it annoys me when ppl ask " dose this still work in 1.2.3" when at least 7/10ths the time its obvious that it dose its not like notch ..err well jeb now has epic change the game code functions so that pistons dont push blocks or cobblestone generators dont generate cobblestone or redstone dosnt work its annoying as hell its the same freaking game it not a gigantic change or anything yea there may be a few redstone bugs here or there but with somthn this simple... i mean com-on grow a brain!!

I finally got the technique down. Works in my MC. I have the latest version. If it doesn't work in your MC, please make sure you're following him precisely and don't make the mistake of covering up the water while you're covering up the top opening. You must cover the top by placing the blocks aiming at their side, otherwise you'll place them in the block below without knowing, causing your mechanism to fail. @ThisIsM4n3ss Yeah, the generator is legit. I only figured it'd bore viewers less if I spent less time mining and shoveling. Used an inventory hack to make the gold tools last almost forever. You know, to spend less time dealing with minor inconveniences. No mods used, only an inventory hack program.

@umopaplsdnRS Yeah, I didn't see that concept until I after posted this video. Also, my generator (as surprising as this would sound) didn't derive from that video. I was actually working pistons into my non-pistoned generators until I got to the concept that's in this video. Actually, the discovery of my generator was a fluke. Even then, my generator is smaller, the type of clock they used is a very unstable, and mine produces a better output. I'm glad I didn't base my idea off theirs. :P

So apparently the one I built is no longer working.. I dug it up to find out why and found that the crevice holding the ring of redstone was flooded with lava. It happened since 1.1 Apparently the lava to cobble detection changed with the update that makes the block below all 4 waters turn into cobble, blocking the water flow. Where there is no water flow, then the lava is free to flow over the pistons and destroy all the redstone. Any ideas for a fix?

On 1.1 server, it doesn't work anymore. I tried only with one water source and one piston. Still, the lava just goes below the water source immediately and thus creating a cobblestone.

In single player, yes, it works flawlessly.

Maybe that kind of lava acts differently.

@schlaumensch It shouldn't, since the water is guided into the hole left between the pistons. Like I said, I don't know if bukkit modifies anything, because the only issue related to this was back on the 1.9p6 (or 5) update where the water was bugged and anything vertically flowing acted as it's own water source. But that issue has long been fixed.
