thank you so much, i still have to play with it seeing as im a longtime mac os user, there are definitely alot of little tweaks that i hope will be possible to make i can already tell, but really thanks again!
@Videotubelord i have a macbook pro 13inch that has brightness buttons on f1 and f2 but in ubuntu they are limited to only increasing to a dimmer possibility than in mac os. Same for audio buttons f11 and f12.
is there a way to change the commands to apple commands? Like if i want a new tab can i just press command t instead of having to switch to control t? and command s for save and command q for quit program running in front? thanks a ton
@danielmbcutler yes. I just did a google search for "ubuntu keybindings" and the furst link gave a page for the ubuntu wiki which details changing keybindings to your liking.
Hey, great vid, can you please tell me what video software you're using to create your Youtube videos? Linux / Ubuntu does not have any good video software, have to use Windows. I'm curious as to what program you're using? thanks for your reply.
@ganjacasper FFMPEG is covered a lot on Ubuntu forums. It took a lot of effort on my part to get a line of code that would work on my system. With FFMPEG, persistence is KEY. My suggestion is to try out other strings other people have used maybe modify the command line code to suit your needs. OR you might consider gtk-recordmydesktop, istanbul, kazam or xvidcap as these programs have GUI frontends that are easier to use. Good luck!
When I had the 11.04: I copied all the desktop appearances put them in my flash pen, then when I upgraded to the 11.10 version I Pasted them in my picture folder.
After that I deleted all the ugly 11.10 desktop appearances and now I have the best desktop from Ubuntu 11.04.

@danielmbcutler Brightness buttons? Is this laptop? Never saw a laptop with special brightness buttons... Anyway you can bind buttons in settings.

@life2essence at the time I made this video I used KAZAM screencaster. I am now using FFMPEG (command line) to do my screencasts.
