  • Jar Head!

  • Great group, that drummer must of been getting heated that couldn't at least even hit those drums though!

  • We're an independent label trying to make it in this game and the best way to do that is by being more known on youtube. One of the ways we stand out is we help unsigned artists get more fans by uploading their songs for a new fan base

You can change our future with one simple click.

Please thumbs up so other people can see this and check out our channel and comment with feedback if you like, also if you think we could improve.

If you like check the other artists we have over 90 vids up!

    Cheers!

  • don't live in the past this century is good the same you need just to search more

  • Oh man I need TV... when I got T Rex...

  • Great.. I love you too much simplyvinyl [dot] com For vinyl submission.

  • Correction...Make that Air drumming throughout the whole video... :))

  • Love the 8 or so seconds of air drumming at 16-24 seconds... too funny. (I realize this was common for groups to perform to their recorded tracks while 'performing live on stage...' ) Just a funny observation.... Peace.

  • Truely a r+r tune that makes you hot.

  • AWESOME!

  • THIS SONG IS REALLY SIMILAR TO "SHE'S A BITCH" by Prince

  • @pachinko32 I BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE THAT BACKWARDS, MY FRIEND. >:-\

  • @01vaughanfan YEAH, OF COURSE IT'S OLDER! >-D

  • @pachinko32 "Hey there, thanks for not being offended." There are good people on here and then you have your

chazbiker types. ("Oh Lord have mercy on what that may start!") All the best pachinko32. Godspeed.

  • @01vaughanfan

    Eh eh!..

    True, true...

    Cheers from Venice! :-)

  • i like justin bieber

  • @bondsee ew

  • Baritone Saxophone, pinnacle of cool

  • @consul1957 The neck he put on his orange Les Paul was a 70's custom neck with the volute. The guitar on here is a '54. Ringo has owned this guitar since the '70's apparently.

  • Between 1971 and 1973 Marc Bolan was the greatest rock star who ever lived. He had it all during that period no-one else is close, not even The Beatles or Elvis. I've been through pretty much all of contemporary music from 1955 to now and that's the conclusion I've come to, but I knew that all along. Some people might think I'm mad for saying that but I really mean it. Long live Marc.

  • esto es un video o una mimica....

  • zz top aproves this song!

  • And DO NOT FORGET THE SAX...wait. Or is the THE SEX????

  • @dajesusblues I see what you did thar.

  • Barney Panofsky....

  • 29 people didnt get it on...

  • This song always reminds me of Billy Elliot! haha

  • Marc's guitar playing is epic in here!! :)

  • From when T.Rex ruled the charts and minds of young people!

  • Clearly says Willy

  • ..wonder if Marc put the black guitar neck off the guitar he's using here onto his orange Les Paul...?

  • jarhead!

  • This is NOT "Live on German Top of The Pops show"; it's "Lip-Synched on German Top of The Pops show." Still, any chance to gaze upon the lovely Marc Bolan is fine by me!

  • @BinkyM Yeh the drummers sticks are 2 feet off the drums

  • Wish I was born in '64, not '94

  • @fodzorz hahahaha me too bud, me too.

  • @fodzorz Hey Dude, I was born in '61 and I think you

    are just about right!!

  • @fodzorz That would have made you 8 when this song came out in 1972...pick 1954 instead, lol..:)

  • I love this song

  • Hey villy!!!!

  • This song makes me want to get it on

  • holy shit, i always thought this was a rolling stones song

  • @HBK1337 I had never thought about it but now that u said it I also hear the R Stones sound...

  • yeeeaaahh!

  • drums at 0:20 hahahaha dude's not even close to hitting the hi-hat

  • The kid thats presenting them at the beginning of the video is soooo cuteeeee!!!!

  • I started to love black Les Pauls after i saw this video.

  • simon: these guys were pretty popular for a band that only had one hit; pretty incredible how much airplay this song got in the 80s;;

  • Was in London when he died back in 1977.With the headlines of the day,you would have thought a member of the royal family had passed.

  • I love the song, but it is so obvious they are lip syncing...check out the drummer. He never hits a cymbal or a drum once.

  • @slabmaster

its top of the pops, the show is famous for everybody lip syncing haha

  • @potatoface13 only coz ther not allowd 2 actually play or sing 4 whatever reason :s if u watch status quo play "pictures of matchstick men" on totp u cn clearly see them all grinning at each other as if there is some hidden joke >><< lol

  • T. Rex was a real 20th Century Boy....

