  • Im from the uk love american trains and this is one of my favourite songs by Willie Nelson, superb video footage!

  • Awsome footage!

  • Thank you for your dedication a really great video

  • Great job! Song was composed by Chicagoan Steve Goodman.

  • Great footage in this clip to a great song you sure had some nice locations to film , g'day from Australia

  • progress was not the demise of the railroad, it was greed. they, the raillroad ceo's reduced the size of crews, operating and maintainance and stuffed their pockets with money while not caring for the employee's or their family's.We had a smto complain his dividends was not enough to put his two kids through college. Next time you hear this song think of the railroader that lost his home, family and sometimes took their own lives because of these greedy bastards.

  • Great video.

  • Absolutely First Class ! A really evocative piece of film . But don't we all blame progress for the demise of that great transportation wonder - The Steam Locomotive.

I certainly say 'Take me back to the Age of Steam ! '

  • GREAT VIDEO'S LOVE THE MUSIC

  • Willie's version of this song sucks- sounds like shit being sung through his coke-filled nose.

  • My father laid and maintained the route this train took from 1946 to 1988. He worked a bridge gang home from WWII at 20 and retired as a section foreman. They would slee[ in the box cars during the week Winter they froze, in the summer it was HOT as hell. He is now 85 and still a railroad man at heart, Illnois Central and GM&O merged and became Illinois Central Gulf, Thanks for the memory. Railroad Orphan.

  • @pattipeeb you should be proud of your dad.the maintainance of way is the back bone of the R.R.and we conductors & engineers put our faith into them.I can just imagine all the good times & bad you're father had but you can bet a day didn't go by he didn't think of you because I know, I have two railroad Orphans of my own.

  • i loved this video and song! went so well together! i plan on being a locomotive engineer when im older. and as for the song..Johnny cash does a awsome cover of it! give it a listen

  • i loved this video and song! i love trains plan to be a engineer with CN when im older...and Johnny Cash does a splendid version of it! give it a listen

  • Excellent! I'm glad I found these videos. The coordination of music and video was very well done. I'm more of a fan of the Arlo Guthrie song, too, be Willie does a great job.

  • I've run along the highway with the "City of Memphis" in the 1970s, listening to this song in a '64 Chevy. Thanks for the memories.

  • While this video has CSX and CN engines on the old IC route, it is a great show.

  • That was totally awesome thanks a million from the other side. Brendan NJ

  • Great video work hoolg. Trains are American as our founding father's philosophy. Thanks for the great footage. I love trains!

  • I like you idea. But, to be honest, was expecting Amtrak trains nos. 58 and 59 (the 'City Of New Orleans') to be featured in your video. That's just me.

  • Good morning America - here comes Willi and the trains ...

    Good video !

  • Thanks For This Video. This Video Is Very Well Done. Subscribe And 5*****

  • nice work

  • Trains rule! I prefer Arlo Guthries version. Great pics though. Steve Goodman did us all a favor by writing this song.

  • Well done! There is something about a Willie Nelson song and trains. Also it sounds like a good memory of you and your dad traveling together. One of my fondest memories is my dad taking me to see the commuter trains in Hoboken, NJ in the 50's.

  • wow,,great video work!!!!!!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it.

  • In New Orleans or AL?

  • The sone is City of New Orleans, titles after the passenger train but the footage is if trains in Alabama & Georgia.

  • Oh, I see.

    Thanks for info :)

  • Great Video!

  • That is a GREAT video, dude. Good editing. Never heard Willie do this one. Of course, I don't listen to Willie at all. I personnal like Arlo Guthrie's version of it. But as I said, you uploade another fine piece of work. Pat yourself on the back.

  • Thanks man. I haven't heard Arlo's version either. I guess it shows the age difference ;)

You've got a great one yourself!

  • That was fantastic. You would think this song defenitly goes with the railroad. I wonder if Willie Nelson himself was railfan.

  • The Willie Nelson version doesn't talk to me as much as the other version does.

Nonetheless, I think I've seen all of those videos minus the BNSF one.

    Great job!

  • Willie can make even bad film worth watching, Greg's great film combined with Willie makes a truly fine experience! Wish it was an hour long!

  • This is one of the best pieces I have viewed on YouTube!! Like everyone else said - this is great! You should consider doing this more often, you're great behind the camera and in the editing room as well! 5-STARS + FAVORITE!!!!

  • Wish I could give you 6 stars for this one! Absolutely fabulous job. Great editing and the music is spot on.

  • Fantastic!

  • Cool!

  • very nice work !!!

  • Awesome! Nice completion of videos, and a great song as well.

  • Awesome job!

  • Very Nice. Good work. Hard to beat Willie and trains. Thanks
