These aircraft were on exercise in Venezuela. This was not an intercept situation, the F-15 and other NATO aircraft officially escorted the Tu-160's across the Atlantic. Just official diplomatic courtesy.
I suspect if the russians had not informed NATO of these bombers crossing the Atlantic, they would have been detected very late and a rather nasty political incident may have occured. Mega aircraft, take off payload of any combat aircraft.

There were also 300 000+ Machineguns, 30 000+ Artillery pieces, 20 000+ Tanks, 16 000+ Aircraft, and 100's of Submarines and other Ships. The percentage of foreign made small arms between 1941-45 in Soviet Army use was never greater than 5%, the USSR produced more Tanks(90 000+) than any other country involved in WW2. 36 000 IL-2 Fighter Bombers were built in the USSR.

NKVD Security Detachments acted as Military Police and tracked down deserters and sent them back to their units(99% of the time). Nothing of the sort as you described ever happened, not even in Penal Infantry Companies composed of criminals.

He began redesigning his aircraft for smaller and more powerful engines and then died in 1890 without finishing it.

what's the number up to now??? 18 maybe 19 with around a dozen at any given time ready for combat... hahahahahhaa pathetic.. for a country whose ENTIRE DOCTRIN has revolved around overwhelming the enemy with conscripted soldiers and sub-par weapons for decades.. having a dozen or so of these high flying radar targets seems FUTILE at best...BTW there is around 100 combat operational B1-Lancers ready to bring on the pain in a real bad way comrad!!!
