It's a 6.0L. There's no pop off or blow off valve, waste gate etc. It's a variable geometric charger. 03's have 10 vanes, 04's 13 vanes, 05& up 15 vanes. I have a 6.4L puttin 600 rwhp to the ground with intake , exhaust and custom dyno tuning

stock means no motor work or bolt ons done mostly.. an exhaust and intake hardly takes you out of the stock category, and the addition of a tuner still means the motor for all intents and purposes is stock.. a "stock" 6.0 with exhaust, intake and proper programming will put over 440 HP to the wheels. i have done it.

there's a company out there that sells blow off valves for the dmax/PSD that are controlled by a microprocessor, i think they tap into the TPS sensor not sure.... but they are pricey, like 600 bucks i think...
diesel trucks do not come equipped with a blow off valve actually. and the 6L do not even use a wastegate. a blow off valve releases boost pressure via bypassing to atmosphere, please do some research before you post about things. what you hear is compressor surge, and it is exactly the reason blow off valves were invented, it IS bad for the turbo in the long run.
Nice one! Yea, 6.0 liter rules. There were a few bad ones that gave the engine a bad name. My '03 6.0 liter makes over 450 hp and almost 900 ft*lbs of torque without ever taking the heads off for injectors or gaskets etc. Still running strong at 100k miles always on extreme tuning (except when towing 10000#+). And I'll smoke any duramax or cummins in a drag race or tow. Ford rules!
I good friend of mine consistently laid down 12.20 and 12.30 passes last year in Houston with a 7.3 in an extended cab 4x4, fuel only with a single charger. He ran a best of 12.16 that day. This is on the same stock longblock it came with from the factory. Heads have never been off. The 7.3 can move too if you treat it right. The same truck is still making pass after pass a year later.
Who's to say it's not making between 400 and 450hp? You don't need a big charger to make that kind of power with a 7.3 Myself and plenty of others have made damn near 500rwhp with the Garrett drop in turbo. Some have made over 500hp with it. No spray, no propane no mathanol.

yah that was a guesstimation its 425hp... i have about 3000 in to it liek i have it chipped intakes and pipes with a few other little things injectors and some other small stuff mabe about 4500 in to the motor... but i had it on a dyno and it was about 425 hp the guy that did all the work said the motor is good for 450 hp.. but im barley on it with the chip turned up so on occasion i have it up there

unfortunately everyone you asked either didn't own a 6.0 or was one of the minority who had a problematic one. Yeah there were issues, but not all of them were bad. i've NEVER had a problem with my 6.0.. the 7.3 will never make the power of the 6.0 w/out complete rebuild, they have powder metal rods that will grenade above 400RWHP, 2 valve heads, etc.. yes they are reliable, but i honestly believe the 6.0 is a much better motor.. 7.3 if you want to drive it forever, but 6.0 if you want power.
Let it be known that despite all the early 6.0 issues, The 6.0 powerstroke became one of the most reliable diesels in it's later years. It's too bad it started off buggy. It really was a well designed engine. Ford is still pissed with International over the buugy launch. Nice burnout BTW. My fave is still the maroon excursion burnout tho ;)

it is called compressor surge and is very BAD for the turbo. basically when you let off under boost the compressed air charge has no where to go and backs up in the charge tubes actually 'backspinning' the turbo, the sound you hear is the turbine shaft changing directions several times and it will eventually lead to a broken turbine shaft..
thus the reason turbo vehicles use a blow off valve , which are vacuum operated and why you don't see them on diesels since they don't create vacuum
turbo farts don't really hurt the turbo, i've done it many times and most truck will do it if you let off really quickly when getting on it. Watch a few of the pro street trucks doing burnouts in my videos from TS, they all do it, especially the black garmon truck.
i hate to disagree with you, but you are most certainly WRONG.. yes you've done it many times, and most trucks WILL do it when you chop the throttle under boost... just because the "cool guys" do it doesn't mean it's not bad for the turbo. it is actually backspinning the turbo and the shaft is changing directions many times very quickly and IT WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A SNAPPED TURBINE SHAFT. will occasional farts break the turbo ? not likely but enough of them will take their toll
yes the EGR is one of the drawbacks, but a major fault is the stock head bolts/head gaskets.. adding head studs and an EGR delete is a must for Hi power 6.oh applications.
i have the EGR blocked off, but i still need to delete the cooler assy. all toghether.

it's not a blow off valve, that sound you are hearing is actually the "compressor surge" ... that is the damaging shockwave that destroys turbos, and is the exact reason that blow off valves were invented in the first place.. the only thing is that diesel don't operate with vacuum, and blow off valves are vacuum operated, so you don't see them on diesels... but i can tell you that they are NEEDED for sure. there's an electric one that costs like 600 bucks

Who's to say it's not making between 400 and 450hp? You don't need a big charger to make that kind of power with a 7.3 Myself and plenty of others have made damn near 500rwhp with the Garrett drop in turbo. Some have made over 500hp with it. No spray, no propane no mathanol.

