  • why is no one talking about their upcoming album? my god i cant wait!! been like 20 years

  • was reading some of the older posts what the song was in reference to the line no vaccination up untill now is refering to aids

  • Man this is taking me back to a time when I was so connected to want they were all about, but alas life grinds you down to a fine pulp....

  • I wonder what I would do if I needed a doctor and Uncle Johnny came through the door to see me.

  • Perhaps the PIL they is the underground group that was presented in the history of ROCK and o ROTTEN the leading representative. We loved him and him we will always love. NICK FROM PESTERED GREECE.

  • Been listening to 'Happy?' for 20 years now, just saw the vid, hilarious. Lightens the album up a bit, in a way.

  • He ain't no Captain. He's just......Sensible :)

  • JOHN IS GOD!

  • What does the blonde girl dressed like Alice in Wonderland signify? I noticed that she seems to be an innocent victim trapped among the madness and that she's the only one who seems to escape. The whole video seems like an incredibly deranged episode of Doctor Who.

  • I guess a lot of it has to do with the social changes of the 1960's as instead of creating a more civilised society a promiscuous one was created instead and issues like abortion is a result of this. Basically what he's saying is 'for once in your fucking lives THINK about your actions!' or you'll end up with an unwanted pregnancy.

  • I WANT JOHN LYDON'S BODY AND SOUL :)

  • At the end of the day, it's art, not a sermon.

  • AWESOME! I lived on PIL in the late 80's etc. EASE is the best song ever. HAPPY is awesome from start to finish

  • @marywanna1000 loved metal box paris in spring time

  • YOURE FREE to have an opinion or bad attitude but i dont agree with you about this song. ITS about being used and manipulated by an ANTICAPITALIST STATE in a mental asylum that does not respect CONSERVATIVES or ECONOMIC CHANGE and how they are trying to use his body for BIZARRE testing. hes making a PARODY about how people and PUNKS are racially-prejudiced and VIOLENT and hes overall criticizing the "punks" for being TOO SEXUAL and RAUNCHY.

  • @mediattackrecords lydon wasnt really a "far leaner" again the MUSIC BUSINESS need money - corporate jobs and donations here we come.

  • Look mummy, it's the butter salesman!

  • At a young age, Johnny did things his way.

Now as he's becoming older, he's doing things His way

    smarter than ever before...

Goes to show you, you can't expect to break any rules

if you don't learn them first.

This is the Greatest Rock-n-Roll lesson ever, by Johnny.

    All Hands DOWN.

  • This song doesnt have aggressiveness neither emotion or mellow...wtf is this anyway?

  • You know your fucked when the door opens and your surgeon turns round and its Jonny 'rotten'.

  • @randyslicker that was hilarious!

  • sex pistols..?

  • any one seen the 1966 film cathy come home? i think the line cathy go home without your daughter is a refrence to that film! or am i just pointing out somthing abvious :s

  • Rotten = god...

f**k those eurotrash STD carriers... f*** sluts (male and female haha)

never heard this song before, thanks a lot for the upload...

  • like seriously, this song is amazing and this video is fucking awesome

  • whoa, been hunting for this tune for ages. randomly typed "we want your body, we want your body" into google and finally know what this song is now!!!!

i knew that was fucking Johnny singing, im not surprised. never knew he'd formed another group like this.

    such a fucking great sound

thumbs up for 6400 people, Houston oh I miss what you were :(

  • Johnny beautiful.

  • this song has been in my head for the last few days. Very catcy and unique at once. A true original...PIL

  • Anyone else think this is PiL's weirdest track (excluding metal box of course...)??

  • 1:50 to 2:10 Best break/solo ever in a song

  • One of the more clever missives from the deserted 80's gasping music hole...leave it to J. Rotten and P.I.L. to juice it up...

  • Did they just run past Grace Jones in the hallway? I think they did...

  • Great Song!! Musical Magic!!

  • Everything about his mannerisms looks like bad acting to me.

  • Love this song. Must replay it a million times XD

  • Wow, reminds me of the place I work at :p LOL

  • One of P.I.L.'s best songs ever! Hope they play it at Coachella!!

  • haha look at Mr. McGeoch (R.I.P)

    and insane Lu Edmonds haha

    hilarious video love it

anybody remember when it appeared in some Beavis and Butt-head episode?

  • Re: Beavis: Yes B & B were not PiL fans. Butthead said of this that Johnny's hair is "boring". They also reviewed the Rise video (Johnny: "I could be wrong/I could be right" Butthead "You're wrong" Johnny "I could be black/I could be white" Butthead "You're white").

