  • Long live the greatest CPU of all time...

  • thumbs up if youre stil using q6600!!!

  • @bober9989 gonna get it this friday :D :D :D

  • These are fricking amazing had it for about 2 years plays fear 3 max settings!

  • Q6600 2.4GHz @ 3.6GHz aircooled. No plans to upgrade just yet ;)

And I'm running this on an equally ancient Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R motherboard with 8GB DDR3, despite the P35 chipset officially not supporting that much with just 2 slots LOL

This combo has been the most stable system I've ever had.. nothing ever messed up, got glitchy or anything..

  • @vistakid10 I have one of these in my PC!

  • q6600 3,40/3,60 ghz and gtx570

  • Now laptop i7's smoke this thing god time flies fast :(

  • hey guys... i have a lga776 socket motherboard which can support core2duo(i have 2.40GH) and core 2quads... i have 8800gt card and want to update to gtx 460 or 480.. i don't want to buy new motherboard for i3 or i5.. so.. will it be worth getting this q6600 or should i get q9550, q9400 @2.8GH... OR should i change my motherboard to to get a i5? then it all becomes too costly.. i see core2quads give better benchmarks then some i3s and 5s. PLEASE help and ANSWER me..

  • @shasashu

I have had this running now for a while stable at 3.40GHz with no heat issues im well impressed with it im getting 70-100 FPS in BF2 BC on high and its as smooth as silk a credit to intel on this CPU.

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    ASUS P5Q

Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro CPU Cooler

  • @abatsekki jes you can

  • Still using this thing with my gtx 580 lol

  • I just bought 3 desktops with Q6600's for $50 each!

  • @WizardsMagic007...... where did U buy it?

  • @soodeey1

Some business was upgrading their computers so they sold the old ones for $50.

  • lier

  • i have this one now, i want to upgrade my vga which is now gt9600 to GTX560

i heard about botleneck, so would this q6600 really can handle newest vga's?

  • @1Seall7 Anything up to about the 570 will be fine with this if you OC it wo about 3-3.4GHz.

  • i have this... and my GTX 560 can handle it!

  • @gunnery18 My 560 Ti handle this easily on my q6600 3.2ghz

  • does anyone know a mobo with this cpu :D

im a pc gamer for only a couple of months

  • Hi!. I have got Q6600 (2,4ghz), 6GB RAM and Gigabyte GA-p35-ds3l. I want change my graphics (now- 8800gt) for GTX 480. Can i do it? will my computer work? I want to play Red Orchestra 2 and Battlefield 3.

  • He's talking so fast.. LOL

  • it will overclock to 3.6ghz no problem

  • this might be a stupied question but is this CPU better than the newer Core i3? or maybe i5?

  • @xblalex Older.

    Pentium 4 > Core Duo > Core quad > i3 > i5 > i7

  • @PirateKing1256 thanks :) gona get AMD phenom 1090T :) instead

  • @PirateKing1256 I'm not sure about i3 here.

  • LOL some guy in the internet told me he would give me this processor for free coz he is upgrading LMFAO i cant believe my luck

  • uhu you need a quad core im have a e8500 an can also run all games of this time :P

  • overclocking is kinda dangerous i have one and i tell you i realy dont wana overclock my PCU is good as is it i strngly recomend this CPU enjoy it :)

  • why is my q6600 only clocking 1.5ghz on my abit ib9 mobo?>? And running at about 70 wtf?? did i fuck up the install?

  • so this was 2? Then 3? Then 5 Then i7?

  • @ht448 no it went C2D, i7 then i5 then i3. i don't know in which order i5 or i3 came out but i know i7 came out first,

  • i have that and it run perfect he is not liing!!

  • is it better than q8400?

  • @Zolega89 they are pretty much the same! unless u overclock

  • @Zolega89 this is way better, best overclock able quad core in the Q series :)

  • still using a q6600 with a hd5870 4 gb of ram can play any game i throw at it

  • @mikeyLOLOL will it run bf3? or does it run bfbc2?

  • @hugacho70 yes this cpu can run ANY game at maximum!!

