  • Bell helmets use bigger numbers on their helmets than what they can actually fit. I tried countless helmets last week, from different companies, and with every one of them i would had to choose the 58(M) size, which is exactly how long my head's perimeter is - 58cm.

However on Bell i had to use the 60(L) one.

  • @kozas0 It is interesting to hear you say that and the opposite of what we have found. The new RS-1 and Moto 9 have a more snug race fit than typically expected while in the past the Star & Vortex have fit slightly larger. Out of curiosity, do you have a very round ro earth head shape vs the medium oval we talk about all the time?

  • @kozas0 I didnt have that problem. I measure a 57.5cm and the RS-1 fit perfectly. I think since you were at the limit of medium with your head maybe just slightly to big or you just didn't like how snug it actually is suppose to fit. Compared to my Arai the RS-1 fits pretty snug, but still comfortable.

I love this helmet and everyone I know that owns a newer Bell hasn't said one thing about the sizing being wrong.

  • @HuffPCair Hmm probably i made a bad generic conclusion. Thing is that i only tried the Bell M1 cause i wasn't interested in their more expensive helmets. Also i am in Europe, i see you are in US so i guess you 're talking about the US ones (they are different, yours for example are Snell compatible while ours are ECE 22.05 compatible). Also EU ones are produced in Italy.

  • @kozas0 Oh ok, yeah that may be the case, plus Revzilla will do the first ship back for free. Buying the RS-1 from them was my first time dealing with them and it was great, I will definitely be taking my business to them a lot more often.

Also buying off the internet is not so bad, specially where I am there isn't really any place that carries a good helmet because Kansas is a right to wear state so not to many places even carry helmets other than the lowest grade DOT.

  • For the most part i was just trying to warn people to avoid buying a Bell helmet off the web without even trying it first, just by using the sizing guide. And that's probably a bad practice for all helmets anyway. Didn't meant that Bell helmets are bad or anything - i actually bought that M1 on large size and i am very happy with it. Fits me fine.

@RevzillaTv I am not sure about my head's shape, i guess it's round yes
