Well it happened. The Southern Poverty Law Center has finally classified NOM as a hate group. So great job Alveda on supporting civil rights, you are now a known public supporter of an anti-gay hate group. How can you call yourself a civil rights leader when you support an anti-gay hate group?

1. She's not a real doctor. She has an honorary doctorate from a catholic college. I find it misleading that she refers to herself as such.
2. She has made the frankly insane claim that extending marriage equality to same sex couples is akin to genocide and that allowing same sex couples to marry would lead to human extinction at a National Organization for Marriage rally in Georgia.
3. It is shameful that she wraps herself in the reputation of her uncle while promoting intolerance.

@SpeedyBruin Yes that's right, she didn't earn her doctorate and yet she wants everyone to call her Dr King, which I will never do. She keeps using her uncles name to promote her own hatred of the LGBT community. And she actually calls herself a civil rights leader! No one who PUBLICLY supports an anti-gay hate group (NOM) can be a civil rights leader. There have already been gay marriages and nothing bad happened, I'm a woman still married to my husband, gay marriages didn't hurt mine.