  • @camargo2012

Would it be worth $50 still? I know a guy who's selling complete desktops for $50 with a q6600 2.4ghz, 8gb of ram, 250gb hard drive, and a Geforce 8500GT. Thinking about buying all 12 from him.

  • @WizardsMagic007 you should, BUT make sure u can overclock those q6600...lolol you are lucky, i had to buy my q6600 for $100 lolol

  • @hugacho70 i run bfc2 at about 50 to 80 fps dont no about bf3 lol its not out

  • This CPU is still very powerful. Of course compared to the new i5/i7 processors it would be slower, but everything gets replaced by something better in the future :)

  • 2500k beats the shit out of this

  • @joshodst that is, if you want to spend $800 for just the processor and a motherboard.

  • @joshodst

Yeah, but the 2500K is 2 generations newer :) Can't compare technologies like that.

  • @joshodst you talking about i5 rite?

  • @deepakjindal070 point is,this is out of date xD

  • Lie! i get very bad performance!

  • @desmond1300

The overal PC performance does not depend only on the CPU. I have mine overclocked to 3.60 and it's one hell ofa beast! I'm not replacing it until Ivi Bridge :)

  • Is this still good? cuz this was posted in 2007

  • @MrSillieWe dude, you can O/C it to like 3.8 ghz if you want.. this is STILL a beast... IF you overclock it.

  • @MrSillieWe

    Yes. It's a beast :P

  • w0000t i LOVE it

  • Would i be able to replace my e5700 with this?

  • @240sxser depends on your motherboard...

  • how much it is right now i wanna by that to my lga775

  • Does the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 support DDR3 1333Mhz RAM?

  • Does the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 support DDR3 133Mhz RAM?

  • Still using mine at 3.4ghz, I have no intention of replacing it till Ivy Bridge comes out.

  • this processor is for gaming?

  • @adir907 I think so

  • I stop coming to Tigerdirect about 2 years ago. This site blows. First Logan left, so all the cool reviews for video cards/hardware are gone. Sam came onto the scene, she was cool, but she left. And than Tigerdirect for some unknown reason " DISABLE COMMENTS FOR ALL THEIR VIDEOS ". Where is the freedom Of Speech? Why would you disable comments for a Public Video?

All around failed, i am never subbing to TD or 3DGameman, they both suck.

Thumbs up if you agree ")

  • im proud of my q8400 xD 3,2GHz

  • @marfg12345 did you know that the CORE 2 QUAD family remains far more popular than core i5 and i7?? WOW

  • @simranjeet36 yeah, know i have amd Phenom II x4 4,0GHz 965 black edition 8mb cache

    pwns all quad cores

  • @simranjeet36 Cause theyre that ownage

  • My Q6600 oced @ 3.6 ghz is still kicking ass in every game/app. It's a monster <3

  • @cvtmih how to do you overclock it? and does overclocking it increase fps in games?

  • @eiroight Yes it does significantly. Overclocking depends on your motherboard, RAM and power supply also, not the CPU itself only. I can help you overclock it PM me.

  • @cvtmih thanks for the reply, if i need some help ill pm you

  • I have an Intel Core i5-650. Is this better or worse or similar to the Q6600?

  • i3 , i5 , i7 are all unnecessary.

All you need is just 'Quad core 4 thread'. Will do.

Want it to go faster? Just overclock.

  • MSI Quad Core Gaming PC GeForce GTS 450 or this one ? ( New to pc and gonna get bf 3 )

  • running crysis 2 with the q6600. This thing is fkin fast. New games are not a problem for this monster and by the way its really cheap :)

  • @elchito86 did you overclock your ghz to make it run well? and if so, how do you do it?

  • @eiroight I cant overclock because i have a dell mainboard but new games like crysis 2 runs pretty well at stock ghz. You can look with cpu-z what mainboard you have and its important to have the latest bios version for your mainboard. Then look on google how to overclock. There are people overclocking the q6600 to more then 4 ghz. Its insane :)

  • @elchito86 oh well at least hearing from you that without having overclocked you are still running crysis 2 well makes me feel like my q6600 should be fine the way it is too. what graphics card are you using that you can run crysis 2 well? i have a 8800GT OC on mine and i have been able to play call of duty black ops and medal of honor 2010 on max with no issues, would crysis 2 handle different? i dont think it would run at max but good enough i hope.

