if you watch the people run in circles, it does look like a penis, this band did everything they could to embarrass the Citadel and mock the school. The performed simulated sex acts on a Santa clause figure and each other. It was terrible and this is one of the few times I condone the booing. I know some say that you should turn the other cheek, but the citadel is not the place to go and do that.

It's ashame. Their parents wasted good money on an ivy league education and they still turned out to be pretty freakin stupid! What would poses them to come onto a MILITARY school campus whose mascot is a BULLDOG and act all ignorant! LOL! I can just see the people sitting in the stands ready to video tape this novel idea of theirs so they could take it home and gloat ... hope they had a plan B! LOL Go BULLDOGS!

boo hoo hoo, we joined the military instead of getting into a good school. bad descision on our part. Seriously though there are some smart soldiers, but fuck any school whose students condone spitting on girls.

For Ivy Leaguers you're not that bright. You don't charge 2000 angry cadets swinging clarinets saxes and god knows what else and just expect us to move. Maybe that works up north with other normal college students but not with us. Don't pick fights if you're just going to whine about it later.

Yea, a select few freshie cadets only 3 weeks into the program. And who were the ones that enticed it to happen? Oh right, Princeton band members. Who wrote a one-sided article hiding all the true facts of what Princeton did? Princeton. Who bit their tongue and kept the problems internal? Citadel. The amount of control was good for the Citadel in my opinion. Maybe Princeton should practice some self discipline themselves.

I just want to know what all you cadets are so afraid of. The Princeton Band pokes some fun (and acts in an admittedly boorish way) during their half time show, and you think you need to physically intimidate them? I understand about the incident the day before, but can't we agree that that was just an honest, though regrettable, mistake? Does a mob kicking a defenseless person's butt teach him anything except that the mob is a thug and a bully? Are these ever anything but ignorant cowards?

yea, nobody here at the citadel condones spitting on girls, and no matter what if anybody had done that we would have stopped them, I believe that to be simply a fabricated event to make the citadel look like trash. maybe some spit flew when somebody was yelling, but i doubt that happened the way they made it out to be.

Its hard for me to beleive you guys would have stopped them the way most people here are saying they deserved it. The idea that some 'incidental' spit is what landed on the girl bandies is just wishful thinking.

I still haven't found a news article with facts about someone getting spat on, so I don;t believe it actually happened and it is simply a rumor to make the Citadel look bad, but even if I did you are being sexist. If they want equal rights, then it should not be taboo to spit on them because they are girls. Only because spitting on someone is wrong.
Plus the Citadel teaches better information that you get at an Ivy. LEADERSHIP.

According to the script I saw, it's supposed to be an ice-chipper (as part of a punchline to a joke about Sarah Palin's coldness). Guess they didn't form it very well. There was nothing in the script about Santa Claus - no idea what that was about. Probably a little improv by whoever was on the field.

Seriously, I was at the game and if you watch the people run in circles, it does look like a penis, this band did everything they could to embarrass the Citadel and mock the school. The performed simulated sex acts on a Santa clause figure and each other. It was terrible and this is one of the few times I condone the booing. I know some say that you should turn the other cheek, but the citadel is not the place to go and do that.
