The MIRACLES have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to worry about. Their version charted much higher than the Stones' cover (# 11 Miracles vs. # 25 Stones), and sounds much better to boot . The Stones can't sing anywhere as good as The Miracles , and although they are crack musicians, simply CAN'T compete with Motown's powerhouse studio band, THE FUNK BROTHERS.
From Wiki..."Going to a Go-Go" was covered by The Rolling Stones on their 1982 album "Still Life" (American Concert 1981). Released as the album's first single, the Stones' version "Going To A Go-Go" reached number 26 in the British charts and number 25 in the United States. Both the single and the album were released in the middle of the European tour of the band in 1982.
It is a good live album. I really don't care if the Rolling Stones are 100 and tour, I am not a huge fan but looks like another world tour is on the cards ATM
It doesn't matter if you're black
It doesn't matter if you're white
Take a dollar fifty

And we goin' dance all night

Nice cover of the Miracles 1965 original. Phil Collins covered this tune on a covers album here released in 2010.

The Stones hit #25 in Billboard, 7-17-82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

I don,t think the stones were trying to out do-smokey--think they just like the song and rocked out--

@jimmatera Yeah, and also keep in mind that British Artists were Die Hard Motown Fans and many of them Covered Motown Songs.

Good cover but Smokey & the Miracles did it better.

i think The Stones released this as a 45 rpm single. And charted on the top 40 in the USA.

I always thought this didn't do the Stones justice.
Too simple, not enough going on.
It went right over my head.