  • @eiroight In Crysis 2 there are 3 graphic options (gamer--advanced--hardcore). I play it on advanced on my Evga Geforce GTS 250 (its the same chip like the gt9800 but the gts is a bit faster) and the graphics are awesome. So i think you should test which options are better for you but you will be good with your hardware. At least you have enough ddr ram too. 4gb are ok.

  • @elchito86 ok cool, thanks for the info

  • @eiroight No problem

  • I got Q6600 almost on launch day. And guess what. It's STILL KICKING ASS!

I run EVERYTHING on max settings.

  • @Ferox04 oh shit

  • Quad Core or Core 2 Quad??

  • does it support 32 bit PC's

  • @tino730

    Yup, sure does.

  • respected sir i want to know that asus p3w-dh deluxe motherboard supports intel quad core extreme qx9770 your guidence is required

  • 3.5 Years later, and there's only a handful games out there, most of them RTS games, that support 4 cores.

    FANTASTIC

  • i have it, so proud :) Intel <3

  • @berzerker11 it's old now, you should probably go ahead and get a new motherboard and an i7 xD

  • @wo0obly that comment i wrote was like 2 years ago.. It still kicks ass, there is no need to upgrade :P

  • @berzerker11 well... 5 months ago xD but yeah the intel core 2 quads are still kickass :D

  • @wo0obly dude i have a friend that oced this thing to 3.2ghz and it still does a fine job at these modern games

  • amd 955 ftw :)

  • i feel sooooooo proud for having one after watching this video : >

    <3q6600

  • damned fucking processor get i5 or i7 i have intel pentium 4

  • @TheHappybighead The i7 has hyperthreading but i5 not. In some cases it is beneficial but in others it can actually be harmful (theoretically 25% more speed at best). If you can, I would advise you to pick a fast i5 because for the same price the i5 will run faster than i7. Even if hyperthreading becomes useful (as I said, only in some cases), the overall increased speed increase of the i5 will be more predictable, meaning increased speed all the time (not some of the time like hyperthreading).

  • 2.40 GHz?????? I'VE SEEM BETTER!!!!! i mean...on my friends computer there is a CELERON and its 3.4GHz!! i mean WTF!?

  • @Jair254 fucking troll

  • @helgih580 hahaha ol nooo dude seriusly as i know Quad was the fastest processor existing...but i saw a celeron faster than quad? all i said is WTF!? dont call me troll dude

  • @Jair254 ok fair enough :)

  • @helgih580 lol thanks dude...you know who are fucking trolls? the guys saying *i7 its better, this is shit, damn fucking processor...*those guys are trolls LO anyways thank you for understanding my Wtf :D ;)

  • @Jair254

    1. This is a Quad core.

    2. It's way more overclockable.

    3. Ghz means very little.

  • @MrUberDeDuber lol GHZ means Gigahearts!

  • @paoloyu2296

    Yeah, so?

2.4ghz will not be very much worse than 3ghz.

  • Get an i7 .this is shit

  • @Manewalis obviously, look when it was made.

  • POWAH (deep bass noise) gotta love it.

According to passmark, my cpu is pretty much in the middle between a Q6700 and a Q8300... i have an athlon ii x4 640 (3.0ghz quad, no L3 cache) only cost me 90 bucks brand new because i got it from ebay, but it retails for like $99

not bad if you ask me.... plus it runs a lot cooler

  • Got this processor, using it in digital music production and now i can do what ever i want ...Great Processor

  • my Q6600 is still running perfectly after 4years OC @ 3.66Ghz with Corsair H50 @ 30C idle and 45C on load....

  • @warracer03 nice, those are some low temperatures. Are you using water cooling? Also, is that the G0 stepping?

  • @helgih580 No fancy stuff, a Corsair H50 that it (push/pull) and no, its not the G0 stepping it is a Dell Q6600

  • I wish that, even though he doesn't work for tiger anymore, that logon still did reviews like this.

