It's not really that much faster than a standard one from a garage that hasn't been butchered. I would prefer a standard one as a lot of boy racers are gullible and conned by sales people telling them to buy parts for their cars when they decrease performance. You need to learn about engines, save for a better car if you want a faster one!

10.3 is faster than 11 and 3.8 is wayyy faster than 5.

I chose to attend a specialized college that actually teaches more about the recording arts and live sound in 11 months than most prestigious music colleges teach in 4. I did, however, get a 2250 on the PSAT when I took it, so I would've had no problems with the actual SAT. Like i've said multiple times, you know absolutely nothing about me.

@TheBulldawg4life thats most likely a base tune. The cobb accessport lets you tune your engine, my friends evo for 2k went from about 250whp to 350whp on the stock turbo. His car can run 11.9. Please stop talking about tuning you dont know anything
@TheBulldawg4life obviously it has supporting mods such as exhaust intake MBC etc. It was on the stock intercooler and IC pipes as well. the evo 9 has VVT and the 20g turbo vs the 16g so it can pull out some more power. evo 8s usualyl only get to 340whp. i mean you dont have to believe me its fine Ive personally seen the dyno sheet.

@thebulldawg4life. I like the camaro but they are NOT faster than an sti. An sti stock runs 0-60 in 4.7 and you can stage 1 it for 600.00 and run a 4.0. The camaro is NOT that quick. It runs a 4.8 stock and that is the ss model. They are a hell of alot more expensive to mod. All muscle car fans think the the biggest motor is the best. The rx-7 proved that wrong as well as sti.
@Sittinsolid1993 I've already addressed 0-60. Of COURSE an AWD car gets to 60 faster, but past 60 the Camaro SS finally gets to stretch its legs and runs past. The STI's are low to mid 13's stock, the Camaro is mid-high 12's to very low 13's stock. My Camaro is also a JOKE to mod. I could get about 80 RWHP (up to about 450ish to the wheels) for about $2500, and that includes a cam and tune.

@numba1netsfan I've seen many non professional drivers get 12's stock..ANY car can be tuned and built to run 11.7..heck Camaro's are hitting 11.7 with headers, cold air intake, a tune and drag radials. Heck leave the tires and home and you're looking at a 12.2 with 3 mods.

Given the SS has over 100 hp more than the STI I'd say Suby holds their own pretty well beating it 0-60. There are 3 people at my place of employment that own an SS and only 1 that has an STI. This is all comparing apples to tomatos IMO.

@JttM199 No, it's a street car. We've both got 6 speeds, and his gear ratio is barely taller than mine. It's depressing how early he has to shift, seeing as how Mustangs with 3.73's (taller than his) aren't shifting into 4th that early.
In 2009 when I bought my Camaro, Ford offered a V8 Mustang with the same HP as a V6 Camaro..the Challenger was over-priced and under performing, and I got arguably the best 30k car available.

@marcan300 learn English, and counting. You're boosting 10 PSI over stock, and have a 4.44 gear ratio, and AWD. Run more than 1/8th of a mile and that SRT-8 or my SS, or a 5.0 will walk away no matter how much boost you push, and how great your AWD (idiot) launch is. my 3,800 lb car has nearly twice the HP and well more than twice the torque of an STI..anything other than a 0-60 race the Camaro SS has proven time and time again to be faster. Let me put mods on my Camaro and i'll laugh away.

It all started before elementary school, you didn't attend Montessori but your mom didn't like looking at you all day so you ended up at some Kids 'R 'Kids place. You then attended a generic public elementary school where you learned how to read, write, and count. I chose to attend a specialized college that actually teaches more about the recording arts and live sound in 11 months than most prestigious music colleges teach in 4. I did, however, get a 2250 on the PSAT when I took it, so I would've had no problems with the actual SAT. Like i've said multiple times, you know absolutely nothing about me.

@thebulldawg4life. I like the camaro but they are NOT faster than an sti. An sti stock runs 0-60 in 4.7 and you can stage 1 it for 600.00 and run a 4.0. The camaro is NOT that quick. It runs a 4.8 stock and that is the ss model. They are a hell of alot more expensive to mod. All muscle car fans think the the biggest motor is the best. The rx-7 proved that wrong as well as sti.

