What's this about now? I honestly want to know how protesting can change anything going on currently? Are there any solutions being talked about? Any plans for the future? Everything is pretty f-ed up right now but I'm not seeing how -this- is going to help anything; I'm missing something here. Regulation does not mean communism, it just means accountability. Selling off risk, and packaging not labelling it as such, means the problem of debt is never dealt with. Where I live, we have liberty. We also have business regulation. It works, and we never really had enough of a drop in growth to call it a recession.

of course there is a huge gap between rich and poor. in democratic countries the answer is for people to vote to tax the rich. the rich will try to distract everyone from money, e.g. by scaring the population with threats of terrorism, drugs, etc. racism and religious differences are used by the rich to divide and conquer, to get the poor to vote against their own economic self-interest and to vote instead for the interests of the rich. Regulation does not mean communism, it just means accountability. Selling off risk, and packaging not labelling it as such, means the problem of debt is never dealt with. Where I live, we have liberty. We also have business regulation. It works, and we never really had enough of a drop in growth to call it a recession.

If you have a master's degree, but you have to work two jobs and eat rice and beans for dinner every night just to afford rent and paying off your college loans because there aren't any available jobs in your field, I think you'd be as pissed off as everyone else at these protests.