  • Nothing is future-proof in IT

  • I am AMD user, and fan but this is very good CPU from intel, I liked the video :)

  • Damn. I may buy this processor to replace my Celeron D. However, I think I would have to replace my power supply, which is 230w. My PC is currently running with a GF 9500 GT, 3GB RAM, a 1TB HD, many gadgets and stuff, at 35°C, even when loaded, playing Crysis on Very High or GTA IV. What do you guys think? I would probably also need to change my case also.

  • what video cards would best fit for a Q6600? CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME A LIST OF VGA CARDS THAT WOULD WORK GOOD WITH A Q6600

  • watching tiger vids has never been the same since Logan left. Such a shame.

He was the only one who got me hyped up to buy products I never really needed. albert and the other shmo's just don't have that effect on me. Logan brought a lot of energy and sales to Tiger.

  • damn,i feel proud to have one at 3.20ghz : D

  • buying.

  • @camargo2012 good luck finding one they were discontinued like 1.5 years ago.

  • @ProjectRealityBf2 damn dude you are so outdated! what about ebay? lol

  • @camargo2012 Don't listen to Projectreality, hes kind of retarded... you can pick up the Core 2 Quad Q9550 for around $130 if your trying to build a gaming machine on a budget at Micro Center which overclocks to 4Ghz easily and gives you stellar performance of the far more expensive i7 chips. I do recommend against it since it limits your upgrade path in the future. Microcenter has i7 920/930's for $199 but the rest of the platform is far more expensive.

  • @illmagnified ill try to look at them on ebay :P

  • this a old 65nm low k lithacrefi im happy that the have 45nm

  • Do this Comes after Quadcore , or beforce Quad Core , cuz i wanna get it for BC 2

  • wow its logan

    good times

i remember almost crapping my pants because i got a QX6700 a week before the q6600 got released and i thought it was faster

it funny though in gaming the difference between a qx6700 and a i7-930 is just 1-4 fps im gona wait until 2012 until i get a new cpu maybe more

  • Haha I like this video cuz I have a Core i5-750 so it's like the next step of this one I guess. =]

  • The 31 dislikes are AMD fanboys

  • @wolfpackflt670 indeed cuz this is no competiton for amd

  • I love that.

  • dammit! my overclocked fails everytime

  • This is the best piece of hardware i've ever bought. Got mine in 2007 and overclocked it to 3.2 on day one and haven't changed it since. One of the best processor's ever made for it's price.

  • Q6600 or i7?

    Which is better?

  • @Aaron4444444 depends

    an OC'ed Q6600 is better then a stock speed Core I7 920

but overall the I7 are better

  • how can i overclock with my board intel dg31pr?

  • @jaspergabriel16 sounds like a OEM board

you cant OC on those they are locked you need to buy a new Motherboard

  • The 31 people that downed a video with logen in it are going to be punched in the face by logen himself.

  • excuse me people, i have a question, i have a Q6600 but seems like its kinda slow for me. wat should i do?

  • @jaspergabriel16 Did you OC it yet? It's stable overclocking ability is one of the selling points.

  • @jaspergabriel16 overclock it

u can OC it with the stock cooler at 3.0 GHz

if u want to go any higher i suggest to buy a better cooler

  • its cool... n fast also... if u do ratin test in win 7... processes in one second.. it shows 7.1 out of 7.9 ... now wat do u say...

  • GET A FUCKING Q9505 !!!!

  • AMD IS BETTER!!!

  • AMD Phenom II x4 940 @ 3.00 GHz is wayy better.

  • YOU SHOULD BE ITS POWER! LOL!

  • My laptop core i7 outperforms this processor...

  • @BustedJohn good joke.

  • I got mine overclocked with watercooling up to 3,7GHz and it still pwns some i3s and i5s

  • Guys Relax the Q6600 Will blow the doors off of stuff thats not even out yet.. as of 6/24/10

Really REALLY good processsor, your Fkn stupid if you dont buy it... Or if ya waste your money on the 1000 dollar ones...

