You have to buy a gameshark to download a special gametype for Halo 2, that essentialy removes the HUD and spawns you with no weapons. From there, I would act as the camera while still being a game character in the world...it was alot harder cause not only did the actors have to preform, but so did my camera work in sync with the actors.

Go watch Red vs Blue, they're way better at this, and have done it for alot longer.

Technicly it was one week. At the time I was in middle school and my parents wouldnt let me play xbox on weekdays, so I only had friday afternoon, saturday and sunday to recruit actors and record. Not only that, but most of the time the actors were freinds of freinds, strangers, often 11 year olds, who had no experience in machinima acting, trying to preform precise coreography...you can imagine how that worked out.

You need a Capture Card, they run anywhere between 30-70 bucks...and unless you can get it for a christmas gift, no, there is no program you can simply download, you have to spend money on it...however in Halo 3, at some point in the future, users of Bungie Pro will be able to send their saved films directly to their computer...but of cource you need an xboxlive account, and bungie pro, so be prepared to pay some cash if you want to make machinima.

Nearly all of my actors are just players from off of xboxlive, and this particular player didnt understand that moving arround during filming like that dosnt look good, but I guess he wanted to make absolutly sure that his legs were properly lined up.

The close up was because of an in-game option that allows the player to zoom in with or without any weapon...as for the "shaky camera" it was probably because the camera man is one of the players and for some of the action shots i am running with the actors giving it that shake effect...unless you mean something else.

Actualy, the reason why this took 5 weeks is the lack of cooperation. If you go to our website and watch the bloopers, you'll find that I had to do the Spartan line-up many many times...in fact, the bloopers would be twice as long if I put in every take I had to do.