  • I don't really don't like T. Rex but when I write and record music it sort of sounds like it. If you want to hear how T.Rex music sounds 2011 style click on wisztrock. I think you might like it.

  • I photographed T Rex in 1975 in Calgary. To see the shots go to .ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • Great song. RIP Marc the song lives on.

  • luft trommels. ha

  • this song makes me want to fuck for some reason

  • @sickkguitarplayer6 LOL! For me it makes me want to jump up and hit my head on the ceiling.

  • @sickkguitarplayer6 ooh naughty !!

  • @sickkguitarplayer6 ...so did the girls in the audience...

  • @sickkguitarplayer6 Get It On!

  • @sickkguitarplayer6

I wonder why...The innuendo used was so clever back then, and even when things got pretty hot with the phrasing, the censors didn't know what to do. So they didn't do anything. And the Title?? Got you, as they intended!! Enjoy! Bostonrockgrrl

  • @sickkguitarplayer6

(laughter) funniest comment I've seen for a while. Loved it! Lamar You base MF! LOL!

  • Only just realised that this links very much to JD's 'sex gong' hahaha

  • dude, this song was way ahead of it's time.

  • I wanna ply this at my 50thYyeeHa...(lols)

  • i have the first press 45 rpm .

  • This was no.1 when I was born!!

  • I think Marc would of approved of Noel Gallaghers interpretation of his Riff ( which he stole himself) on cigarettes and alcohol !!

  • 2011 Hot As Song,Rock On Marc Bolan,Eva.N.Z.

  • SINCE WHEN DID MARC KEEP HIS AMPLIFIER IN HIS ARSE POCKET ? !!

  • It,s really a cool song.

  • Unshmoof T rex shmoof Get it on

  • I was born in 51 and still hammer the highway to this one..

  • @augustus816 awesome happy aalmost 60th bday! :) i was born in 51 keep the era alive and happy 2011

  • I fell bad for anyone that is famas some may get this but would you like to have every one on the globe think your a jerk and judge you by the stupid media. the media makes people think your a good person or bad person if your famas but if your not your not judged all ready and can make good friends and keep them

  • I read this book once about music... Yeah it was pretty cool, talking about hendrix, led zepp, t.rex. It was all good. Until it said Madonna was a rock performer. Then I just... Put it down.

  • This song makes me want to die... to be with Bolan again

  • Good・・・!!

  • i was born in 1986 and i remember as a child my mother used to play this album in the car when i was 4 and a half .every time i hear this song it brings me back to the good times in my life, my parents broke up when i was 7 years old so it brings lots of lovely memories.

  • @Amonkeysnut The Beatles????? Nnnnope, never heard of them. Sorry. What kind of music do they play?

  • that song have a similar sound with cigarretes and alcohol

  • @luiggi1994 Oasis is my favorite band mate but they took the riff from this song.

  • @JohnLlovera but oasis is better

  • Philadelphia/Baltimore/DC and Chicago are stuck in the old days... go to one of them for nostalgia

  • @clarkbell True! NY is the same. The Northeast is just rehashing old stuff all the time.

  • @westchesterny How do you mean that? I just know the shopping centers are all dated around here.

  • @clarkbell Just like DC/Chicago. Art-wise no new voices, seems like, not in any area of "arts." Like Lady Gaga channels Madonna or something. That's the culture there. Boring. Nothing fresh. About every ten years, there's some new so-and-so, exactly like the old so-and-so, but just rehashed. Like fashion, white is the new black, black the new brown, blah blah. Like they exhausted anything they had to say.

  • why the fuck are we argueing with each other bout british music and american music dudes? cant we all appreciate that we had both of these sets of music. one thing that winds me up more than the modern day shit are people that argue like kids. we have this and that. jeez

  • Must gave sucked for the drummer--he was told not to hit his drums for this lip sync video.

  • Did I already mention that Ian MacDonald is the guy on the sax? This was right after or during his time with King Crimson, then of course later he was in Foreigner on their good albums. He is on the album too according to the credits.

  • This record is an English answer to the "Wall of Sound" It's fantastic.

  • we americans smoke that sweet herb and american music kicks the shit outta pussy ass crooked teeth british bands any day of the week lol

  • @rocklobsta1415 England invented this kind of music dumbass, their was a small band known as the Beatles heard of them? they influenced loads of bands and they most likley indirectly influenced T-Rex, sorry did i use to big words for you?

  • @Amonkeysnut So Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, or any blues artist had no influence in rock whatsoever? Am I reading your comment right?

