  • I only know this song because of Aaron Artis's part in Blind - What If. But, I have to say this a great song with a powerful message that makes you think about shit in this world today......

  • untouchable

  • Blind - What If brought me here !! :D

  • this tune makes you ask yourself where in the cluck is this world going. The bible divines us as sheep basically we fellowers you offten see the domino effect happen where one man does something and 20ty others fellow you just have to keep it oldschool and dont belive the hype or here say when you see it happen infront of you then you know it's true besides faith and hope

  • I miss real music. I can only hope John Legend, Aloe Blacc, etc. can keep moving in this direction.

Best to ever pick up a mic. No one ever sang so well so effortlessly.

  • you should add an S to Marvin, that would make it MARVINS GAYE, which he is, and SO AM I... I LOVE DICK!

  • Wow. I love this song. So relaxing. :)

  • QUE RICO RITMO Y SABOR QUE EN PAZ DESCANSE MARVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im not gay, i just wanna boogie to some marvin :)

  • i dont think its so much a black thing any more, it has to do with our selves and the way time was and has been layed out to take its course, whites blacks latin doesnt matter any more , murder rape drugs wars d zees! man it just dont matter any more!

  • there are a few "giants" of the music biz. Marvin is a member of that pantheon and surely one of the sweetest souls we ever got to listen to.

  • I don't like it...I Love it!!! This version is sweet and soulful. 1:35 in I heard the "Whats going on" vibe and rhythm goin on. Talented artist all around. Thanks for the putting this up...

  • Who wrote this was it Marvin Gaye or Donald Byrd and the Black Birds. I love both versions.

  • @cynrod100 Good Post. You are definitely on point for stating the "Blackbyrds/Donald Byrd" influence/vibe on this track. Instead of people coming on here and deciphering the art...the artist...there are "some" who cant "refrain" from posting their "madness!" SAD TO SAY BUT "WHERE ARE THEY GOING!" Peace!

  • No dislikes. That's what I like to see.

  • @KraigSharp93

    everyone likes marvin gaye

  • Wow, I love this man!

  • 0 dislikes. i underestimated the world and i am proud to say it!

  • I love this song.....never heard it before and I am a BIG marvin fan

  • CARDOZO HIGH SCHOOL MUST BE SO PROUD OF YOU MARVIN

    PRINCE OF MOTOWN

  • CARDOZO HIGH SCHOOL MUST BE SO PROUD OF YOU MARVIN

  • Although having the most success for the more commercially successful songs like "Sexual Healing", and "What's going on", critics will always point to songs like "Mercy Mercy" "What's going on" as songs that show his true genius and creativity. Unfortunately many do not know this gem of a cut which has everything and is relevant.. even today

  • music of today - I can't relate. Music of the 60's 70's and early 80's - what a wonderful period. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber - you gotta be kidding me!

  • rest in peace uncle marvin we miss u and love you always.1939-1984

  • My freind gave me the very best of marvin gaye album and i must say at my age of 18 marvin gaye has influenced me deeply physically and spirtually

  • I love these Marvin songs that weren't as popular and didn't get the radio rotation as much as others, but are just as effective or even more so.

  • we love you marvin R.I.P brother,

  • This I believe was originally a jazz tune by Donald Byrd, Marvin put his touches on it and made it seem brand new.

  • us humans are going nowhere...no future...marvin knew it he was just trying to warn us about our ways, other artist too...if u listne to there lyrics and not the song...or beat..

  • day in day out...where are we going?

  • @michaelaf2 where we going is simple nowhere..smh marvin was trying to warn us that there is no future...

  • This song makes me feel like the future is going to seem bright because of his sweet voice :)

  • This Was a bad ass singer old school marvin gaye r.i.p

  • Let the truth be told, Marvin was a visionary of today with this song. Seeing as how we are still trying to find out where we are going, even with an African American President. This country still can't seem to stop young African American men from murdering each other by the thousands. Hunger and poverty is still at its best. But one thing is for sure we got some things right over the years. What if we try and get it right before we self-destruct, there is no other way to do it. Thanks

  • Good analogy. Us Hispanics are not to far behind ourselves but hopefully we can find the common denominator ! Happy holidays chico. Keep the faith kid

  • That's because we will never know where we are going. There is no set 'place' or state-of-being that we will ever reach. It's always emerging and changing.

    Wonderful track! :)

  • @Mindadjust With all philosophy sounding talk, why do you say "this country still can't seem to stop young african american men from murdering... by the thousands." I would agree strongly if you just talked about the issues Marvin is singing about, poverty, hunger and a lack of progression. But with what I quoted, "lies and hate, yet they fuel the fire."

  • @NY1love Growing up in Philly was there a struggle for the brothers and sisters, sure it was. Many like my brother Marvin spoke the words then, now that we are here are we satisfied with the outcome. Sure Rev. King and others of us took hold of the dream. Sure lies and hate have fuel many of fires. But have the lies stopped. Are we together as a nation? A lie sent people like myself to a war that should not have been, young brother are murdering each other everyday and for what? I ask you?

  • @NY1love Marvin ask the question "where are we going" I would love to rap with you maybe you have an answer. I work in the Juvenile Justice system and I also mentor and challenge many young people each day to take life serious, it only comes around one time on this earth. You are right the lies don't care anything of a young man/woman with a future ahead of them being stamped out. Hate don't care if a young brother hates another brother because of the colors he's wearing. You are right! PRAYER

  • @Mindadjust All I can say to this is "AMEN" you said it all.

  • @Mindadjust I think it's up to the young African American men to stop murdering each other by the thousands, not the country.

  • @Natejitsu they are american just like you and I. See that's the problem with america, we look at different cultures and ethnicities as each having their own issues to deal with just in their own communities, but in retrospect at the end of the day young black men killing eachother will still have some type of effect on the rest of Americans in some way shape or form, you dig where I'm comin from? So it is up to all Americans to contribute something to defeat this mindset.

  • @Detrae89 I get where you're coming from, and I agree, but there still needs to be some responsibility taken by the perpetrators, black, white, whatever.

  • @Mindadjust What da fukk are you talking bout that is the reason why the world is fukked up, its fukkin white ppl in the goverement and just white ppl in general calll me racist but fukk it white ppl are the racist rudest most unapreciated ppl ever! "thanks"

  • @Mindadjust maybe because our african american president sucks

  • I love Marvin Gaye, he inspired me when i listened to his greatest hits whilst i was painting with my uncle Ged, i loved those 2 or 3 weeks....Marvelous...We both enjoyed his soulful sounds and laughed....Thank You Soul of Marvin Gaye....LoL God is Love

  • Marvin Gaye = God of Soul

  • Love you Marvin. XX Your music is spiritual.

  • whatever the Mizell Brothers touched in that prolific period in the 70's turned to Gold, here's more proof. Amazing!!

  • i couldn't agree more. excellent comment.

  • They need to play this on radio today instead of all this bullshit being played.

Thank God For True Artist Such As Marvin Gaye Who Always Kept It Real In His Music....

    R.I.P. Marvin Gaye

  • For real brother

  • @kingbmore73 Damn...you really like capitals. Anyway, I feel you. Marvin was once in an eternity.
