  • I'm just going to say it... "It can't be bargained with! It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pitty, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop - ever - until you are DEAD!"

First thing I thought was: "Oh my God, it's a Hunter-Killer from Terminator. Time to start building my bunker. Where did I put John Connor's cell number?"

  • thats a big toy

  • wouldnt the enemy shoot the obvious cameras in the front?

  • It is a Goliath from homefront ;)

  • looks like a wartog..

  • @Mastertim2006 you are wrong

  • That was my car you @@@hole...

  • This is total crap. I mean is big as a tank and only sports a bugswatter? WTF!?

  • @bobafetthotmail

Tanks weight 72 tons with a full combat load, this is 6 tons and does not place the user in harms way.

  • @quicksilver1640 My point was that has a tiny gun for its size. It can easily carry something better than that. I understand that the gun on it is mostly an afterthought because it is a prototype, but I'm sure they can do better.

  • pretty good mobility with the crappy tread on those tires.

i would like to see run flats with a super swamper bogger trad pattern.

  • imagine thet you are on the highway and then this comes towards you at full speed what would you do?

  • stay on my side of the road ;)

  • but it really wants to run you over

  • I didn't know how big it was untill it ran through those two cars

  • I like how they mounted that .50 cal M2 on it

  • wut ugv stand for

  • UGV = Unmanned Ground Vehicle.

  • haha a "little" sloppy

  • why do they have to go to all the trouble of building a new vehicle when they could just put some cameras and weapons on a tank and call it a day?

  • because the patent for the tank is already owned

  • I'm pretty sure the flexible chassis is an important design feature for this vehicle

  • Because tanks already have cameras and weapons

  • I think the ripsaw looks more durable, but this one looks more "all-terrain"-ish.

  • I think the rip could probly do all kinds of terrain this thing cant but I am a fan of Crusher also

  • Terrorists: Yeah, were pretty much fucked

  • was MEANT to crush the cars? ;)

  • EPIC

  • Wow, wasn't just last year or two years ago that a group won the DARPA automated vehicle competition. So much progression such a short time.

  • i was thinking just like everyone else commenting lol, its skynet in the making!

  • Gawd help us if Skynet gets its hands on these things.

  • LOl thats why I love the ripsaw, good old RC vehicles.

  • ... anyone seen "Terminator"? We SHOULD FEAR this...

  • I for one welcome our robotic overlords!

  • OMG IT WAS IN A MOVIE SO IT WILL HAPIN

  • if they can mass produce this things, it doesnt matter how many are destroyed when there are thousands waiting for deployment. A disposable soldier. If life is really valuable, and the deaths of soldiers is one of the price of victory, and declaring war is justifying how many lives it will cost, then with autonomous fighters War has truly become cheap.

  • but then wars wouldn't be a problem and they'ed be EVERYWHERE!!!

  • lol..... robots fighting robots. then wars will just be like a robotic competition. may be all the "soldiers" of a country could fight a war from the comfort of their homes with a XBOX 360 game controller.

  • when that day comes, im joinin the army :)

  • this baby can thk for itself juz like the "BOSS", awesome

  • holy crap... in the first shot i thought that thing was the size of a quad or something... but it's huge! and pretty cool

  • DARPA: Breaking Asimov's laws just to spite him and endanger all of us

  • Who cares about Asimov's laws if we can all get a personal robot to go to work for us and make all the important decisions for us!

  • ...and of course like in this video, get drafted for war instead of us!

  • Wow, at first i thought it was small

  • Though it's actually a hybrid robot it can either drive to a point it's been commanded to or driven manually via radio link or satellite link.

It's also a hybrid vehicle is diesel electric.

But I do I hope they never allow the AI to operate the gun as that would be bad on a variety of levels.

I also wonder if the basic design could also make a very good moon rover I mean changed to be able to operate in a hard vacuum.

  • iron monster

  • the animal....the animal....nothing can stop, the animal!

  • AMAZING!... but just one question...

Was it supposed to hit the cars?

Or was it supposed to stop before impact?

This thing would be great during rush-hour.

  • A eletric fricen tank that crashes into cars holy shit what the hells next a floating magman

  • Holy shit, how big is that thing? lol..

The first few seconds it looked like it was a 1-person project until it ran over 2 cars..

  • WORLDCITIZEN is right about this. People should stop keyboard-commanding and get out there and actually achieve something.

  • to jest zajebiste. tylko zmienic kolor i walnąć alusy:)

  • Who knows it better? Us, here sitting on youtube or the guys who are working on it? You are sitting there and giving instructions how to make, what to make and what not to make? Funny guys! Why did not they hire you then?

  • Every robot's attitude is "I do not give a shit!" :) cool!

  • damn morons that think something is delicate cause it blows up with IED attack.... IDIOT get your facts strait! IED can punch a hole thru an american APC or even an abrahms ! three words : HOT LIQUID COPPER!!!

  • i have only two letters: DU! (Depleted Uranium) wikipedia if you dont know what that is .. ONE bullet half a inch long.. BOOM! tank gone motherfucker ;)

  • lolz

  • HEAT, APFSDS, AT mines, etc. There are many things out there that can destroy a tank but a bullet will not do anything to a tank, even armor piercing rounds will only scratch the armor of most tanks. You really need explosives or an inertia penetrator from another tank to do the trick. Half an inch long? You just described some sort of DU pistol round.