  • I remember dancing to this back at Krypton's (NY/CT border) in the late 80's.

PiL, New Order, Furs, DM, Smiths, Cure Flesh for Lulu, Ministry, Shriekback, Sisters of Mercy, Chameleons UK, Bolshoi......those were the days.

  • I knew I had seen this video.

Leave it to Youtube to take me in time 20 years back or more. Ok, I'm getting very old...

  • I used to have a 12" verison of this that TOTALLY kicked ass!

  • The guy with the black suit with glasses.....for a second, I thought It was Angus Scrimm from the "Phantasm" movie series =)

By the way, easily one of my favorites from PIL!

  • I remember when this song was on Bevis and Butthead, it was funny watching them 2 talk about this video

  • @SilentlySuffocating: But his echo remains... Alive.

  • The song itself reminds me of the Cure.

  • johnny rotten the sex pistol

  • nothing like the cure

  • a poor imitation ? what the fuck ru on silentlySuffocating

  • Comment removed

  • Are you kiddin ??? if it wasn't for the Sex pistols, the cure wouldn't even be around you can't mess w/ johnny Rotton !!

  • No man I think what PIL done early on in their career with Jah Woble was fantastic.

I just think this particular song see's PIL adopting The Cure's style.

I think if wasn't for Joy Division & punk music in general the Cure would've turned out very different.

  • yea....the Jah wobble era was a good time for them, to me Johnny's voice only got better after the sex pistols, & much of early brit pop does owe sooo much to Joy Division. such ashame about Ian Curtis.

  • Johnny doesn't have much of voice.

The Kinks, Small Faces, Rolling Stones & 60's psychedelic garage/rock & roll inspired brit-pop more than Joy Division did.

  • @SilentlySuffocating true but it also owes a lot to the stone roses who were all massive clash fans i know because i know them all having worked as a roadie for slaughter and the dogs who they also followed

  • @SilentlySuffocating the voices of john lydon+john lennon+noddy holder= liam gallagher who stole his personna from ian brown nobody has a voice like lydons superb

  • I couldn't agree more - don't know about Holder, personally think that's more a Noel thing.

  • @SilentlySuffocating the cure were around a long time before joy division robert smith was also a member of the banshees over the years on and off. the sound of pil at this time was very 80s electronica but the cure were always differant and influential i am a manc who knew rob gretton joy divisions manager there true sound came shortly after punk although as warsaw they entered the latter punk scene

  • Didn't the Cure start around the same time as Joy Division?

  • @nipperj61 Do your homework.

  • @m0zc0re i dont need to i saw the cure play in london a couple of months before warsaw finally found a drummer and before ian i was 16 and helped slaughter and the dogs with their gear at that time rob gretton was involved with slaughter he paid for their first recording but he used to talk about a crap band he wanted to manage laughable now but true

  • @SilentlySuffocating although they remain friends jah wobble was sacked for stealing studio time from pil for his own stuff naughty boy but fab bass player

  • I think John Lydon has the greatest voice in the whole music history, and I think it was even better in PIL than The Sex Pistols, though Pistols is my favourite band ever.

  • I've been thinking about the backstage aspect as well..i imagine it was not as bad as it would be working with Price, aka the artist, or whatever. Either way this video has a lot of relevance currently..

  • Is there a "behind the scenes" film from this clip. I wonder what it was like to work with Lydon.

Love the guy. He stands for so much. Nostalgia as well

  • rotten (L)

  • i guess lydon made most of his money of these because he done music videos and with pistols that i no of he didnt ?

  • @SquidLickShaun The Pistols did do music videos.

  • ive been looking for this one for 2 months

  • Mad Doctor Lydon! I love it!!!

  • Your perception of this song is way off. "conservative old-fogey song" from John Lydon? Listen again and again and understand that it is a rip on neo-con nonsense.

  • John is FAR from Conservative. And yet not a fanatic Liberal. He is far more about reason rather than joining a team. The song is about the problems that come of promiscuity in general. A cautionary tale. "Use your heads ya twats!" because there are often very serious results. Funny how people need to get political about such a social thing.

  • @PutzFuker God, I never thought I'd see the day when anything even remotely associated with John Lydon, let alone his very music, would or could be considered anything even slightly conservative. I think moonlily1's interpretation must be way off, with all due respect.

(I won't even get started on the social implications of the 'political' thing - waaay too deep... lets just enjoy the music!)

  • @PutzFuker ha ha ha ha hes just a MUSICIAN of course he doesnt want to give all his money to the music business or a nonprofit. YOURE OUT OF YOUR MIND!

