@brenard23455 The point is that North- and East-Netherlanders don't care for the "Dutch Identity" or for "Holland", becouse Dutch being the Englisch word for Dietsch and Dietsch being the "old" name for both the language and the people that commited above stated atrocities. Holland was the name of the Dutch republic, that they formed at our expence, exsample: at the time of the dutch slavetrades we were not a part of Holland, jet we have to justify to its victims.

The mainland is where the real Germanic countries are like Germany, Netherlands, Flanders(north belgium) and Britain. However Britain had a lot of celtic influence so they are more a mixture of Germanic and Celtic.

The modern border of netherland/germany is a political border and dutch people were originally surely part of the german system, not only in the HrE. Dutch was once the name for germans and is extremely close related to "Deutsch"/duitisc or theodisc.