  • Best thing to kill a tank with actually is an aircraft.

The guns on some fighter planes and many gunships esp the A10 can destroy a tank.

Though to take this out why not just hit it with a paint bomb and blind the laser scanners and cameras?

Though in theory it could use sonar and radar as a back up.

  • dude ur wrong. ieds cant punch a hole thru apcs and abrams tanks, unless it was a very, very large one. newer humvees have been known to survive ied explosions. hb U get ur facts strait

  • Depends what was used to make the IED is is just some blocks of C4 or was an armor piercing shell used to make it.

Also depends how smart the IED design is if it's set up like a shape charge it's far more dangerous then a random pile of explosives.

The real purpose of this is to die instead of the manned vehicles in an IED or RPG attack giving the convoy warning.

  • Look up "krakatoa"

  • krakatoa is not an I.E.D. (which stands for improvised explsovie device) I.E.D.s take the form of unexploded mortor rounds and other convential explosives used in a manner that is outside its usual functionality, such as rigging a mortor round to explode wen a dead body is moved. if you are going to try and proov someone wrong please know wat you are tlking about first

  • The hell was that?

    IMPROVISED, IMPROVISED, Improvised!!!!!!

I can improvise a convex copper plate with some remaining explosives any day!

    IMPROVISED!

Im·pro·vised; im·pro·vis·ing \ˈim-prə-ˌvīz also ˌim-prə-ˈ\ to make or fabricate out of what is conveniently on hand

  • im sorry dude my bad i forgot how "on-hand" convex copper plating was in the middle east sry dude. im also so sorry for forgeting they have a large supple of moldable plastic explosive and a tight steel tubes to direct the explosion. im sorry for my utter ignorance please forgive me

  • Actually it is your utter ignorance (keep reading)

In the middle east copper can be found in Pots, Pans, Kettles, Pipes, Bathtubs etc

Anyone with a chemistry set can make TNT, or steal it, or buy it. Where do you think they get the explosives for the suicide bombers?

In the middle east PLASTIC tubes can be found practically anywhere

Just drop it, its easy to kill a tank with a little know-how, just because the retard terrorist haven't thought of it....

  • that must be why we lose so many tanks there. again i apologiz for my ignorance.i didint realize how easy it was! it explains the massive loss of tanks and apcs in the middle east. thanks for enlighting me

  • Well i didn't say the terrorists were smart enough to figure it out

  • are you saying they are dumb? the can rig mortars to explod under dead bodys and can can rig car bombs rather efectivly. a "dumb" person would not be capable of that. and krakatoa is hardly a hidin technology. if iran can begin to build nuclear weapons (which is far more complicated) then m sure a few terorists would be able to learn about this technology and use it. its merely not FEASABLE in the fact that the materials and ability to build it are far exeeding wat the terorists have access to

  • Actually a retard would be capable of that. i doubt they are even aware of the technology

building nukes is easy, i can design one with my eyes closed, the only thing thats hard to get is weapons grade uranium (and every country with a nuclear plant has that)

again, its a plastic cylinder with a bent metal plate and some explosives (pretty sure i can build it). again, it CAN be easily built in developing countries with the materials and resources they have, but they lack the knowledge

  • @tonyrosam Welcome to the internets. =)

  • Oups, that was my car ! Grrrr !

  • yeah these are cool but the problem is certain parts of it are realy delicate also check around youtube they have things like this getting blown to bits by IEDs i like the concept though like that thing deliver a bunch of smller ones "troops" if you will that all interact with one another and humans i dont think humans will ever be removed because computers will never match the actual human brain

  • youd like to think so

  • You ought to get a reality check, an IED is a freaking bomb, often made with high explosives, some would have no trouble obliterating a tank or transport. This thing also has a scare factor that will just terrify anyone it comes across.

Computers decide faster than humans, and don't judge.

  • Dude, are you kidding? If you are so smart and intelligent why don't you go and tell the engineers, scientists, researchers, and all the people who are involved in the development? I bet they will hire you right away!

  • It Just Owned those cars like they were nothing lol!

  • I was saying this years ago. They should've sent 100,000 of these into Iraq and Afghanistan.

Zero Allied Casualities! (and likely a lot less Iraqi/Afghan casualities too)

Unmanned Combat Vehicles are the obvious way forward in warfare.

  • war would be like a video game

  • This is ow Terminator Started...

  • Why isn't there a couple of those in front of every convoy? I wish that would take the IEDs instead of human life.

  • all it would take is for the terrorist at the controls of the IED to blow it after that vehicle passes by.

  • a couple of millon dollar toy, thats 4 sure ;)

  • couple of million dollor toys that can... you know.... kill a man... hehe

  • Haha lol. TOYS!!!

  • sweet video

  • great gadget.

  • Go America, make toys )))

  • @banik812 you won't say that after you got shot by it, you would say "GOD DAMNIT GUYS I'VE JUST GOT HIT BY A ROBOT, A FUCKIN ARMED ROBOT!!"

    have a nice day mothafucka

  • Awesome,Watch out AlQaeda!

  • lol
