@deadlyapollo I read those messages from american airsofters everywhere. Have you ever tried tokyo maruis guns ? The last ones, at least ? Out of the box, they are way better than... Well, a lot of other airsoft brands.

@KhanSeb to be honest, for serious skirmishing, you will have to upgrade a marui gun, so 'out of the box' performance doesn't really cut it. as for sopmod batteries in the next gen ebbs, they perform very poorly, most had to resort to a lipo conversion. if you aren't prepared to get a ptw and aren't fussy about bolt lock / blowback functions, i'd go with brands such as G&G. also, the next gens marui are such a bitch to upgrade / customise as of now.

@aaron4820 What's "serious skirmishing" ? Maruis guns may be 285 FPS, their performances are great. Out of the box, my M4 sopmod was a great piece and I was already able to shot other players 50 meters away. I use the past because I did make an upgrade on my M4 sopmod (PDI barrel and spring). Now I have 330 FPS and the performances are awesome. And yes, I am "fussy" about bolt lock and blowback functions. Because they are fun. Is that supposed to be wrong ?

@KhanSeb I've got a sopmod which shoots 370 fps with promepheus gear set and lipo conversion, and i've spent way too much on it already, yet im being out ranged by stock ptw, which at the end, costed less than the overall upgrade i spent. all i'm saying is, marui isn't that great due to japanese law, and let's be honest with the 50 meters mark, at stock speed in an out door field, it's luck if you manage to tag someone without spraying... i mean... it's physics.

@aaron4820 Yeah, it's physics. How about good barrel, good hop up, good bb's ? Why everybody think you need to have 450 fps to have good performances ? Actually I'm more a CQB player, I don't really care long range. What I do care about is having good performances with poor FPS, which marui do really good. I'm having fun with my marui guns, because they don't need much attention, they have cool features and have good performances out of the box. That's all I'm looking for.

@KhanSeb well you see that's the difference, cqb range, 285 is well more than enough, there isn't any wind, so fps and bb weight won't matter too much. i don't think what i'm saying is marui is a bad make, if it is i wouldn't own about 5 of them, and when they release the ebb scar-l, i'm buying it, but marui stock guns really can't compete with many other guns out there without modifications, atleast in outdoor games, which is fine, it's just something to keep in mind.

@KhanSeb I agree, you don't need 400+ FPS to do well in CQB or in a field OP. I downgraded my Ares TAR to shoot just above 300 FPS, I think it's 307 FPS to be exact, and I've been getting more kills than ever with the same accuracy as before with .23s. Alot of guys out on the field have guns that shoot over 400 FPS but they don't get nearly as much kills as I do so FPS doesn't have that much of a effect on performance, I believe it's the operator that makes the performance really.
