  • Fantastic man. Loved the custom Bokeh and overall direction. Kudos!

  • What type of camera is being used? PLEASE tell me

  • you need a how-to video on this!

  • As Freddies brother, he really looks like him with the glasses :D

  • i tried this but it ended up that the edges of my photos are black because they are covered by the cardboard. How did you do it?

  • Can someone tell me how to do that?? :(

  • so what if I use white cardboard paper? has anyone tried it? How does it affect it?

  • @beantai69 I am not sure, but it is a given that black objects absorb light while white reflects the wavelengths. I'm sure that's related.

  • I love the hearts!

  • i see hearts everytime i see one of your videos :D

  • aw, hearts instead of lights! ^^ how cuteee!

  • think i'd like you better if you shave. but you're cool =)

  • Love every video you made.

  • If you like this effect check out my video where I used it in a different way! Give your honest opinion! /watch?v=hJwcreczL4A

  • freddiewong posted this aswell, so freddie is probably doing the video with jimmy :D

  • This is GREAT! Did you make the lens covers or buy them? The fleur de lis is interesting, but I prefer the hearts. I absolutely LOVE the shot of you with the sparkler, shooting hearts from your hand!

  • The song's called:

"How You See The World No.2" by Coldplay :) <3

  • How you see the World - Coldplay

  • KAI?!

  • @videoman417 heheh, good one!

  • It's good with this song, I can just imagine how awesome it would have been with the song 1979 that jimmy originally had.

  • coldplay!! <3

  • the worst thing about this is.... it ends...

  • love the effects with the lighting. you have a beautiful voice. best of luck man

  • oh... nevermind..... cool video though

  • How do you guys make the lights shaped like heart!? That's pretty awesome!!!

  • u spelled broken wrong!

  • @topasnaj He can't spell something wrong if he didn't mean it.

Bokeh is blur in Japanese; in this case the beautiful lights behind him.

  • i like how ur name is jimmy luck

  • only thing I didn't like was how it ended abruptly. You'd better make a full version!!! So cool~~~~~~~!

  • Very well done.

  • SONG ANYONE??? PLz i'm dying D;

  • BOKEHLICIOUS words from Kai W.

  • Great idea! Awesome job!

  • baus

  • Love it

  • Song sounds like it's being sang by Chris Martin.

  • bokeh effect is given with a filter u place on ur camera, the shape u want is cut out onto a black paper the same diameter of the lens and it is placed on it. all lights and blur focused objects appear in the shape u cut out, its a very cool small trick

  • what lens are you using on your 7d? please do tell..

  • DigitalRev:

    /watch?v=H5jjr_vKruU

  • brokeh lenses are awesome... i always love when they use it :)

  • @Lovesong143 Coldplay - How You See The World (No. 2) :)

  • @Lovesong143 how you see the world

  • @Lovesong143 How you see the world- coldplay:)

  • this effect is done by placing a light-blocking material (like black construction paper) over the lens, with the desired shape cut out. it takes a few tries to get the cutout size right. When you get it right, things that are in focus will still be in focus and things that begin to "blur" will match the shape of the cutout, rather than the usual circular blurs with a circular lens

  • i saw those on the Scott Pilgrim Movie!

  • nice effects O.O

is that an effect on your cam or just an edit ?

(the heart and the flor de lis)

  • I'm not usually a fan of Bokeh effects, but some of the applications in this video are really nice... For example those windows scrolling past and that blurred background when it looks like a newspaper stand made out of hearts. Really nice.

  • Song : Coldplay - How you see the world

  • Nobody gives a fuck on who sent you here...

  • This is just GENIOUS! \o/

  • so pretty!

  • Coldplay o.O ?

  • damn you jimmy! i wanted that channel name LOL.

  • i come under the flag of freddiew, hi from the freddiew nation xD

  • i just come back here to listen the music

  • mickys ear?

  • it's not safe to drive while frying on acid =P

  • i wonder what hes tripping on?

  • Terrible music, but amazing idea for bokeh. It's beautiful in mute.

  • @BLASTcollective Are you retarded?

  • @mvspidey Obviously. Because having a different opinion from you causes mental disability. Fucking mong. Think of something constructive to say. Coldplay are a terrible, cringe-worthy band of talentless cunts. That's my opinion. Now fucking get over it. Kthnxbai. x

  • "***** sent me here"

how gay is that? i mean, i also was sent here but freddiew, but its gay making a comment about it. its not realated to the video.

    ----

    good video. i like

  • look so gd ~!

  • no fadeout ..... :(

  • HOW?!?!

  • That's beautiful.

  • That pretty close to the music video by Cajun Dance Party - Colourful Life....