  • @mediattackrecords want your BODY? try VEGAN master cleanser har har har har

  • Comment removed

  • @PutzFuker It's more than that Putz. For anyone aware of the, lets say 'Agenda'.

  • @PutzFuker - Its a song about common sense and not relying on medicine to help you, as they see you as a cash cow and don't care about the consequences...or your mental health.

  • @PutzFuker not that he's conservative, just more so than the usual left of Lenin sort that populated this genre...

  • if you're attractive I'd heartily shag you, but condemn your promiscuity if you didn't think my penis or sexual prowess measured up!

  • that sounds fair.

  • @moonlily1

were you listening to it on mute? Listen to the lyrics you witless woman!

  • @moonlily1 I think it's a commentary about how sex is part of the commodification of culture and not an abstinence song. He just says sex "without precautions" will potentially cause you to get diseases and need abortions. That's just common sense.

  • @moonlily1 I think you may have gotten the wrong meaning out of this song. But hey nothing wrong with that as it can happen.

  • @moonlily1 gross really gross language by the way

  • johnny would've made a great big screen Joker. too late?

  • This video is awesome :) J.Rotten is splendid

  • Nothing but love. To Paraphrase SavCub, the video is disturbing and the song weird. No just about it. PIL makes me happy!

  • This video is just disturbing and the song is just plain weird.

  • JOhn is a Badass!!

  • i like his hair.

  • PIL was way more musically complex than the Pistols. The Pistols were the right for the time, but I like the stuff he did after. I'd love to see him do some more PIL stuff.

  • PiL my all time favourite band...its not a crime not to be commercially successful!! Kudos to the band for making the music they wanted...

  • Thank our lucky stars some had been able to rise above the fashion industry and love song mill before the collapse of music as we knew it. Medical industry will triage those without money into the grave... hence, "we want your money".

  • Well what a great song from a great man!

  • haha no this is where you lost the plot!

  • Love Johnny always

  • THAT GUY 'S ONE

  • Love PIL always!!!

  • remnants of Johnny Rotten. Bits, not enough bits.

  • what exactly are those bright red objects in his hair...pipecleaners?

  • fuck, i saw these guys in a very small setting. maybe 3000 tops. boulder colorado collage town. THEY KICKED ASS! PIL take me back!

  • 1:24 LOL :)

  • There are PiL shirt available. I know someone who has one.

  • Brit Pop in '80s. No one ever can reach that point of creativity. and I'm afraid, no one ever will...

  • i would love to hear pil with johnny singing, but with punk riffs and beats. im not liking the music so much, but great fucking lyrics

  • i wonder if they have PiL shirts

  • No. They don't!

  • Great song! Johnny was hot!

  • "Was"?

I think he still is hot!

  • Oh my God what a mistake, you're right! He's still fucking hot!

  • give me thumbs up if this is your fave song!

  • @track8fodderstompf clever one.

  • @track8fodderstompf You don´t deserve it.

  • i'd think it a great tune if britney did it. the lyrics are great...lydon can turn ten paragraphs and put it into one stanza. but, freedom of speech is alive and i respect your opinion. most people can't get past his voice.

  • Cheers, it's good to see that you respect the free speech of others unlike track8fooder who just can't see the trees for the forest.

  • Yeah, you all think this is a brilliant track but would you still think it so fantastic if it was some no-name nobody singing the same song?? Think about it. I was a teenager when this band was around and no "body" bought there records and PIL came and went unnoticed much like a fart in a jacuzzi. It's ok to say that you think this song sucks. Alot of other people did and still do. You can do much better Rotten. Get it together and stop living off of the ghost of the Sex Pistols.

  • This is a tame thing. He has done well to reinvent himself as a loveable Steptoe, see recent reviews of Sex Pistols live videos, as per the usual press. Although things went pear shaped after 1981, when it all got a bit disappointing, I do recall the 1986 album, called album, being good in bits. Especially the last track, which was very doomladen, otherwordly, and ultimately uplifting. Because it has a guitar bit on it which defies belief. Especially if you got into punk in 1976, like I did.

  • yes i would because lydon isnt even my fave band member and also your saying lydon is all that matters- you are wrong

people would still listen to it because the music is great and i like how when levene and wobble was in it the sharp guitar sound and the deep bass. And your saying living off the ghost of the sex pistols- what if people just like pil or lydon so what.. to be honest its nothing to do with the sex pistols, there nothing like the sex pistols anyway so its technically not evenaghost

  • the music is totally different and i like the sex pistols but i like public image alot more and your just a moron who needs to open his or her eyes!

isnt it allowed to start something new and different, why a ghost?

    your an idiot

and i admire johnny for what he did with pil1

  • Oh, you need to get over self track8fodderstompf. I was talking about Lydon living off the memory of the Sex Pistols. I'm glad to hear that you are a PIL fan, great. I personally don't like their music. No offense to PIL fans. I'm just curious to know, have you read John Lydon's biography? It's a great book and if you haven't check it out.

