Dude at 0:15 needs finger discipline, most SF groups use modern isosceles grips, these guys use 60/40 grips. They don't lean into the gun like their body naturally does under stress. Plus the bullet drop compensation their talking about is something most people can't do under dynamic stress because their stress overwhelms the fundamental parts of their minds. This is like 1980 Basic Training.

@isashiwm I was trained by the best people in hyper violent firearms manipulations. Shooting people in combat is still less than 1% of the SAS job duties on a daily basis. That 1% is something that people cannot screw-up at. Most of the time when people get shot at they get tunnel vision, degraded hand-eye coordination, hyper extended movement, and an overwhelmed mind. This video does not show the best techniques to mitigate recoil and what real operators in combat due under that dynamic stress.

As a member of a SPECOPS group with close links to the SAS, I'd like to endorse what Cumguzzlar is saying here. Since I have many years experience within the SRS, I feel I am qualified to say that although the men shown in this video are not displaying the correct "gangsta" style, they certainly would if the were on OPS in the field, I'd bet a first class sleeper to Glasgow on it! That smoke is a result of the explosion from the brass. When that powder ignites, it has one way to go: forward. Obviously, the explosion does not last throughout the entire barrel, but those gasses do. And then some. By the way this was in no disrespect to the SAS they are amazing people and I have nothing against them. Just proving something.

Typically weapons of choice for most incursion units are either a standard fully automatic assault rifle with semi-auto capabilities, or a Sub-Machinegun type weapon such as an MP5K or UMP as these platforms are the most controllable and effective for their mission types, an M2 is a "machine gun" an M60, M249 are..but not an mp5

They agree to obey all laws when used in a police capacity-but no one really expects them to-and no one could really do anything about it.

The only reason the SAS were used in northern Ireland is that emergency powers were initiated due to conflict. The role of the SAS in northern Ireland was not one of Policing and partition like other troops, it was to carry out surveillance and act on 'hot' intelligence.

Some of their guys got killed; they were badly outnumbered, but they killed a lot of the enemy force and drove off the rest.

The gasses from the explosion behind the bullet push the bullet even harder from the barrel of the weapon for a good 1 or 1 and a half feet. @TheGunner1324 Nope. If you watch a gun from the side while being fired, you'll notice some things leaving the barrel. The projectile, and some smoke. That smoke is a result of the explosion from the brass. When that powder ignites, it has one way to go: forward. Obviously, the explosion does not last throughout the entire barrel, but those gasses do. And then some. By the way this was in no disrespect to the SAS they are amazing people and I have nothing against them. Just proving something.

There is a force behind the bullet with nowhere to go but forward. and on pistols, barrels tend to be quite short. so especially in a snub nose revolver, this is the case. It gains absolutely no momentum after leaving the barrel, none. The minute that gas has anywhere to go the pressure (and thus its effect on the bullet) starts dropping immediately. Just a friendly tip, don't correct people about things your don't know about since you just end up looking silly.

@faffaflunkie Thanks..I'm well aware of what the SAS is and what they do, doesn't change the fact that the term "Machine Gun" is incorrectly applied as most special forces units do NOT use them due to their lack of precision and large size. they give an LMG or two to standard infantry units for support fire but in a tactical situation they fail miserably. Don't try to talk down to me when you know NOTHING about what you're spewing. No SpecOps force uses anything bigger than an AR as a primary.

The SAS are not used domestically for Policing matters.

This would qualify as "domestic" use of a military regiment, as well as putting down a domestic prison riot and the London hostage rescue. They also are used domestically as V.I.P. bodyguards. They agree to obey all laws when used in a police capacity-but no one really expects them to-and no one could really do anything about it.

Wrong you retard i did 3 tours of Northern Ireland! The SAS do not provide VIP bodyguards, this role is provided by the RMP who also guard diplomats. The SAS can only be called in with the express permission of the Home secretary and Chief Constable of the Police force it concerns.
They do not agree to obey all laws, they are given rules of engagement, Police officers are not given rules of engagement and must act in accordance with Sec 117 Pace, S.3 CL act, ECHR, and common law.
