This video makes me weep. At one time, the People of Canada owned CN Rail; hundreds of train stations; hotels (Chateau Laurier, Queen Elizabeth,Jasper Park Lodge); roundhouses; CN OfficeTowers in Edmonton and London, Ontario; over 60,000 acres of land. The Canada Lands Company, a.k.a. CN Real Estate, gutted the Crown Corporation, known as "The People's Railway".
Just look and listen if this generation didn't get it no one will. And we nailed it on the head. And there still remains too many of us to let it go now. So on this Easter Morning 04/24/2011 I sing along with them any day now..........any day now we shall be released..................
Ten Years After, Shanana were there too , as was Clapton and an appearance by John Lennon even though he wasn't scheduled - just showed up - an incredible concert
in some ways it was even better than woodstock, as a film, the sound was better...and you got to see different groups on stage with each other, jamming.
Wow - never heard about that tour - great to see these icons having fun and enjoying life - so many of them passed on too young - Janis, Jerry, Richard Manuel, Rick Danko RIP
@70sforever1 definitely find the film if you can...really interesting tour and film. the tour itself was a financial disaster because the 'kids' kept insisting on every show being free (being the post-woodstock expectation) to the point of clashing with the cops...amazingly, rob weir and others sided with the police in the clashes over ticket prices ("is ten bucks worth a guy being in a hospital?") a most interesing turn to see from counterculture/anti-authority icons.
24 years old. Jamming it!