@Sittinsolid1993 I've already addressed 0-60. Of COURSE an AWD car gets to 60 faster, but past 60 the Camaro SS finally gets to stretch its legs and runs past. The STI's are low to mid 13's stock, the Camaro is mid-high 12's to very low 13's stock. My Camaro is also a JOKE to mod. I could get about 80 RWHP (up to about 450ish to the wheels) for about $2500, and that includes a cam and tune.

The STI wasn't built for top end so it's a wonder he's shifting into 4th @75. It's a rally car, not a dragger. Given the SS has over 100 hp more than the STI I'd say Suby holds their own pretty well beating it 0-60. There are 3 people at my place of employment that own an SS and only 1 that has an STI. This is all comparing apples to tomatos IMO.

@JttM199 No, it's a street car. We've both got 6 speeds, and his gear ratio is barely taller than mine. It's depressing how early he has to shift, seeing as how Mustangs with 3.73's (taller than his) aren't shifting into 4th that early.
In 2009 when I bought my Camaro, Ford offered a V8 Mustang with the same HP as a V6 Camaro..the Challenger was over-priced and under performing, and I got arguably the best 30k car available.

@JttM199 Ya..if I was buying the 2012 model, I'd still get a Camaro. I'm a Chevy guy..so I'll buy the Camaro even if the Mustang is better. As it is though I've had good luck with the new 5.0's..they're quick no doubt, but it's a drivers race and I'm pretty good with my car. I also have a few years with it so I know how it reacts better than the guys who have only had the 5.0 for a few months.

americain car cant beat japness cars i got a 06 wrx sti whit a 5 gear trans oem vf39 i boost arroud 24 psi and a srt-8 stay in my mirror so u camaro suck vs awd and mustang have no trackting and weight like over 4500lbs

@marcan300 learn English, and counting. You're boosting 10 PSI over stock, and have a 4.44 gear ratio, and AWD. Run more than 1/8th of a mile and that SRT-8 or my SS, or a 5.0 will walk away no matter how much boost you push, and how great your AWD (idiot) launch is. my 3,800 lb car has nearly twice the HP and well more than twice the torque of an STI..anything other than a 0-60 race the Camaro SS has proven time and time again to be faster. Let me put mods on my Camaro and i'll laugh away.

@Turb0Tuner as this STI sits now, no it can't..let me get forced induction, full exhaust, and meth (to go mod for mod) and you'd better believe I'd run 11's (stock tires) all day long. Some DR's (since I don't have idiot launch system aka AWD) and I'd run 10's every time.

@SuperBanksy1 Why do people bother bringing up displacement? Do you know how many liters of displacement the turbo is? If not...then don't bother talking displacement.
That being said, all these mods on a Camaro SS (like mine) would be running low 10's...to beat this Subbie I'd need CAI, full exhaust, a tune, and some DR's...that would keep my total cost lower than that of an STI, and would make me faster than an STI.
I like STI's, and wouldn't mind owning one..but it's not that fast.

@TheBulldawg4life People bring it up because that increases the amount of fuel that can be used. The displacement is a lot larger than an sti. Considering that your car has a higher displacement means that less mods are needed to make more power. When a camaro can do anything other than go in a straight line, get back to me. STI's are good at everything, american muscle isnt.

@SuperBanksy1 2010 Camaro SS runs faster at the 'Ring than even the 2005 STI (which is the best STI), and faster than the 2010 STI at VIR, and has better braking numbers and better figure 8 numbers...You Subbie fanboys just can't accept that an American car for the same money could be better...what a shame

@Z0mbeSlayer perhaps you're the dumb fanboy. My Camaro SS pulls .92 (average) on a g pad while the STI pulls .93. Figure 8 in 25.2 at .73 g's against the STI 25.5 at .73 g's. Braking for the Camaro is 108 feet against the STI 113 feet.

@Z0mbeSlayer proven to run a slower time than a Camaro SS...I'm so impressed. Only two STI's have gone faster than a Camaro SS at the 'Ring, 1 is a Japan only Spec C, the other is a prototype. AWD is the only advantage the STI has over the SS, and it's hardly an advantage when I have 100+ hp and torque advantage to the wheels.

People have also been known to remove weight and cut corners in other areas to get faster times with a "stock" car.
