I took quite a lot of the low end eq. Otherwise it sounds too muddy with the wah in the solo. I used a slight bit of reverb. Its quite heavily compressed to make it sound more synth like

I do the verse from the official book first. (the one you do in your video). Thats not what Matt actually plays though. Listen carefully to the studio version and you will see that here are 2 guitars playing. and I and playing around with those parts in the other verses (to make it more varied and fun to play). When Matt plays it live he doesnt play the verse from the official book. He plays something similar to what I play in the 2nd verse.

I wouldnt put all your faith in the official books. I have all of them and there are quite a few mistakes. Muse themselves didnt tab them.

yeah. I used to play it the way you play in the second round of the verse. but in the begining you're only supposed to be using the third and fifth strings and you use the 4th string also(though it sounds good too, I'm kind of a perfectionist... lol).

i am only using the 3rd and fifth string in the second part of the verse. When I do octaves low down my middle finger curls over and it looks like im pressing down on another string. I can see how it looked like I was playing some weird chord lol. Im a bit of a Muse maniac so I mix up their live and studio stuff into my playing. Have you seen the Earls Court Stockholm Syndrome. The wah effect he has on the intro is amazing!
