@hamiltonjsh Oscar Is Canada's great gift. It was a while before I learned of his nationality, then I tried to make him american! To me, there was NO way he could not be! I'm so sick of celine any ways!
@hamiltonjsh sorry celine??? GLENN GOULD AND OSCAR PETERSON 2 greatest piano players, first is the greatest in Classics, second is the greatest in Jazz
This interview is fantastic. I've watched it several times and just wish there was some way to own this on dvd. There are other marvelous clips on youtube of Oscar, many with BBC in the corner of the screen. Does anyone know where to purchase these treasures?
Body and Soul in Dflat. Freakishly big hands, with great flexibiltiy and a great ear all in one person. Music is a vast and complex discipline. We all have some weaknesses and some strengths. Previn may not be the jazz pianist of Peterson's caliber but no doubt he has writing skills that Peterson does not.
My highest regards to Previn. He is a VERY talented musician himself. But in this interview, he shows so much humility and has a wonderful appreciation towards Oscar. Previn is obviously a musician who hasn't gotten tangled up in his own ego.
Few people know that in the 50's Andre had the biggest selling jazz album with "My Fair Lady " ( SHELLY MANNE AND HIS FRIENDS). It was the top album for TWO YEARS !!!
I am looking for footage on Andre Ellington. He is a running back from Moncks Corner, South Carolina who will be playing football for the Clemson Tigers this fall.
Thanks SO much for posting these AMAZING vidoes. They are sublime! Could you possibly tell me where I could obtain the full copy (DVD or VHS) for myself please?
Thanks for adding this set of videos, they were here sometime ago but they had it removed somehow. Shame that it is out of sync, but that's not a major problem.
how do you learn to play like that!?

Why is the nationality so important? The Jazz music given by Oscar is the greatest gift to the world. And Oscar was a great Canadian musician.
