That's a lot damn bigger than a finger nail clipping. A gold kruggerand which is 91.67% gold is 1.28 inches in diameter and .11 inches thick(very slightly bigger). For being an ex-gold miner you are amazingly ignorant about this. By the way, 24k is pure gold and the 18k in the video is 75% gold.

You have to understand pawn shops have to prepare that gold to be scrapped, save it up over time then send it off to get scrapped and they still don't get spot price. If you want to get spot for your gold, scrap and melt it yourself. Pawn shops are not to blame. They have to make money to stay in business and usually give a fair price for scrap gold.

@FreakKeeper, i manage to negotiate to 95%at pawnshop, while the person next to me is selling her gold and the pawnshop guy sees she doesn't know anything about gold and rips her off and pays her 35% of the spot, so i got mad and took (one 10k chain-12.2grams) and (one 18k ring 4.7grams) and melted the chain separate from the ring and then together, the spot price was $1255 at the time and the chain and ring cost $346 at spot, but i told them it was all 18k and they tested 18k side so i got $501