  • you look like joe hahn from linkin park

  • bokeh rules! dSLRs lens looked better than compact ones only because of nice bokehs...

  • somebody likes filters

  • BOKEH-LICIOUS BABY!!!

  • woah... so that glowy ball you see when you squint and look at a street light is called a "Bokeh"?

  • @DollarTaco yes pretty much. it's the distortion of light based on the aperture of the lens (which also applies to our pupils)

  • @DollarTaco bokeh is another term for depth of field, meaning like blured background while the foreground (object in front) is in focus :)

  • Everyone, just to tell you: if your using a Canon DSLR for video, you can hack it to get heart shaped bokeh.

    FYI

  • I remember this is some sort of lens effect, but not sure exactly how it was done.

  • So many hearts!

  • cool bokeh with nice song:)

  • no fair :( you guys have so much money to do this stuff. I don't even have an slr T.T

  • @mexicanchinese All you need is a camera and little piece of some dark paper. :)

  • thats definitely coldplay

  • The Heart Thing Is Cute! :)

  • How did you make the out of focus circles appear as hearts? Was it an adjustment to the shutter blades?

  • Thats so cool :D

  • drink alcohol, drive vehicle. see hearts.

  • Beautiful bokeh.

  • freddie sent me here...how do you get that video effect, is it post or pre op?

  • it was good but the song did not go well with the video

  • Now 4:15 am and I'm going to bed, thank you!

  • search digitalrevtv they show u how to get these effects

  • WAIIIIT WHHAAAAAT???!!!! IS THIS SOME SPECIAL LENS OR THIS IS VFX?

  • @ussnimitz3666 cut a small heart in center of a cardboard paper, then put in front of a DSLR lens with big aperture like f/1.4. You'll see it.

  • @hitman133295 damn, ima try that with my 5D2 and my friends 85 1.2 when I get home, now that i think of it, yea that should work. wow im stupid sometimes

  • My heart goes out to those suffering in Japan!

  • Rhett and Link.

  • w.t.f... how did you manage to do that ?? pretty amazing stuff here

  • the fleur de lis effect is fucking sweet!

  • Were the streetlight hearts influenced by the Scott Pilgrim movie?

  • @LegitEpicTechie First thing I thought of...

  • @glowerpower Sarcasm? Haha if you notice the background when Scott and Ramona kiss, the streetlights were hearts. At any rate though, the music video is great.

  • @LegitEpicTechie No sarcasm. If you look behind Ramona, the lights are "x" 's. ;)

  • Love The Smashing Pumpkins dude...

  • What ?!

No gun ? No stunt ? No shooting ?

    Something wrong here...! ;-))

    Nice effects, guys !

  • haha Freddie DIDNT send me here suckas!

but i do like his videos....

  • Freddiew like it :D

  • Comment removed

  • tutorial please

  • FREDDIE

    This is amazing

  • Like this if freddiew sent you here.

  • holyy. how did you make those hearts!?

  • Is that an editing effect, or did you actually use a heart shaped aperture?

  • @Xinfinitude heart shape

  • @It's a heart shape whole you put in front of your lense to make the aperture look like hearts. It's very cheap at their website: Photojojo store

  • @Xinfinitude clearly edited

  • @Xinfinitude

of course they just used some heart shaped hole in paper over the lens..

  • @Xinfinitude its actually quite easy to do, you just cut the shape (paper, card etc.) and then the sheet acts as a fake lens hood. Then as you shoot for a normal bokeh the shapes will appear as you have cut out on your sheet

  • @Xinfinitude Its made by putting a heart filter over the lens of your camera

  • @Xinfinitude I was wondering the same thing. So I tweeted freddie to ask if it was post production:

' @fwong : @DanCole3D All practical effects with lenses and pieces of paper '

  • @Xinfinitude its obviously an editing effect, but its not a standard plug in that you get with AE CS5, its an aftermarket plug in that's fairly expensive.

  • @yourwhiteshadow Nope.

  • @yourwhiteshadow well, not exactly , i can do this with a standard photoshop image .. well, ive tried it before, but not so many, just tested it on some street lights, and not like this one which almost all glares are replaced.. improvise, its cheaper . :)

  • @yourwhiteshadow It's not an editing effect. It's actually from the lens itself.

  • @Xinfinitude - Assuming he did it the cheap/easy way, you just get some black (or dark colored) cardboard paper or something similar and cut it into the same size as your lense. Then cut the desired shape relatively small into the center of the circle (crafting knifes, etc work well for this.). Make a small hood around your lens to tape your new aperture to. Lights that are out of focus will (should) be the shape of the aperture. Look up Bokeh here on YouTube, lots of cool stuff = ]

  • @Xinfinitude its basicly shapes put on lenes its called a bokeh kit

  • freddiew sent me here