ha ha i knwo what you mean .. when i got my lisence my parents bough t me a pathfinder 2003. i took it muddin man when i sold it there was proll y mud from when i first got it under it ha ha .. but its always fun though i think its totally worth it i just have to be sure no rocks if i scratch my rims ill cry ha ha

yah that was a guesstimation its 425hp... i have about 3000 in to it liek i have it chipped intakes and pipes with a few other little things injectors and some other small stuff mabe about 4500 in to the motor... but i had it on a dyno and it was about 425 hp the guy that did all the work said the motor is good for 450 hp.. but im barley on it with the chip turned up so on occasion i have it up there

mm thanks.. well i mean i wana have the truck for a while and i don t knwo but there is a possibilty ill be puttin over 300,000 but i mean i want somthing in the middle where i got power and long lasting.. but i mean most the power upgrader im puttin on are going to be so i can save fuel when im not playin around lol.. and justwondering if you have any idea what ballpark gas mileage for one is.. like once chiped,intake and pipe,22-25mpg??

but man should o f gone wiht the 7.3 i just bought a 03 powerstroke for that reason the last year i can get a 7.3 after mass recearch and just asking around everyone preffered the 7.3 whats your opinion on that 7.3 vs the 6.0 like the 7.3 is a proven motor and i have been told it is more reliable but what is your say

unfortunately everyone you asked either didn't own a 6.0 or was one of the minority who had a problematic one. Yeah there were issues, but not all of them were bad. i've NEVER had a problem with my 6.0.. the 7.3 will never make the power of the 6.0 w/out complete rebuild, they have powder metal rods that will grenade above 400RWHP, 2 valve heads, etc.. yes they are reliable, but i honestly believe the 6.0 is a much better motor.. 7.3 if you want to drive it forever, but 6.0 if you want power.

Let it be known that despite all the early 6.0 issues, The 6.0 powerstroke became one of the most reliable diesels in it's later years. It's too bad it started off buggy. It really was a well designed engine. Ford is still pissed with International over the buugy launch. Nice burnout BTW. My fave is still the maroon excursion burnout tho ;)

you are so wrong. i still don't have big oil and i'm over 600now.. made 480HP w/STOCK oil,STOCK fuel,STOCK VGTw/65mm compressor wheel,ARP's...made ~550 w/FASS,170cc's,03VGT TURBO w/compressor upgrade...A5000 is a POS!haha i've got 66-71/.85a/r S300 and 200cc's putting over 600RWHP so anytime u think my shit's slow come to vegas and get broke off.

After listening to it again, it's not even a 7.3, it's a 6oh. Hell, a 6L will make over 400hp with intake exhaust and a chip.

its obvious you know nothing about PSDs hence the name rookie.. 445HP can be done w/STOCK 6.0L with a straight pipe and SCT tuning.. that's about the max however i made 441 like that.. u don't need big oil on the 6oh like the 7.3does either. and aurora5000 is poop only good for the track or sled pulling. you are so gay leave the diesel talk to those that know about it.

it is called compressor surge and is very BAD for the turbo. basically when you let off under boost the compressed air charge has no where to go and backs up in the charge tubes actually 'backspinning' the turbo, the sound you hear is the turbine shaft changing directions several times and it will eventually lead to a broken turbine shaft..
thus the reason turbo vehicles use a blow off valve , which are vacuum operated and why you don't see them on diesels since they don't create vacuum

turbo farts don't really hurt the turbo, i've done it many times and most truck will do it if you let off really quickly when getting on it. Watch a few of the pro street trucks doing burnouts in my videos from TS, they all do it, especially the black garmon truck.

i hate to disagree with you, but you are most certainly WRONG.. yes you've done it many times, and most trucks WILL do it when you chop the throttle under boost... just because the "cool guys" do it doesn't mean it's not bad for the turbo. it is actually backspinning the turbo and the shaft is changing directions many times very quickly and IT WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A SNAPPED TURBINE SHAFT. will occasional farts break the turbo ? not likely but enough of them will take their toll

yes the EGR is one of the drawbacks, but a major fault is the stock head bolts/head gaskets.. adding head studs and an EGR delete is a must for Hi power 6.oh applications.
i have the EGR blocked off, but i still need to delete the cooler assy. all toghether.

it's not a blow off valve, that sound you are hearing is actually the "compressor surge" ... that is the damaging shockwave that destroys turbos, and is the exact reason that blow off valves were invented in the first place.. the only thing is that diesel don't operate with vacuum, and blow off valves are vacuum operated, so you don't see them on diesels... but i can tell you that they are NEEDED for sure. there's an electric one that costs like 600 bucks

im with you titanagain i got a 01 crew cab long bed dually running 35/12.50-16 bfgs and i can roll them over pretty easy with less hp then you have.. now i don't care about the guys that say ya but he had 38's im still putting down more rubber to the ground seeing its dual wheels and there is about 12 inches of rubber hitting the ground per tire that's a lot of traction. any way great truck man smoke em if ya got em

it now has over 500 w/65mm turbo/190cc sticks, FASS, ITP, ARP's, and lots more..

no, this video is in response to some other guy who posted "500hp burnout" with his superduty. it was stock, and he tried to do a burnout in a parking lot, and could barely get his tires to break loose.. one tiny puff of smoke.. so i decided to show him what a real super duty burnout looked like, and i was under 500 back when this was made..