  • @camarorider67 i never said that :L i said the beatles started THIS kind of rock, i never said they invented it :) they mearly influenced lots of rock bands :D so no your not reading my comment right :)

  • @Amonkeysnut True, but they were influenced by the people I mentioned.

  • @Amonkeysnut You should learn how to write English properly before you go calling people dumbass. Get a life man, this is the Internet. You are arguing with someone you have never actually met before. Wow.

  • @abick2011 i dont need to meet them to voice my opinion mate :) like you said this is the internet i can say whatever the i damn well please! :D so i say your a fucktard, know why i say that? because its the internet people can say what they want without having to know the person there insulting :)

  • @Amonkeysnut Okay, mate.

  • same comments again from mjw9363. It's a hate campaign against Marc Bolan. It is like hate spam. what an arsehole.

  • Laughed my head off at catdog420's comments above. How true!

  • Glam Rock at it's best!

  • not all music today is shite but a majority is,the mid to late sixties turned out some real music, and people knew how to party, nowdays everyones to pre occupied with how they look and if there not fuking there fighting, they just cant relax and let go,its real plastic.

  • One of the coolest songs ever.

  • all his songs are like 2 minutes long its sly

  • @fabregas2k9

You are so wrong! There were songs like "The Wizard", "Rip Off", "Teenage Dream", "Left Hand Luke" and so on and so on, that were ower 10 minutes or longer! So do not speak pure shit, would You now!

  • That's not live

  • Unique as they come.

  • like the great stephen fry said, there is something incredibly camp about the modern german language

  • Another great performer that passed too soon. Marc was a very underrated talent.

  • Marc Bolan Is The Bob Dylan Of The Glam Rock, R.I.P

  • Live???????? Huh??

    しかもこのメンバーの配置が(・∀・)イイ!!

  • lol 0:20 air drumming

  • Bolan is god.

  • this is so obviously playback

  • oohh the 70,s! god, i thought bolan was god!! still think he,s kool tho!!!

  • Siouxsie Sioux's a huge Marc Bolan fan. She's cited the album this single's from, "Electric Warrior" ,as her favourite rock album of all time. Not that she's a clone (she's a great singer in her own right), but it's evident his singing style influenced hers. She often likes to do that Bolan-esque quavery vibrato thing often at the end of song lines, just like Marc!

  • Seaworthy fabric cañaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • 0.14 yeaaah cause that drumms playing :)

  • Glamrock på sitt bästa.

  • oh, he was speaking German? at first I thought something was wrong with him!

  • milujem ich skladby uz od svojej puberty az doteraz, skoda,ze marc bolan uz nie je.....

  • babycakes852...it's SO sad to see your douche generation make a dumb statement like that. You don't know shiite.

  • Definetly One of the best rock songs ever, and one of the best presenters for a show

  • the whole sound...so full....soooo vibey and potent......it hits you in the head and almost knocks you over !.........i never fail to feel more alive ....when i hear this track.......one of Marcs best....bless him.......................

  • how come yall dont watch ballroom of mars?? its so awesome :)

  • FANTASTIC SONG!!!!

  • I LOOOVE THIS SONG!

  • What is often overlooked are the talents of Drummer, Bill Legend and Bass player, Steve Currie, who provided a really solid groove during live performances. Steve Currie often had to shadow Marc Bolan's rambling guitar solos and bring him back to the root of the song while sustaining a steady but imaginative bassline.

  • @cricketbat08 can you say "Sony Records"

  • @cricketbat08 can you say "Sony Records"

  • First concert I ever saw. 73. Opened up for 3 Dog Night. Half way through their act a 30 or 40 foot stage light fell over. The only thing that saved them was other wires strung over their heads. Otherwise it would have been Bang a Gong.

  • R.I.P. Marc. I hope you're getting it on and banging some gongs in heaven.

  • LIPSINKED!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!! WHY?!?!?! damn. oh well. just have to keep searching.

  • @GGattuso1991 Top Of The Pops

  • damn Mace , you hit it right on the nail , i couldnt say it any better , i grew up in the seventies and four fingers were 10 bucks and people didnt carry guns either ,

  • one highly under rated bass player ,in fact he is brilliant and played a large part in creating the t rex sound.i hope to be playing and loading some trex on my site before long.

  • The definition of a Rockstar!

  • the drummers not hitting anything lol XD

  • Rock on out with your Baritone Sax! Yah! High School Jazz Band veteran, no doubt! Har!

  • Every time I watch this it makes me smile to see drummer Bill Legend missing his cymbals by about a foot!! T.Rex were so bloody brilliant!!! Magic!!