  • @soulfly761 Your a fucking RETARD!! The Q6600 has been out for about 4 years soon and it sucks ass! Its slow, even at 3.4Ghz and is nothing to compare to an core i5 processors because the i5 pwns the Q6600! How do i know? I got a freaking Q6600@3.4Ghz on a P5Q Deluxe P45 motherboard and a 5870:900Mhz@core/1300Mhz@Memory, And i getting runned over by a guy with an i5 750@2.66Ghz and he only got an GTX 260!

  • Core 2 duo sucks ass, Quad 2 core is the sheezy!!!

  • what kind drugs are these libs taking????

  • when it says it runs at 2.40 ghz does that mean the all in power or the power of each core??( sorry not very good at computers)

  • I got this thing xD is it really good or what? :O

  • Hi, i have some questions, if im going to buy an intel core 2 quad what kind of motherboard do i need ? Do i need anything else ?

  • @JuanxAI you need a motherboard with socket 775...

  • i really dont know nothing about motherboard, what is? how much ? Do i need anything else ? Thanks for the answer

  • @JuanxAI motherboard with sockel 775( slot for the processor) 50 - 100$ .. u need ddr2 rams u need a power suply unit( min. 500 watt) and a graphicard(PCIE) i think thats all :D

  • Since i3/5/7 came out, you can forget about any cpu before.

  • What are you talking about "TheProjectX3"- My Core 2 Quad Q6600 overclocked to 3.6GHZ with 1800FSB and a multi of 8X (goes up to 9)- it still competes with the Core i7 920 at 3.55GHZ! The Core 2 Quad series is no joke- plenty of Cache, 4 legitimate Cores unlike the AMD X3 series which is a joke- A highly Clocked Core 2 Quad beats the i3/i5 core hands down, and still a very strong competitor with the i7 chip.

  • But stock; I didn't say anything about oC systems.

  • These chips were made to overclock- What you think them releasing it at 2.4Ghz limits the performance on the chip some how? They had to release it at a low frequency since it would have fucked up their entire line up at the time it was released at $899. The Q6600 is still no joke- It absolutely rapes games and programs that are multi-threaded and 3.0GHZ to 4.0GHZ overclock is the norm among Q6600 owners. This proves its an incredibly stable and solid chip. Extremely Overclockable.

  • @illmagnified lmfao my i7 overclocked @ 3.9 Ghz would absolutely destroy your Q6600, mind you I own a Q6600 in my media center computer clocked @ 3 Ghz but you can't even compare the two chips!

  • @ProjectRealityBf2 LOL- are you kidding me? LMFAOOO your comment means absolutely nothing. "You can't even compare the 2 chips"- Ummm to bad I did- and to bad your a moron. "My 3.9GHZ i7"- wtf? How stupid is that comment. Honestly. Did I at all say it beats the i7 at 4ghz? I said it competes with the i7 920 @ 3.55. Did you even read my comment before running off at your ass for a mouth? LMFAO@U- GET A LIFE! BETTER YET, READ A TECH BOOK!

  • @illmagnified Yes in some programs it does compete with an i7 but in 3d applications and so forth the i7 eats it for breakfast, I think you are the 15 year old little bitch that needs to go do some research....fucking tool!

  • @ProjectRealityBf2 OMGGGG ARE YOU SERIOUSLY STILL TALKING? LMFAOOO! Ok first off, im not 15- secondly, I'm a head tech at Monster.com Boston/New England- 3rdly i've graduated with my masters in computer science and integration from North Eastern University. How about this- Moron, YOU go do some research about yourself and your misinformed ass. Seriously, are you kidding me? "i7 eats it for breakfast"- LMFAOOOO. How is an FPS difference of 1-10fps in Crysis "eating it for breakfast"? Plz Explain.

  • @illmagnified that makes it even worse if you have graduated from college and you still don't know how to properly research benchmarks and reviews. I know you are a poor ass chink that can't afford an i7 so in turn you go around making shit up about how the Q6600 is on par with an i7 clock for clock.....get your fucking squinty eyed head out of your loose asshole!