  • lydon turned down the rock star lead in critters.....he's been kicking himself in the arse since...there was four of those flicks...

  • he's already performed surgery on my mind...

  • Easily one of the best song's for all time!!

  • how the hell did you get -2?

  • Beats the hell out of me track8fodderstompf O_o!?! I still say this is one of my favorite PIL songs of all time.

  • There was a film called something like "my evil friend fred" and the guy in this vid looks very much like the main char of the film.

  • your thinking of "drop dead fred". and it was rik mayall the played fred. although johnny rotten does look alot like him here

  • great song

  • Very cool song!

  • This is one scary as heck video! I love horror movies and weird music videos. This one takes the cake! ****-Excellent!

  • great, great song..

  • love it!! PIL were fantastic.

  • hahah the good old 80's

  • johnny sissorhands!

  • I think of this song every time I walk into a hospital.

MTV has fucked up my mind.

  • Haha he's so cute

  • He sure is.

  • sounds a little dated..but that's one of the best main riffs of the 80's.

  • Great song, not to sure about the vid though.

    Bring on the new Album!!!

  • This song is amazing, I like everything about it, even the girl that groans near the start, man, that gets me going, mmm, nice. body give me. <3

  • its a special recipe of attractiveness, intensity (did I say intensity?), braininess, artistic creativity, and natural style, refrigerate until it reaches a cool rebellion, sprinkle with a sense of humor, then bake on low for 51 years

  • That´s true!! I don´t know, but to me he´s so attractive, specially as you´ve said in the Pistols days, and I think that with the time he became, we could say more sophisticated, and that also happened with his music. But who cares!!! He´s brilliant, he´s a genius, and if he has no problem with his looks, why would I? What I´m interested in is his music, so whatever...but I still think he´s really attractive!!! I love you John!!! Man, why did I arrive too late...

  • I love John Lydon! He might not be conventionally attractive, but there's a certain something about him that makes him so attractive to me, esp. in the Pistols days! In addition, he's a fascinating person, extremely brilliant, sarcastic, and funny as hell!

  • Biting satire indeed. John is a living icon and it has all been said already really.

This is not one of PIL's greatest moments to be honest. But listenable.

And to those who are creeped out by John in this vid, watch Death Disco or Religion :-)

  • Nothing bad for an Irish guy born in London at the same daywhen his immigrant parents came to England. Despite -- and even because? -- the meningitis, the total ammnesya at his 8, the curve on his spine, the lack of musical education... HE IS THE BEST!

Love him or hate him: this man broke the Music History in 2 parts: Before and After the Punk. HE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE ENTIRE POP CULTURE HISTORY. He changed the course of rivers of thoughts. The rest is the rest.

  • I disagree.

  • I completely agree with you! Those who can't appreciate his genius just don't have the capacity to understand his place in history! The man is and will always be a legend! Love him or hate him, you've gotta admit that!

  • greatwst pilo song ever

  • pretty much all of the PIL albums after Flowers of Romance stink, but there are certainly some scattered great tracks, and this is one of them

  • Johnny Rotten kicks ass.....old school punk motherfucker

  • Ah, the MTV generation, to whom an artist's physical appearance matters more than their musical or lyrical talents. :/

  • Who cares what he looks like.

  • I love PIL, but, John is hideous. Yellow teeth?!?!?!?

  • His heart is what makes him beautiful...(((not to mention his style...(winkies))))

  • yeah lol. but i think we all agree he looks downright creepy here!!

  • Agree with you. He is amazingly talented, smart and gorgeous. Even though he thinks of himself as "hideously ugly".

  • here's another part of that minority! John is so talented, and pretty good looking as well!

  • The McGeoch - Dias - Edmonds - Smith lineup of PiL is criminally ignored. My favorite lineup of PiL.

  • the talented mr Lydon

  • PiL Rock

  • Great song!

  • John Lydon. Gorgeous and extremely talented!

  • no lol! he aint gorgeouse but hes talented....and funny

  • I agree in every way. He is talented for sure, and I personally think he's very attractive. I don't think we're in the majority though (which is usually a good thing!)

  • good song .wierd dude.

  • lol love it!

  • Saw PiL in 1992. Great show!

  • Directed by Richard Stanley of Dust Devil and Hardware fame...great video

  • happy

  • HAPPY ?
