  • I have never seen the trailer for this and I saw this back in the 90's when i was a kid. Scary movie. Love to see it again.

  • I originally saw this film many years ago. Saw it again last year and loved it. You can really see what the director was trying to achieve with a quite limited budget. The screen shines every time Peter Cushing appears. It's too bad he didn't have a bigger part but they had him for only 5 days of shooting. Following that, he had to leave as he was required on the set of a film called "Star Wars". Also, one can see the makes of Dead Snow were highly influenced by Shock Waves.

  • *!!!!!!!--SHOCK WAVES--!!!!!!!!*

  • Finally saw this movie last year(Oct.'10)for the first time.During the 1980's,remember the trailers on vhs video.During the late 1990s and early 2000 years, advertisement & reviews in horror movie magazines.

  • This film is GOLD! Full of camp and cheese, but still pretty dam awesome, and entertaining.

I remember seeing it on USA's Saturday Nightmares back in the late 80's and rented it from Netflix about 8 years ago.

It was recently posted on youtbe but got taken down. I gotta add this beaut to my collection. It's definitely worthy of it!

  • Yeah, they walk through water really slowly and kick down doors... that's "something else" alright

  • lol "its something.... else"

  • A Peter Cushing film I haven't seen? This cannot be permitted for long!

  • Oh, goodie............Netflix has it!

  • Hard for me to fathom that this was the year 'Star Wars' came out; and I used to wonder what was on the competing screens? Some parts of the 70's should be left locked up and forgotten.

  • @granddad2002 I doubt this played at any lrgit movie theater in the US. Just the grindhouses and drive-ins.

  • @granddad2002 Star Wars is an overrated peice of shit, .. . so go fuck yourself!!

  • fantastic movie. One of the true lost horror gems of the 1970s.

HORRIBLE trailer. None of the really good shots of the underwater nazis and no

    shots of Peter Cushing. Lame

  • there not dead, their pineing for the fjords

  • @drafe007 Pining for the fjords???? What kind of talk is that?

  • @bfmanagement1 it,s got beautiful plumage. nice to see someone who got the monty python reference.

  • @drafe007 "Plumage? it's stone dead!" Anyone worth their weight should get that. :)

  • @drafe007 Well if they are not dead...I will just wake them up "HERE ZOMBIE! ZOMBIE MONSTER I HAVE SOME FRESH MEAT FOR YOU!! ZOMBIE-ZOMBIE!!! You see now that is what I call a ex nazi

  • i think the movies now a days are definetly better than the old ones better acting better graphics, and the zombies look like zombies

  • which is the first film to have nazi zombies? i seriously want to know.

  • @sugaryourmind Outpost?

  • sorry but zombie movies shouldnt be pg

  • im stunned , just.........stunned

  • 'You are indeed very stupid. Now it is too late'.

  • That's a line that could be used in so many contexts.

  • I recommend watching this movie on VHS. It looks better and gives the film a better mood.

  • Hell, the POSTER of this movie scared the crap out of me.

Does anybody know if it was inspired by the finale of the Illuminatus! Trilogy?

  • I happen to have the original one sheet movie poster for SHOCK WAVES availabe for any collectors or horror movie buffs.

  • This film has been dubbed "Best of the Nazi zombie movies." Now that doesn't say a lot, considering the slim competition:

"Oasis of the Zombies" (aka "Bloodsucking Nazi Zombies") is easily one of the worst movies I have ever suffered through most of. True crap snore-fest.

"Zombie Lake" I have not seen, but I have heard is also a real stinkeroony.

THIS film, however, I have heard only glowing recommendations for. I can't wait until I can get my hands on a copy on DVD.

  • Don't forget about the recent "Dead Snow."

  • Nazi Zombies...

    They really hate doors.

  • Nazi zombies coming out of the ocean to reek havoc???

    Oscar winner. Hands down.

This film is pretty good, highly recommended. But I agree with someone else, I don't think this came out in '77.

  • vraiment bon film !!!! ambiance vraiment cool!!!

  • Wow. Wish my dad was that cool. I love this film - impoverished but with such a unique atmosphere. Cushing's presence helps too.

  • My dad was a grip in this movie. His names on IMDB

  • POST IT! PLEASE!!!

  • I'M PLEADING!!! If anyone has this movie, will you post it??

  • go out and buy it u cheap ass

  • Awesome film.

  • fucking great flick. best to watch curled up on the couch with the flu and a can of pringles.

  • true, but only went into wide release in 1977..

  • This came out in 1974, not 1977.

  • OH YEAH ,,,, this was one of the good ones - real campy & twisted zombie movie!!! Almost forgot it existed.

You're gonna want plenty of cheese puffs, beer, and something illegal to smoke while watching this one. Hash works best for this film in my professional opinion.

  • i agree!

  • cheesy cheesy cheesy i am going to rent this movie!

  • the trailer is good but cheesy make up effects and savage streets has better make up effects than this movie!

  • cheesy make up effects but a good trailer!!!

  • I own it on BEta still for christ sake. Great zombie flick. wonder where it was filmed.

  • it was filmed in florida wadero1

  • I remember renting this movie for a bday sleepover years ago. Wow, this brings back memories.

  • Love this film. Somebody had the whole thing posted on youtube, but it got removed. That sucks!

I'd love to watch it again

  • I have it too, one of the all-time great horror movies and yes BROOK ADAMS WAS A BABE IN HER DAY!!!

  • i agree 1,ooo%!

  • I need to get this!

  • Nothing spiced up a B-movie like Peter Cushing! The man's screen presence could negate the lesser aspects of even the cheesiest script.

  • Good point, rqbuchanan!

With all of the garbage coming out of Hollywood these days, Mr.Cushing, IMO, may deserve a posthumous belated Oscar!

  • Good movie, but it's so damn SLOW. The zombies don't show up until more than half an hour in!

  • really if that is the case murphychacho i am going to rent this movie then thanks dude!

  • One of my favorite flix EVER!!

  • Same director as 'Eyes of A Stranger' with Jennifer Jason Leigh as a blind girl being harassed by a killer (haven't seen it tho)

  • My all time favoret horror film! Nothing like zombified nazi killers in the tropics! Peter Cushing was God!! RIP.

  • I love this movie!!!
